It's like...What decent job is there out there that a lot of people DON'T want? Seems like there are too many people, and not enough jobs. We don't need to expand our workforce here to further undercut what we have.

I have no professional experience in the field but I do have personal projects, I was able to land one interview through a connection at jetblue but eventually they passed on me because they had someone who had more experience lined up. Despite passing their technical interview, even that wasn’t enough. I haven’t had a Data analysis interview since and this was in October 2024. I am eager to learn and grow professionally within a company, I’d even take minimum wage because I value experience much more but it’s been really challenging even passing the ATS system.

@@mon3ylounge what is the ATS system? And what kind of experience do you have through your personal projects?

How do you foresee ai interacting with data analyst and statistician jobs in the next few years

@@Steveatetheicecream it already is, we use it on a daily basis to help us write queries and code.. we are working on AI with other use cases as we speak, data agents, AI filtering in dashboards, etc

@ do you think it will take over the role entirely soon? I’m currently getting a MPH and interested in biostatistics although my main worry is I haven’t had any experience in R or SQL. Do you think these coding skills are essential for the roles? I’ve heard you talk about them a bit, just came across your channel yesterday

@ SQL at the bare minimum I would say .. I feel like for biostats you would want some R and/or Python experience too
