    I haven't finished the video yet. My lunch break is uo. But one thing ive learned is boundaries. Dont share your life with people you work with. As much as you may want to be friends with people dont at work they are not your friends there your co workers. Always be respectful and stand your ground other wise people will tske advantage.

    I love these tips on how to be professional at work! I love the tip about being truthful. And I love the tip to have a positive attitude. I've definitely noticed how much more miserable I've been at jobs where there were workers (or even bosses) who were negative gossips. Having a negative attitude is not the way to have good professionalism in the workplace!

    • @AdrianaGirdler
      @AdrianaGirdler  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Negativity in the work place only brings everyone else down and makes your job far from enjoyable. Bring truthful and positive each day will never go unnoticed by co workers and bosses. Being more professional at work will only benefit you, and those around you. Thanks for watching, cheers!

    i don't have good communication skills (people say i do, but they are genuinely wrong), i cannot speak my words very clearly and im often misinterpreted, and that gets me hurt, it has my whole life. i also am very insecure in myself and it's hard to walk and talk with confidence and like a leader. i really appreciate this video, i hope to learn from your tips. im a new supervisor at my work and im still in training, i just hope to keep going.
    i want to be someone people look up to, people feel heard from and lifted up by, i want to help people grow and i want to be someone who helps the place i work for for the long run as well. it is hard to be more professional in certain ways because i lack confidence and overthink, but im working to get better. thank you for this, again. this really helps

You emphasized on honesty but I’m one who has been too honest and open and I’m sure that made me vulnerable and “unprofessional” . I also have experienced several times it’s the people that are dishonest and have elbow-grease that work their way up. Not the considerate and open types of people.

    At my workplace, it’s hard to be positive and truthful at the same time. The place is very toxic and has leaders making decisions that are inefficient and adding more work for lower level staff. I am the middle man who has to implement/ monitor those changes which means I am getting the complaints from the staff, but the managers don’t accept any feedback so the complaints basically they end with me and I am the one that has to lead the staff in accepting things how they are. This has been going on for years. VERY hard to maintain positive truth.

    I was told today that I was arrogant because I sometimes talk to myself like “Hm...how could I/we do that? Maybe that way...hm...“ and like super slowly and the person was like “You behave like you are owning this place and are working here for two years.“
    I don't even knew that I did this and now I am really afraid what other might think of me.

      Thanks for watching my video. Regarding your concern. First, let’s define arrogance: exaggerating or disposed to exaggerate one's own worth or importance often by an overbearing manner. From what you wrote it doesn’t sound like you were arrogant. Sounds like you were trying to find a solution to a problem. Because I didn’t witness the conversation it is difficult for me to give specific advice to your situation. What I can suggest is to take a step back and reflect on your actions in an honest manner and then reflect on the actions of the other person. Sometimes issues that pop up have nothing to do with us. This other person could be having a bad day, is jealous or just rude. Focus on doing the best job you can do and then you will know you have done your best. That is what matters most. Cheers.

    how do I pull back from being frustrated at work? The bad attitude has lost me jobs consistently.

      Hi Pamela. First you need to figure out what frustrates you and then go from there. Once you can identify that, you can start to work on it little by little. Wishing you the best, cheers!

    I've always struggled with folks who want to talk about their cats and I have two of them. But when I'm working I'm so hyper-focused! Gossip is the WORST! I've learned people that share gossip will talk about you so I never tolerate it.

      Gossip really is a deal breaker. It's unproductive and can cause so much negativity within the workplace. Hope you are doing well, and thanks for watching, cheers!

    0:38....she's right. I worked none union and union. Dealing with management with non union is way better. Meaning, handle issues with a none union company is better. Management is more professional none union than if the company is union. You might get the run around a little bit on a couple things with a none union. But with workplace issues they handle them. With a union you have more protection and benefits with your contract. But you need to read that contract to know what you got. Most people don't read the contract. I think it's better if you read the contract because if you are more informed about what you can do and can't you can fight your battle better. Trust me it is a fight. Even if you're telling the truth.

    She didn't emphasize much on the email
    Email is very important
    Create an unread folder and all the emails that you haven't read will be sent there so. This helps you to know the unread emails
    Your email has to be kept organised

    What is the meaning of sugarcoating?

    • @AdrianaGirdler
      @AdrianaGirdler  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      When we sugar coat something we are making it look superficially attractive or acceptable even when it isn't. Hope this makes sense. Thanks for your question and for watching, cheers!

    Thank you for sharing , great tips and eye opener! At my work place is just opposite! All of my managers aren't professional and do not listen, and don't give you time to explain, and if you try they talk over you. They do not care how you will do your job as long you're making numerous and make sales for the store and be number 1. They do not respect or listen truth instead they turn against you,also if you do make a mistake they humiliate you in front of everyone instead of taking time to understand what have happened and how to correct it. No matter how much effort you put in your work unless you don't make sales it's all for nothing. Thank you again, I will do my best doing my work and be true to myself, no matter of sircumstances. Ivy

    I still find it hard.. because how can you be super positive if something is going wrong... then you can’t just keep being positive about it... and again if your truthful it can be preceded as being negative .. also I feel it’s more expected from women in the work place to be happy and smiling the whole time ... whereas from men much less

      Yes, it can be difficult to stay positive when things aren’t going to plan. I like to take a step back to regroup when that happens.
