I'm in this club - have a 98 M Roadster and a 99 M Coupe. That would be a good comparison video - same power and basic build, but very different drive.
Congrats Chris! This thing is pretty sweet! The last BMW I owned was a 2011 BMW 328i, nothing fancy but boy was it fun with the manual transmission. I swore off BMW because of the issues but I sure do miss them!
I have a 99 M Coupe (basically the same car). Great reliable S52 engine and nice overall performance. The shifting quirks you are experiencing are very likely due to the transmission shift pins that need replacement. Makes it feel like you can't find third and does not easily return from 5th. Going to drop the tranny on my car and do a full clutch job and also service the pins. Should shift super smooth after that.
I've driven our family friend's Z3M Coupe a number of times. Probably a bit clapped out, but always something to feel like the front is off the ground when you floor it. Punches above its 240HP number.
What a damn happy car. I drove a Z4 2.5 a couple years ago (obviously nowhere near as quick as this one), and I loved the sound. Z3 looks cooler than Z4 imo. Awesome buy!!!
The M roadster with the S54 is my absolute dream car.

I have a 1998 M Roadster as a Daily Estroil Blue as well. Purchased it for 20k with 42k miles
Seats are moving, because the bushings in the rails need to be replaced… it’s a flaw common to that model.
Yup, $700 bucks please!
Congrats! Fantastic car! I always wanted an M Roadster. Debated on getting a Z3 earlier this year. Now I'm rethinking..
Considering buying an imola red m roadster! Really looking forward to watch any z3 videos from you!
Great car! I would love to buy one of Z3 soon 👌🏼
We've got two for sale, this one and a silver 1.9 if you're interested!

All z3's show the needle on the temp gauge to be a little to the right.
Why does the US only get 240hp?

Omg… I was thinking of getting a S54 M roadster but damn all that rattle… I think I’ll get a new MX5 roadster instead lol
You can buy them in Canada here for as little as $ 10k that's like $ 7,500 USD 😁
You can buy a 1.9l Z3 for that with high miles. Not an M Roadster.
Feels like a Miata? @ 6:15 Go directly to car jail.
