Greed is what got this city & the whole country in this bind. In L.A. the rent is too high, buying a home is high, & wages are too low. Some of those homeless people have a mental problem or a drug problem. It's way too many people living on the streets. In another video someone stated that " there's no money in helping homeless people ". The people I'm more concerned about are the elderly & disabled. After March there will probably be more homeless people the Gov't is cutting section 8.

I just got back home to Guam last week and i still can't believe the amount of trash, poverty and homelessness in LA California. My mom had to leave her Guam home to get heart surgery in PIH Good Samaritan Hospital. While she was in the hospital we rented at the Holiday inn closest to the hospital. To avoid extra cost, my children and i walked back and forth and to our discovery we were shocked, outraged and disgusted to see such living conditions exist in the USA. I cried, was fearful and traumatized on how much disease with health risks we were exposed too let alone the people there themselves having no choice but to live it. I asked the nurses at the hospital, staffs at the hotel and other nice folks we came into contact "Where is your government and how do they allow these things to happen?". I really felt as if i was in a third world country. Everyone of them answered "it's sad but make sure you get home before dark and stay inside because it's dangerous." Saddest thing i ever experienced in all my forty-one years of life. Filthiest place on earth, something i never expected especially with all the movies and commercials that televise a beautiful society of Americans living the dream. Not a dream, a nightmare. No child should have to see, smell and live that moment especially in America where laws, constitutions and taxes where created to move civilization forward(well it is what we were taught in school as to why colonization began to remove barbaric ways); that's a lie. God help them all. Shame on their government for watching and not doing enough.

There’s a couple reasons why there’s so much homeless on the streets. First reason is because rents high, Second drugs third most of the homeless don’t want the help. They just wanna live free sounds dumb right but it’s the truth. Coming from a person that was homeless seen how much there is help out there that people provide for homelessness. But there just the ones who don’t care and the ones that got to hooked on drugs they just wanna do the drug more then they want the help. Just saying homelessness is a choice if they wanted to get out of being homeless they would get the help.

David Shawn I grew up in small town in NorCal where you used to see a few homeless people. They were elderly and everyone knew them and give them a hand once in while because they were elderly. And it breaks my heart seeing how bad it has got. Soooo many young people homeless doing drugs. Not wanting to work theres excuse no on why not working. Now a days there’s tons of work out there! I was working at 14 and by 17 I had two jobs and going to school. So no excuse for being homeless I know people can go through a tough time but people who are willing to get out of it will.

@@sunniesublime1 You have a limited view as to why people are homeless. I was homeless twice in the last three years while dealing with breast cancer. I tried to get help and the social services head stationed IN the cancer care unit of the hospital did not do much at all. She helped men more from what I could see and she preferred to talk to the drs and nurses more than I saw here help people. I have dogs. So I had to survive and deal with homelessness and do my cancer treatment to KEEP MY DOGS. Which I still have, and not I am not homeless. There are lot of reasons people are homeless besides alcohol or drugs. And to those who say I should have given up my dogs, I had less reason to want to try hard or live if I lost them. The opposite, that would have broken me completely.

It seems a multitude of mental hospitals need to opened up again. Development of several low-income, drug free complexes/apartment buildings. The mayor is stacking the money, that can very well be contributed to these resources. The tax alone in California can be contributed to helping the homeless epidemic. There is NO REASON that people are working 2 & 3 jobs and housing is so unaffordable. This is why poor people become desperate and commit crimes. If being incarcerated guarantees a better outcome of life, than something in the system is crooked!! Californian government is an atrocity to it’s civilians. I’m starting to see California as the near future dystopian predecessor of this country.
