Today I took the new boat for a wee spin at newhaven.
Fishing was a shocker but for me that was secondary today. Just wanted to get used to all the bits and the engine. Had a few mackerel and pout.
Good company and good laughs. Now I have to appeal a parking fine and fix a prop which span on flushing the engine. It Wasn’t quite in neutral 🙄we live and learn.

9.8 is a great engine. I love my kayak and boat fishing. Always be a place for both in my life 😅

Hello mate,I would like to ask for your opinion what is the minimum horse power to push back 3.3m inflatable boat safely to the shore (up tide).

Hi there, first of all tides can vary, but let’s assume it’s a big tide and the tide run is 4 knots. I’d imagine minimum engine will be a 5hp to get you going. More weight will slow it down. My 335 SIB with 10hp with 2 adults will do 12knotts against tide. Hope this helps

Nope, not here in the UK. Personally I think it’s bad a bare minimum safety coarse doesn’t need to be passed to take out a motored vessel. Luckily most are sensible 😊many thanks for watching
