    As someone who has flown small aircraft for a number of years, your choice of pilot placement was the best I've seen re the CG for the pilot since it was below the props and not above them like most designs I've ever seen.
    If you have the time and inclination I would appreciate being able to pick your brain since these are the next step in aircraft for personal use by those of us who just need to get off the ground for a little while with no particular destination in mind.
    Thank you for sharing.

      Does a low center of gravity really help with stability? Isn't this a case of the rocket pendulum fallacy?

      Я думаю для личных полетов дешевле и проще всего и возможно безопасней- автожир. Вертикальный взлет - дорогое удовольствие. Автожир всегда готов к приземлению, в отличие от подобных конструкций.

      The main problem with this design is that the pilot gets the full wind force of the propellers on themselves. If the blades are under the pilot, the majority of airflow is under the pilot.

    Смотрю на эти ролики и двоякие чувства возникают.
    С одной стороны, можно гордиться смелостью и пытливостью ума этих отважных ребят, строившие эти летательные аппараты и летающие на них. А с другой стороны мне их жалко, что в любой момент могут падать и разбиться с непредсказуемыми последствиями. А все только из--за того, что эти аппараты не защищены от аварий.
    Но вместе с тем вижу определенные решения, что могут эти аппараты и полеты на них сделать более безопасными. Если конечно высота превышает скажем 100 м, это конечно парашют. Но, как правило они летают не на больших высотах, что исключает применение парашютов, не успеют раскрываться. На эти случаи вижу такое решение, это применение больших и легких воздушных подушек под аппаратами из современных, легких и сверхпрочных материалов, баллона со сжатым воздухом и специальными, управляемыми клапанами мгновенного спуска воздуха с болона и из подушки, с определенной скоростью и потоком, что динамично погасит удар аппарата об землю. Именно этот клапан должен управляться встроенным в систему компьютером, с определенной программой, что сделает удар об землю безопасным и динамично спустит воздух.

    The first drone that makes sense, you're below the props. It will be interesting as to how stable it is after he flight tests it multiple times. I 've seen homemade drones that are rock steady, so I have no doubt his will be one of the more successful manned drones.

    • @andreasjanssen8095
      @andreasjanssen8095  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      It works perfectly now very stable, yes the props are the safest way, also I have one time intentionally chrashes and the cell works very well.

    • @Godscountry2732
      @Godscountry2732 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@andreasjanssen8095 @ Andreas Janssen, Something you might consider would be going to a larger diameter airfoil [ small custom helicopter blades ]. You can then reduce the rotor speed, thus making it considerably quieter.
      You might also consider using a single motor with a belt drive turning all 4 rotors / well controlling the aircraft's flight via blade pitch /via a single metal servo on each of the 4 rotors. This would likely save weight and be much safer, Belt drives are very reliable and quiet. Here is a similar design. Your design also allows the use of a ballistic chute should a failure occur. Note how much quieter the larger blades on the Manta ray are. th-cam.com/video/uuExXFCCDgA/w-d-xo.html

    I’ve been wondering for years now why all these “manned drones“ (a misnomer if I ever heard one) didn’t have the payload underneath the thrust plane. It’s nice to finally see one. It’s obviously more stable. I guess those other guys are depending on computer stabilization and there’s nothing wrong with that but Using that same stabilization with this configuration seems much better.

    Very cool build, and by putting the weight down low, a safe one as well.
    Made me think.. for safety, how feasable would it be to have a modular frame, with ejectable arms.
    As the props are the main hazard in flight for a parachute system, would it make sense to eject the arms when in trouble, cutting power and removing the slashing/ burning hazard so to speak.
    When 1 prop goes wonky, you lose all controll. In a deathroll caused by that, a parachute would get tangled up real fast.
    Timing a parachute is iffy as well, so there is a "safe zone" without parachute deployment (low height and speed), and with parachute- at height where a parachute can unfold safely, slowing you down..
    Difficult to get right, but neccesary to fly safe. Without a backup like that, it still is fun and awesome.. but dangerous. Stay safe.

    • @danaandrewdew
      @danaandrewdew 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That’s so smart to just cut the power and then deploy I was overthinking it. Must be a additional feature on chute and separate from regular system. Able to be checked in preflight maybe

    • @Mediamarked
      @Mediamarked ปีที่แล้ว

      @@samsaracoyote8556 Your'e not thinking of the tumbling motion.. Cutting the power leaves the props in the way of cables, ready to tangle up your chute. Forcefully expelling your hazards, and expelling your parachute upwards limits the activation height to a minimum.
