It appears that at some point in his earlier life, someone wired his muzzle shut. That's what the white lines on his snout look like to me. He must have been intentionally abused. Glad you could rescue him and bring him back to health.
That was my thought, exactly, as many black animals grow white hair out of skin that's been damaged. All I ask is that innocent bystanders are well out of the way when the Karma Bus comes for whoever abused him and they gets theirs.

I'm glad these kind people had saved Alfy the poor thing has been through so much in such a short time. Oh how I wish that animal abuse doesn't exist but it does anyway sadly sad to say the least. I have 4 big German shepherd boys. This broke my heart. They are some of the most loving, protective, loyal best friends you’ll ever have. I’m glad he got a home that treasures him. ❤

Alfie deserves all the love everyday from his adopted parents. He is lucky he was found in time. There is no need of anyone starving any domesticated animal. There are many animal welfare organizations who will provide food if anyone needs assistance. Many shelters want to see dogs and cats in loving foster care or be adopted. I am happy he gained weight and is learning commands. Best of all he is receiving love. He is a beautiful German Sheperd. ❤🐕
Wow, that poor poor puppy. It broke my heart to think how hungry that puppy must have been, for so long. Thank goodness Allie was found by the right people, helped by the right rescue, and adopted into a loving home. He is a beautiful dog. What kind of monster did that to him?! Well he was horribly abused by his family it seems and they had apparently from what it looks like had wired his muzzle shut as a puppy at some point in his young life and was then dumped and left to die by his so called family that didn't want him anymore. This kind of thing is getting more and more common to see now these days unfortionently and its not just dogs like Alfie either but also horses and cats and sheep and donkey's too. And also birds and tigers and lions and all animals really actually.

There are so many options open for people who can’t care for their pets: Humane Society, SPCA, small and large rescues. It takes a really disturbed individual to starve, abuse, neglect an animal as a choice. Laws need to be strengthened and enforced to protect these innocents.
