Our office has 2 units of 2014 Toyota Altis 1.6V. I felt like Toyota lost its durability and reliability with their passenger cars.
The aircon compressor in 1 of our unit broke down around 32,000kms or at around 3 years. Just right after warranty expired.
The design of this aircon Compressor is disposable, you can’t just repair or replace the clutch system, it comes in 1 piece. Cost about 80k in Toyota casa.
We also encountered water pump failure at 29,000kms in another unit.
We also experience lots of plastic rattle noises on the dash and rear sunshade area.
It will be nice if car journalists could review long term usage or consumer report reviews on cars too. Like what to expect after 3 years or when the warranty is gone.
The Toyota Vios components are not Toyota, they're actually Daihatsu. So Japanese, but not exactly Toyota. Also the Avanza, Rush and Wigo are Daihatsu.
Nah i bought Toyota altis 2016 G 1.6 AT and its 4 yrs now they run smooth as new.
