I had to pause the video and say how much I relate to your opening. My husband died in 2009 and I definitely have those dreams at times. I wish we lived closer! I also find weekends more difficult and I’ve dated quite a bit but no one has been my 2.0. Friends are the same for me. I have close friends out of state but no bff nearby. I am an introvert so I’m okay 90% of the time but I fully understand Kicki. ❤

Feeling positive today, thank you. I am basically in a happy place right now, but since my two older children left the house I do feel lonely without a partner. Thank you for commenting.

I can understand that feeling. By pure dumb luck, I stumbled upon someone that's been my best friend since I met him in a video game online through some other friends. I don't even remember how, but we grouped up to play a match of league of legends, and he was on the team. After that we just kept playing together, and we kept talking daily ever since. The more time passes the more I understand just how insanely lucky anyone has to be to meet someone like that, I haven't met anyone in my life so far that was even remotely close to the kind of connection I feel with him. We are very like minded, not judgemental, we are mentally mature and able to seriously and objectively discuss basically any topic you could think of. I honestly have no idea what I would do or how I would feel if he would be gone. I would most likely just go back to my middle school introverted self that only played video games and never talked with anyone unless someone started talking to me first. But by far the most important thing is that I feel our friendship has been so good because of our ability to communicate, and feeling comfortable to bring up any topic and discuss it, no matter how difficult or awkward it might feel like to someone else.
I live in Romania, but my goal and my dream is to live in Japan, so I'm fully concentrated on making that a reality, and even having him around, we really only talk online since we live in different cities, so I feel this loneliness of not having a girlfriend sometimes. A lot of times when I talked with women colleagues from work, or women friends in general, I'm constantly aware of the fact that I just can't get into a relationship because I'm just going to move to Japan in the future. It just makes no sense to put effort into that if I'm not even going to stay in the country. But I suppose it doesn't hurt as bad since everyone I found attractive so far was already in a relationship, so it wouldn't have mattered either way. I honestly have no idea how, but it seems like the majority of people I meet are already in relationships. If I didn't have this goal of moving to Japan, I would be rather confused about how the hell do you even find someone to begin with. I'm not even going to start talking about all the times I asked women what their hobbies are and I was hit with the "my hobby is sleeping" answer. I can't think of a better way to make someone uninterested.
I met a girl many moons ago, when I was about 12-13 years old, that played counter strike, and we somehow ended up playing together a lot, I don't even remember how anymore, but it felt really nice to play with her. Unfortunately, she was some 6-7 years older than me, and we stopped talking at some point, but I honestly don't even remember why. From what I remember she just didn't come online anymore, I have no idea what happened, but I tried contacting her again on the ID she was using at the time on some messenger app we were using. Never got a reply anymore. Wish I knew how she's doing nowadays.

Thank you for sharing that. Curious, what makes you want to move to Japan? I have met some strange and boring men lately with no or few hobbies and we just have had nothing to talk about. The talking is just as important to me as physical attractiveness.

@@thehonestperfumereviewer6336 I love technology, and from some points of view Japan is one of the most technologically advanced countries in the world, especially in terms of public transportation. Some areas where they are still behind would be the usage of fax machines in some places (who still uses fax machines? haha), and not being able to pay everywhere with a credit/debit card.
I love cars and driving, but I can't bring myself to buy a car considering what chaos there is in traffic already, and just driving bumper to bumper, waiting at stoplights. I'm buying a motorcycle next year in spring, maybe March or April. Some of the rural areas in Japan are as boring and isolated as anywhere else, but that's pretty much the case in most countries. I'd like to live in one of the bigger cities anyway, preferably either Fukuoka or Osaka.
Other reasons would be that I really like the language, the attitude, politeness and care that Japanese people show to each other in general. There's too many things to say about what I've seen of the mentality of Japanese people, but I just like it overall. Then you have basically non-existent serious crime. You don't have to be afraid to walk outside on a night out. I also like motorcycles and I would rather ride a motorcycle than drive a car if I can. And Japan is the place where the big 4 manufacturers (Honda, Yamaha, Kawasaki, and Suzuki) of motorcycles are. There's a lot of motorcycles on the road in Japan, I'm assuming more than many other countries, which means drivers are used to it and you're less likely to be in an accident because car drivers are more used to having motorcycles on the street. I like all the mountains, and all the places I could visit. I like all the festivals that they have and I think those festivals are amazing. I like hot springs.
I live in Romania, and compared to many other highly developed countries, I have to say that Romania would only maybe be a good place to live in if you're rich. And that's still a maybe. So I just want to leave as soon as possible, and it just so happens that I like most thing about Japan and the downsides there are wouldn't bother me that much, if at all.
Lastly, I started watching a channel called Abroad in Japan some years ago and he has a video in which he explained why he wanted to live in Japan in the first place. Some couple on a plane told him that their daughter was a JLPT associate English teacher in Japan and it was an amazing experience. Over the duration of his flight, this couple sold him on the idea that Japan is great and he should have this experience as a JLPT teacher (usually these teachers would just work 1-3 years on this programme and go back to their own country). So he thought this was a great idea, he was very motivated to get to Japan on this JLPT programme, and now he's still living in Japan to this day. Hearing his story motivated me even more.
I hope this isn't too much reading, but those are the main reasons I can think of right now, although there's definitely more reasons.

So sorry about your loss. I can relate. I lost my husband in 2010. I have since remarried. I also have dreams that my late husband isn’t talking to me,and then finally when we are talking, suddenly I can’t find him. It is a dream that I have had many times. It would be nice if you could meet somebody, it sounds like your ready. 🙏💜

Thank you for sharing that. I guess this phenomenon is grief in the dream format. Missing someone. I feel that my husband's soul is still alive. Yes, I think I am ready. Maybe not having a job has made it more difficult, since I can't quite identify with being unemployed even though I am and have been for too long. I was someone and now I am no one. That kind of feeling. But the right man would understand. I just need to own the situation I am in and not defend myself. There is a reason why I haven't worked for a while.

Ashoka is one of my ride or die fragrances; I have Angelique as well but to me they are not similar. I'm also off Dior, but that's because of their 20 million dollar contract with Depp and then they raised their prices. I would much rather companies put money into their juices and not so much the marketing.

Thanks for recommending this podcast, I will check it out for sure! Lately I have been craving tuberose, very odd, because tuberose and patchouli are notes that I just dont like. Last weekend I was in town sniffing perfumes, and ended up testing L' interdit from Givenchy, and fell in love so much that I ended up buying it. I have never tested it, partly because of the notes, but also because I had just decided that these designers are no good. Well, I was wrong. On my skin it is a woody floral, with some spices and just a tiny bit sweetness. Love it! Another designer I use a lot is Libre from YSL. Great fragrance ❤

I am so sorry you are feeling lonely. I have felt that way at times, but I have my husband so it can't possibly be the same. For me, it's perhaps that as I have gotten older, I can't do some of the things I once loved to do and my girl friends have moved away or passed away. So, I have to make a bigger effort to meet other women with my interests and so far the women I like that fit that description are not in my area! Today I decided to wear something I was going to get rid of; Azuree Estee Lauder. I have the vintage so I thought, why do I need the recent one as well? Well, my recent bottle has oak moss, and smells great so I think it's not as recent as I thought. Anyway, it lasted all day and I enjoyed it, so I guess I will keep it a while longer. I am doing my best to retry and retry the patchouli based samples you sent and It is a very good education for my nose even if some are too much for me now. Thank you for your videos! oxJulia

Thank you for commenting, Julia. Don't feel any pressure to wear or try fragrances that I sent if they feel challenging. Life is too short to wear stuff you don't like, don't you think? But sometimes one needs a little challenge for the nose. I just finished the last drops of Ambre Noir from Brecourt that you sent me and I loved the opening and wrote in my notebook that is was a beauty. Then after like 45 minutes and for the rest of the night, some note was really bugging me and I cannot figure out what it was. What did you think of it? This was a sample and you might not have a bottle of this one.

@@thehonestperfumereviewer6336 Hi Kicki, I have a little bowl with samples by my computer that I put on when the mood strikes while comparing stuff and watching videos in the evening so no worries. I don't force myself to wear stuff I don't get on with. That Brecourt sample was sent to me with a bottle I bought from someone on Mercari and I tried it and didn't like it, lol! I can't even remember what it was about it, as it was a hard pass, hahaha!

Thanks for your insight concerning "Ashoka" and the other ones that are similar to it. Neela Vermeire Creations is definitely on my list of fragrance companies to try. Recently, I've been interested in getting Hermes "Bel Ami Vetiver", even though I've never tried it. It's available again and I might get it, but do you think $126 is too much for it? I'm thinking about adding "Rochas Femme" to that order. Recently, I added Guerlain "Bois Mysterieux" and "Encens Mythique" to my collection. I haven't tried them yet, but I got them for a good price, especially the "Encens Mythique" which cost me only $77. Anyways, thanks for your video, and I hope you don't feel lonely anymore. I spend at least most of my time by myself, but I never get lonely. Being solitaire is how I do my best.

Is Profumum Roma "Patchouly" similar to V Canto "Mea Culpa"? "Mea Culpa" is one of the highest ranking fragrances in my collection. It's up there with "Jubilation XXV Man".
