I put colored heat shrink on end . when strap to pole i just fold back and rubber band extra wire. stays 1.7 SWR or less threw the hole band. I cut wire for 10/11/12 meters . mono band. and FT 240-61 core wound 49:1 with 100 PF cap. works great. I did notice with a good band pass filter of low pass filter I loose receive on weather band. I normally do not use. I have other weather radio that has SAME display and different color LED for different alert. and most of my HT's have weather . They have been doing a great job getting weather alerts out the past few years. great for campers . that delay in roger beep is one of the stock ones radio comes with . The one you added is real nice . I got told the stock mick sounds great. thought I has a better mic on radio. a good tune does that . I may wire up my HEIL head set up to the QT 60. I got the one ear yellow one with boom mic. wired for ICOM 7300 and have either foot switch or hand trigger. I use foot switch mostly. gives me 2 hands to type with . 73's
Good video. Have one of these from Scott’s. Reaches out very well. Added the same mic and adapter. Talked to Las Vegas and AZ last weekend as we were getting into the grey area as the sun went down. Got good audio reports. Need to get more info on the blue mic wire. Didn’t pick up on why desoldering is needed.
It's a user preference. Personally I don't care for the factory microphone. I prefer the K-PO NM532 on my CB or 10-Meter model radios. I have also had good luck with it on my HF models.

I’m definitely going to take this as a compliment for the Radioddity QT 60 and QT 40. Subtly, they have actually produced a great radio with a fair price.
Another good video. Well explained. The stock mic on my Anytone 5555 gets many positive comments on it's audio.

I love the upper HF bands. 12 and 10 have always been a favorite!

Some radios require it. Generally no problem with QT60/5555 N2
I get those weather alerts all the time going by on I-69 22:06
They will definitely wake you up when not expecting it.
