deez nuts I did listen to the song, many of times. He didn’t flat out say I wish this person died. The whole time he was saying an ignorant deal of god take this person and give this figure back. At the end of the song he admits he doesn’t know why he’s saying it and that he’s just frustrated and doesn’t know what to do. He then says I know it’s not your fault it’s the devil’s work. Now I interpreted this line as meaning both the fucked up shit happening and his way of thinking are results of the devil’s work. If you noticed when he walks into the church he’s drunk and has the bottle of Henny. After he’s done praying / venting to god he leaves the bottle of Henny and takes the Bible with him. This is why I think he didn’t wish death on anyone, he’s frustrated and his “solution” was warped by the alcohol and the evil in the world. But I didn’t listen I guess

You honestly might have a better understanding of the song as I didn't notice the nuances of the video. I also do think that saying "bring this person back, but take this other person with you" is a definite form of wishing death. If you want somebody to walk that shadow of death, they must pass. We can wish someone wasn't taken too soon from this world, but we also don't need to replace the lost soul with another.
