    To me, it's a tie between Software Developer and Cybersecurity. By the way, awesome job doing a simple break down of each role and what it involves.

    Why software development has to always be web development lol I mean what about mobile app development and desktop development. You also have embedded software.

    • @andreiursachi3558
      @andreiursachi3558 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I get what you are saying but trust me embedded is not for beginners. Web dev is like the easiest side of software development. If you want to cut it into embedded that’s a total different beast.

      if you check the tech market share you'll see that a lot of the software developers out there specializes in web development compared to any other field like mobile or desktop development. and don't forget a lot of the jobs out there you'll see a much bigger demand for web developers so that's why you see more people inclined to learn web development than any other field (depends on where you live in the world)
      one other reason could be recruiters mislabeling web developers as software developers when you see a job opening

    Hello
    I am going to start my undergraduate program next year
    I got two options
    Computer science
    AI and Data Science
    And I thought of focusing in the area of cybersecurity as well (with certificates and self learning)
    So what can I do, is it choosing
    Computer Science and focusing on cybersecurity better or
    AI and Data Science and focusing on cybersecurity better
    It will be grateful if I receive a reply
    Thank you

    I'm 46 years old and I already hv a bachelor in criminal justice but that was years ago, I've been in the trucking industry for over 15 years and now I want to break I to the tech world because I see it's an industry that's going no where, is it too late for me to break into the tech world? If not where do I start?

    • @GeorgeDrippy
      @GeorgeDrippy 18 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      No. It's never too late, but as you get older there are more challenges to overcome. First, there's some ageism. Second, there's a heavy bias towards experience. Third, prepare for a low starting wage.
      The way to overcome these is to be levels above your peers. Like getting a degree, certifications, building projects and a website to put them on. Start a blog of your journey or TH-cam channel.
      Personally, I'd go through some IT support courses and get a feel for things. Find some direction (networking, web dev, programming, cloud, etc.) Then I would get a certification like CCNA, Sec+, etc. to get you into an easier market (even if that's not your real direction). You want to get your foot in the door somewhere, then transition into your ideal role. You want to position yourself higher with these certs than just an A+/Net+.
      With a lot of companies any degree places you higher in these roles. You can also leverage your work history and get into a company that hires IT/Programmers. Look at City, County, State, Fed jobs. Just get any job you're suited for, prep your skill sets for those jobs, then transfer when a position opens up.
      It's a long answer but having a good plan will get you where you want to go. You just have to be better than the competition.

      You’re extremely lucky that you have truck driving to fall back on. It’s not unattainable. Maybe you can build projects, and friend request 4000 to 5000 LinkedIn connections and post it. Or work help desk. Good luck!

    • @GoonCity777
      @GoonCity777 2 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@GeorgeDrippyis it even possible for someone to be better than their competition when the competition has worked in a company? The only paths forward I can see is either working help desk or building projects + having 5000 LinkedIn connections.
