A beautiful place to be ... when was the last time someone lived there ? ... do you own much land with the cabin ? ... was it expensive to buy ? ... sorry for so many questions but it intrigues me as my mother and father were born in Yugoslavia then lived in Salzburg , Austria for 12 years before emigrating to Australia in 1955 ... ive often thought to myself that i would like a simple life like what you are doing ... cheers and best wishes from West Australia ... so looking forward to following your progress in future videos !

The house hasn't been inhabited for about thirty years, it was rebuilt after the Second World War, in the early 50s. You say The dead forest! I remember a few years ago in the Alps nearby Torino there was a big fire in the forest for a few days! It is possible it was in your property. Ask you neibors.
Can you reforest by planting new saplings? The University of Idaho, Professor has excellent Forestry Program. I had brain surgery and manage 1000 acres of timberland. Best of luck to you.
Hi Gale! How are you? In theory yes, I can plant new trees, but it's not that simple. Unfortunately the biggest obstacle is the lack of water. Here in Italy we have been experiencing a bad situation for months. Even here where I am, where there was an abundance of water, the streams have dried up. It's the hottest November ever. I am inside a Natural Park, I can plant beech, pine, fir, chestnut, respecting the flora of the park. I am all ears for any advice on how to start reforesting, if there are any beech species etc that are less demanding and more temperature resistant. Not being an expert, maybe I'm asking for something impossible. Anyway I pray it rains 🙏☔

Idaho is a very forested state and offers college courses now thru the University of Idaho, Moscow, Idaho. It is a very well known University. The professor teaching Forestry there is young and ambitious. A great guy. I do not have his info available right now. Sorry. I'm sure Google has better info. I had just attended a forestry confrence, draught was a topic. We have Red Fir, Yellow Pine, Tamarack and Ponderosa Pine primarily. Beechwood I'm unaware of, however I'm certain the professor will have an answer. Best of luck to you, my italian is a bit rusty. Married name "was" Caprino lol
