    I rode the Auzb Fat trike for 10.000 km across Europe and Africa. And a Auzb tricon 20" for 30.000 km across Europe and Asia. No motor on both. I will soon start a new long trip across Europe and Asia on a Azub Fat again. The Ti Fly X looks great too.

    Your best review I seen yet. I particularly appreciated Kate’s sharing her opinion’s and shop experiences rather than just giving a factual rundown of the various component differences. I finally came away feeling confident which trike I would prefer for my type of riding which rarely happens. Thank you for keeping it real!

    Tiflyx can also really go offroad with the sram and wider wtb tires (2.8) en set them tubeless so you can ride on low pressure then you drive about everywhere. Even lose sand at the beach 😉

    I added the ICE seat to the AZUB as I wanted the cushion of the ICE seat but liked the look and suspension of the AZUB. Also, the AZUB fits in the back of a hatchback. It does take some customization to swap out the seats though.

    Excellent video team! This is the 3rd I watched with my wife and it becomes sort of educational-soap-opera-fun-series , thanks for the entertainment, love every bit of it 😂 Topic is exactly on the spot, as I myself could not figure out which would be better choice for me, even I originally considered Azub Fat vs Ti-Fly. Heard Honza from Azub say 2.8”tires on Ti-Fly get that similar Fat trike feeling, but better. Maybe small video addition how this compares to 1.9” kind of tires on Ti-Fly, when u get time 😉 Stay well 👍

    I thought I noticed some side-to-side front wheel shimmy on both of the trikes in some parts of the video, but I'm wondering if it's:
    1. Larger diameter wheels will have some inherent side-to-side play from the side-loading that happens with trike wheels?
    2. More noticeable on the Full Fat so was it more a combination of the supple sidewalls of the Jumbo Jims in conjunction with the front suspension?
    3. Is it just micro steering corrections from the wheels being influenced by rolling over bumps?
    I ask all of this because I'm building my own custom full fat tadpole tandem trike and my wheels are based around Jumbo Jims, mainly because they have the lowest rolling resistance of any 26x4.0 tire and I really liked how they performed (even on pavement), on my Surly Pugsley. Anyway, I really enjoy watching your videos and it's always cool to see trikes out handling the rough stuff.

    • @nikkylandry1163
      @nikkylandry1163 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Azub all day long. Those clamps are going to die fast, from the ICE the Azub folding style will last a lot longer, Azub has 2 seat types, the mesh and a foam option, the tires can be 20" or 26" all 3, they have way better suspension especially in the front, it folds down smaller, not that I would ever fold them, just tie them down in the truck bed, and the Azub can go just as many places. The Azub sits lower, the lower you sit in a trike, the faster you can take a turn without feeling like you might die young. I don't like front brakes on my trikes, I delete them and only use the rear brake. Why because hauling ass down a hill one day, a kid walked into the road, I didn't want to impail said child with the spinky front sprocket and bar, so I smooshed both rear and front brakes hard, I mean really hard, that back wheel came off the ground, I was moving in the hardest available gear possible, down a hill, that was the most terrifying Ollie of my life. So as not to ever repeat that, I pulled off the front brakes and oddly enough, the trike lost about 30 pounds. And you can put fat tires on the Azub of you really, really want. It's harder to put regular size tires on a full fat.

    So probably a no brainer but I try to never assume question 1 can you take a trike on "singletrack" (mtb) question 2 can you jump a trike or would you break the frame where it folds 3rd Lewis talking smack to himself pretty funny

    • @UtahTrikesOnline
      @UtahTrikesOnline  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      We have not yet attempted to navigate a single track. My concern with a singletrack would be steep turns. A trike would not be able to perform quite as well around sharp corners. Can you jump a trike. Yes. You can jump a trike. Not sure what would happen when you hit the ground though. We wouldn't recommend it. One of our guys jumped a KMX a few years back and it did not end well.

  • @thierymorris4763
    @thierymorris4763 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Now I am over the shock of Lewis on duplicate! May I refer to your final comments. On many previous videos you have stated. “You want a trike your way. We can do it” you have shown that you develop and produce fixes for many problems. ie. you want larger rear wheel? No problem. With the Utah in house designed and manufactured extension brackets. Why is it then a problem to supply after sales suspension as an upgrade? You can explain why it is no longer standard and forward your recommendations based on your experience. Kait, Dylan and even Lewis are trusted sources of sound information based on facts and experience. If you feel the front suspension is to your clients advantage. Why are you not keeping it as an option?

    • @UtahTrikesOnline
      @UtahTrikesOnline  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      We didn't get much more information out of ICE as to why the change. We recently tried to order two Full Fats with front suspension and ICE told us it was no longer an option and asked us to update our online configuration. Could Utah Trikes work around those negative steering effects? Likely, but it's probably a project for the not-so-busy season in Nov, Dec.

  • @michaeltemple5005
    @michaeltemple5005 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Nice job in describing mods that would make the TiFly more dirt worthy, but you neglected to make comments on what would make the Full Fat more road worthy. How narrow a tire could you put on those rims? Could you put 20" front rims/tires with as narrow tires as you could and then put a fat slick on the back? I am assuming here that tire changes would be the the key variable, but of course some higher end range in gearing would help as well I suppose.

    Questions at Utah Trikes.
    For those who may not be looking at a recumbent trike what "granny style" trike would you suggest for commuting daily and can handle some light trail duties? That has 2wd rear end over the 1wd standard.
    And how many snacks is too much?

    • @UtahTrikesOnline
      @UtahTrikesOnline  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you can no longer pedal, you've had too many snacks. The Sun Baja would probably be the best "granny" trike for a little trail riding. It has the fatter tires and we can do the 2wd conversion on it. Unfortunately we won't be able to get any Baja's in stock until October.

    I would assume the quad is more stable?

    • @UtahTrikesOnline
      @UtahTrikesOnline  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The quad is definitely more stable, but there is some custom fabrication involved that really bumps the price up on the dumont quad. The fatter tires will also add a little bit more comfort to the ride. You could maybe throw some wider, knobbier tires on the standard dumont that would make it more suitable for off roading.

      Correct. Although if it's just suspension we're talking about, the Scorpion FS is right up there with the Ti FLY and that would likely be a good comparison to do a video on.

      If seen and drove the scorpion fs-26 with 24 inch front wheel, it gives you more ground clearance and easier rol over objects but you sacrifice some stability when sharp turning.

    I know price is a touchy subject. I am wondering about payment options that allows the seller get their desired selling price and some that doesn't require a fico score credit check (like accumulated monthly payments for a year or 6 months).
    When I hear 10k I think ya I can do that for 100 to 150 per month. But the instant gratification won't exist for seller. 150 a month for 12 months at 1,800 a year, for 6 years.
    Then I think is a 10k bike really necessary? Well to get the features I think I will need. YES! So, then think to myself, "if only I could 🤔....... ". Nothing I can think of nothing. Instantly I get images of the Jerry Mcguire movie scene of "show me the money" stuck in my brain 🧠.
    The best is going to cost no getting around that fact. Sheesh!
    Which is safer the quad or the trike? The quad has plenty of room in back for camping gear and rockhounding stuff and a small cooler for food. Its like the pickup truck of bikes.
    If only some kind of electric pully system could be developed that would pull the bike on top of the subaru car. Just line up the tires on some metal strut and push a button. I bet it would be easy to design but the added cost? Sheesh!
    A quad with independent suspension fat tires that can handle lava rock, has one crank arm 1 1/4 inch longer that the other. Has a bafang motor that can give me 35 mph assist.
    I really need to move to delta. Then I won't need a rack for car. I wonder if it would be worth having a different set of wheels for long distance road riding 🤔. Florescent orange and blue with a carbon fiber led pole with flag. Or Florescent orange with blue reflective tape.

      That's awesome! Are you comparing your $3,000 motorcycle to a $10,000 pedal electric hybrid? They're not really the same thing though right? Can't ride them the same places can you? Customers buying these trikes aren't really looking for motorcycles... I guess if they're spending $10k on a trike they could probably afford a $3k motorcycle if they wanted one...

      I merely fail to understand why anyone in their right mind would shell out for a trike, when you can buy a small car for the same price. I fail to understand cos it's not like a trike has any complexity to it at all...………… what are you ACTUALLY paying for ?? 10k

      Steven Keck wow that is so cool you ride so long and in so many areas.... do you feel safe on highways? Good you have a trike that adds to your life... love it. You go!

      I fail to see why i would want to pay for car/Automotive insurance, Fuel, License renewals, and repairs(and more im sure i forgot some stuff) if you happen to get hit or hit something? and what if you are a person who does not want to drive and dont live anywhere with public transit.

      I plan on selling my catrike 559 w/Bosch emotor! Less than 50 miles. Otherwise I'll have to trade it and Utah trikes don't take trades.

    Hi Guys & Gals,
    Really enjoy your videos, very well done and self explanatory. They have a degree of fun to them too.
    Getting to business, I live in Nova Scotia, Canada. We have miles of trails, mountains, beach and tons of snow in the winter months. So would be a great environment for a fat trike Quad. Would you people be interested in building me a trike and have it shipped to Canada? If so, I would be interested in talking to you people. I have mountain biked for a few years and really enjoy it but my age is catching up with me. I would like to try the quad trike, with power 750W. Live in Truro, Nova Scotia. B0N 1C0 Please answer this message and let me know.
    Thanks Barry M.
