I bought a G400 back in 2000 for $1200 Australian Dollars.. brand new. Sold it for $35 in 2006 when I went to 2 larger LCD monitors for work. Today I have 4K displays and OLED. Honestly I miss it... I miss it's color accuracy and outright smoothness. Nice video.
I would be helped by someone in the valuation of how much could it be worth now in real terms, such a monitor in advance, thank you very much for your help
alo, cool monitor. I used to have a Dell Trinitron at work but my manager tossed it one day because apparently it ''wasnt needed' when a new one showed up I snagged it and talked to my manager that I could buy it. I took it home less than a week later where it is now on my desk displaying the xbox 360 marketplace for the final time :P
very nice overview! I bought the G200 back in 1999. I still own it and it´s still working. But I think I get the G500 now. It´s "reasonably" priced at 200 euros used and has more real estate 😀
No one knows how good they have it till it’s gone. My super wide Alienware OLED is awesome for modern stuff but retro games still will always look best on period accurate hardware.
Regarding the refresh rate. It actually goes up to 120Hz! The 70Hz is what its maximum resolution (1800 x 1440) runs at. 1600 x 1200 @ 85Hz and 1280 x 1024 @ 85Hz are the "recommended resolutions". I've pushed the latter up to much over its recommended 85Hz. When you've gone too far, the monitor will give you the "out of scan range" message and will not display the screen.
Hey great video! I have an opportunity to pick up a compaq trinitron P900 (which is a rebranded Sony CPD-G400) , and i was wondering if you think it's worth me getting it for the listed price of $260.00 CAD?
i've got a Sony G520 monitor and it does not support 15 kilohertz. Lowest resolution is 480p at 30Khz. Specifications Maximum Resolution: 2048x1536 at 85 Hz Other common resolutions include 1600x1200 at 100 Hz, 1280x1024 at 120 Hz, and 1024x768 at 140 Hz. Horizontal Frequency: 30 to 130 kHz Vertical Frequency: 48 to 160 Hz Power Consumption: Typically around 150 watts Dimensions: Approximately 490 mm (W) x 500 mm (H) x 488 mm (D) Weight: Around 30 kg (66 lbs) Connectivity VGA (D-Sub 15-pin): Standard analog input for connecting to computers. BNC Connectors: Separate RGB inputs for higher quality video signals, often used in professional environments.

I am unsure about prices in Canada, but I would try and talk them down on it.
Is it worth to buy this monitor? Is it decent enough to be used as a daily driver compared to LCD display of today?
depends what LCD you have currently. it definitely is better than any older LCD I have used.
Dunno if you’re still active but can I ask how you got it centered so well? I’m struggling to get it right
It took a little bit, but my unit was well taken care of and had one previous owner.
Since this is a multiscan does that mean it supports 240p/480i 15khz?
yes
@@Puretea4711 Fairly certain that this information is false, the monitor will not support 15khz
i've got a Sony G520 monitor and it does not support 15 kilohertz. Lowest resolution is 480p at 30Khz.

Connectivity

BNC Connectors: Separate RGB inputs for higher quality video signals, often used in professional environments.
Most monitors that say "multiscan" are 31 khz minimum which means that they won't accept 240p. Ones that actually do are very rare and old.
0:01 what’s the sound and cup
ahh I originally used the Playstation Startup sound mildly distorted. I see no copyright strikes so I assume something happened in editing.
