thank you. Right now that has to be one of the most thankless jobs out there. My friend was monitoring the entrance at our local grocery store. She has been spit at, pushed, they swear at her and call her names. Would they like it better if the store had to be closed because an employee contracted covid and they had to shut the whole place down and now there is NO local place to get groceries? I'm a custodian for a school district and the last 5 years there's been a decrease in supplies due to budget cuts and since trump took over a lot of our workers were scared off. And if they get rid of DACA there goes half of our department. For Elementary schools we use to have 3 custodians now some have barely 1. Middle schools barely had 4 now their struggling with 3. High School campuses need at least 12 custodians. Now only 4 can barely disinfect our buildings where the kids go to get an education

She has been spit at, pushed, they swear at her and call her names. I'm a custodian for a school district and the last 5 years there's been a decrease in supplies due to budget cuts and since trump took over a lot of our workers were scared off. And if they get rid of DACA there goes half of our department. For Elementary schools we use to have 3 custodians now some have barely 1. Middle schools barely had 4 now their struggling with 3. High School campuses need at least 12 custodians. Now only 4 can barely disinfect our buildings where the kids go to get an education

Rationality and co-operation has proven a successful path through this.

We are not even on hard lockdown, but only Stage 3. We’re now starting to plan for staged lifting of the lockdown. All sides of politics, right and left, business and unions are acting TOGETHER, working together for the good of the country, consulting and talking together, taking each other’s advice to arrive at the BEST path through this. Politics has gone out the window. No partisanship. Just good science and trust in each other. And it’s working.
Yes this makes me so sad. I work as a CNA, and let me tell you, it is so exhausting trying to suit up every time we have to work. We try so hard to keep everyone safe by sanitizing door knobs, bedrails etc. It's not worth a hair cuts and other senseless things.Please people stop letting Trump egg you on. I think we can do several things at one time, we can protect most vulnerable people, we can adjust to reduce danger such as masks, no huge gatherings, and we can start ramping our economy back up.
We already knew people would get virus. We knew this when we agreed to quarantine. Quarantine was not to stop people from getting virus, it was to stop a lot of people at one time getting virus which would over run health services. We know that by going back to work more people will get virus. That happens over the next month or three months from now, but it is going to happen either way. No damn way some golden cure coming soon.
