It’s always a treat to get books for gifts 🎁. More special is getting an autographed copy from one of the authors! Great post Joe! Looking forward to more in 2024!
I skipped that book but did appreciate that it took 2 Americans to show us where Beatle sights are in my own country. Cool gift Joe. It must be frustrating not being able to a drive to see the slights.
I remember wanting to purchase this book many years ago, but as a teenager never had the money to buy it. I thought then my money was better spent on vinyl. Glad I was right! An excellent book for sure. I do regret not buying it. It would still be in my collection. I did just pick up the Beatles - Get Back book from Ollies for a mere $12. What a deal!
@@MeanMrMayo it really does technology-wise back then we wouldn't know all the Beatles stops that was in the book because we didn't have access to computers like we do today.
Terrific book , used it in 1994 in trip to Liverpool and London and as a reference for trip to Hamburg in 2009. Plus it is nice that he has a TH-cam channel. Interesting guy. Nice of him to send you a copy.

Hi Joe. Very cool book, it very cool that Norman was a first generation Beatles fan & heard them in real time. Speaking of books, i remember buying beatles books in the 70's, one was called An Illustrated Record, i bought at a bookstore in a mall i thnk it was Waldenbooks, i loved that book. The other book i bought in the 70's, was when i was visiting my grandparents in florida, i think the store was in a mall, i think the name of the book was Memories or growing-up with the Beatles, the cover had flowers in front of them. Today i have a nice little collection of cool Beatles books & speaking of pins i have a nice little collection of pins, some rare ones.
@@MeanMrMayothere were two vol of An Illustrated Record, I had vol1 the cover had a young Beatles, the famous image of Ringo sitting on the chair, with the other three around him. Vol 2 had them in their Sgt Peppers Uniforms.
Lovely book Joe!....Its interesting to see these older books on Beatles...I have a few and they are like timepieces...I have the great big coffee table size book think it came out same time as the anthology series!!! Happy New Year Keith UK
Hi Joe - So I am watching this video and I hear you talk about a Beatles show from many years ago. A show that was on college radio from Adelphi Univ. Well, I was the co-host of that show, "The Beatles Hour," which was heard every Monday night from 1979 to 1984 on WBAU 90.3FM. We had a pretty good listenership which I guess included you! Wild to hear you mention it! Your name is familiar and I think may may have even written us. Way back then we were the original TH-camrs. Haha. Anyway, I still love the Beatles and thanks for the big smile you gave me.
Hell, yes! And I was a regular weekly caller known as "The Beatlemaniac"! Yep...of course I recall you, as well as Al and Tom. And the annual get-togethers at the campus in August! I vividly recall everyone's excitement when we learned that John Lennon was back in the studio recording again ... and then you guys did the usual Monday night show that sad December 8th, just a few hours before we lost John. As a matter of fact, I recorded many shows on cassette and still had them for years. During Hurricane Sandy I broke them out and played many of them on an old battery operated tape player, while the lights and electric was out! When I moved in 2015 I can't recall whether I took them with me or not ..? So amazing to hear from you, Jeff - wow! And yes, "Original TH-camrs" is a perfect description!
Joe - After I sent the message to you last night I thought that I bet Joe was "The Beatlemaniac," as his name was Joe and that is the case. That is so great! Can't believe how many years have passed but all is good and I still enjoy following and talking Beatles. A lot of great memories from that show along with the one unfortunate one from Dec. 1980. I have watched your videos but never made the connection. Glad I heard the reference to the show yesterday!
hi joe, a really beautiful book that mazzy gifted to you! very kind and thoughtful friend for sure. it will be a keepsake for your love of the beatles and of your friend who shares your enthusiasim and joy for them as well, so much that he wrote a book about them! quite a gift, thanks for sharing this unique item, take care, rob
HI Joe, Hope you had a wonderful Christmas. What a wonderful and very kind thing for Mazzy to do. Wish there was more people like that. There would be peace on earth again. Take care, Joe
That's really cool! Mazz was involved with writing a book?! Wow very cool! Yeah I knew that he went to all these Beatles sites.. But no idea that he was involved in writing a book.. Cool! Enjoy MrMayo.. )^_-)/
Except Norman recently repeated in one of your live streams the totally false stupid thing Pete Townsend said about The Beatles musicianship in a 1966 interview. In a 2009 interview Pete Tonsend said that The Beatles were always musically innovative.
What a kind, special gift to receive from Mazzy, especially around the holidays! Enjoy it Joe!

Yes I did quote what Pete said in 66. And I know he said how innovated they were too.
