This is part of a month-long event in collaboration with Olly and Teach Yourself, where we are promoting reading as one of the most effective ways to learn a new language.

this is so cool.
While l am skeptical about this medium as a Primary source for the autodidact, l think it can be a very effective adjunct to a course of reading. l still believe in Books. And l bet the guy reading this excerpt feels similiarly.
l look forward to watching as the ardent practioners of the venerable art and craft of Teaching apply their pedagogical creativity to find the possible applications of the internet.
Hello Dan, I don't think it can be the primary source either, but it's a valuable (and motivation-building) resource to broaden your vocabulary and ultimately just have fun with the language, which is probably the most relevant thing in my whole language learning philosophy :)

B c Hey there! Yes, I’m still learning till this day. It took me almost 1 year and I’m proud of myself :) If you want to learn German or any other language , there are many apps that will help you; (and they helped me as well!) Duolingo and Rosetta Stone.

Coole Idee, danke Stefano, das war sehr hilfreich für mich. Und als du angefangen hat, zufällig auf Deutsch zu sprechen, war es gut, weil das heißt, dass Deutsch tief in deiner Persönlichkeit liegt, und dass es dir automatisch ist. Das ist, was ich wünsche, beim Sprachlernen zu passieren (war es gut?) :)

Was finally able to get book since on another website...the down pat is that it was supposed to come with audio included as part of a deal but never got it. I wrote to the company but still no audio.

All the while I thought you were a writer of short stories. But eventually I realized you don't seem to look like a German but a sort of mixed nationalities (just guessing). You did read and pronounce well in German. Perhaps I'd see you more until the story is done. Thank you very much.

Thanks for asking! I just checked with Olly and the answer is yes, the professional audio support will be available! The only thing is that you have to wait for the books to be actually released, as they are currently in pre-order mode (please check the Amazon page through the link in the description box).

Does it really say "Energiegetränk"? That story is trolling you. Literally no-one says "Energiegetränk". We just call it Energy Drink.
By the way, great pronunciation. You sound exactly like someone from Germany with the exception that you slightly mispronounced the name Jochen. It's a short o, not a long one.

anyone tell me how much it takes of me to start reading such stories in german , I am reading level A1 right now and Iam afraid if I start reading my accent would be bad !! And any suggestion for a good German/English dictionary please ?
Hi there, for a good online dictionary you can use dict.cc, it's great not just for words but for expressions too. I think you need to be at least A2 to be able to understand partially and B1 to fully enjoy the reading, but that's my personal opinion. To avoid developing a strong accent I suggest you use audio-supported readings.
