What a journey! We built this tiny A-frame cabin every other weekend over the course of six months and let me tell you... it seriously tested our patience but we pushed through and are so proud of the end result!
This tiny A-frame will be used as an airbnb and we'll be adding more videos of the deck/landscape/setup etc once we complete those projects so stay tuned!
As mentioned in the previous videos we are total amateurs. We have made our fair share of mistakes but they were great learning opportunities and we've come a long way.
Thank you for following along on this journey with us and don't hesitate to comment below if you have any questions.

The A frame is the most sleek, simple, yet sophisticated design in my opinion. Nicely done.
Thank you so much for your kind words 😊
Yessir. A-Frames are also really nice cause they save a pretty good amount of materials. An A frame cabin with a loft bedroom can end up having just as much space as a normal cabin, while also looking interesting AND being cheaper. :)
L'unico problema è che vicino alle pareti a causa degli angoli non si può arredare Come si vuole e, a parità di metri quadri, ha meno spazio di una casa normale però il lavoro per costruirla è molto minore e il materiale molto meno
I just got the idea, now I know how do mine, your guys did it really simple to understand, I saw a video where a guy made the bathroom separated of the A-cabin, between the A-cabin and bathroom he made a small wood floor with a couple chairs! Thanks for the video, its great!
The bathroom video will be coming out soon and we built it right near the a frame. Thanks for watching! 😊
Ficou um show de beleza e charme 😊
I absolutely love it thank you for sharing 😊

Thank you for your kind worlds and for watching! 😊
I really like this content, it continues to triumph
Thank you for saying that, it means a lot to us! 😊
Cute and cozy! Hopefully one day we can own on our property.
Reminded me of the time when me and my dad built his house 1500 sq ft 3 bdrm A frame .We did every single thing from dirt work to finished even snowed on us lol 2 ,1/2 years paycheck to paycheck hauled everything on the roof of our car best memories of my life .only mistake we couldn't fix was only doing it once ,we should of kept building other houses stay strong and follow your dreams .👍🏘
That’s amazing! I can’t imagine the work that went into doing that. This A-frame seriously tested us and it’s teeny tiny. But like you, memories were definitely made. Thanks for watching!
buen trabajo, felicidades!!😍
Thank you so much! ☺️
What a great job. I am planning on building the Diedricksen A frame in late fall.
Probably no renting. Just an extra hangout and place for guests.
I haven’t heard of that one before, I’ll check it out. Good luck on the build!
I’ve built the diedricksen, variation without the swing out as it’s in wild animal and the occasional bear country. Used 2x6 for the main A frames and walls, I have no doubt it could be put on a trailer / it’s solid as a rock. The little buddy propane heater is ample even without insulation in the NC winter. Keep in mind a light colored roof keeps the temp down substantially in the summer, and a small vent near the floor on one end and a small vent near the ceiling on the other naturally cools it too. Enjoy your build!
@mesprojects674 I built it and man is it great. I get a lot of compliments on it. My wife and I go out there and enjoy our music and beverages.
My son stayed in it a couple nights when he visited.
Great job. 🎉 .
Thank you!
Awesome build guys
Thank you! 🙌
Parabéns amigos! muito lindo o chalé da família, decoração nota 1000
Thank you so much! 😊
Thank you so much! 😊
I like the dormers for the windows that will give you nice cross ventilation and just looks nice. I’m assuming you are not going to Air BnB this in the winter, I didn’t see you put in any insulation under the floor or sidewalls. Nice build and a good look.
We insulated the whole A-Frame as seen in the second half of the video. We will be adding a direct vent propane heater in the fall and will be open in the winter. Thanks for watching! ☺️
@@TheDoerDuo I must have missed something I will rewatch the video your ideas are good. I want to build a ham shack in the wooded part of my mountain property. And a small A frame might just work because of the roof tip. 73
Top demais. Parabéns
Thank you!
NICE WORK...NICE RESULTS!!!
Thank you! 😊
Turn your cement blocks where the holes are running up and down they will bost the way you have them laying
Thanks for the tip
i love the products in the car. get it done. no limits
We don’t have fancy equipment so the car is a huge asset!
@@TheDoerDuo Showed this to my wife as she has been on many a similar journey back from the DIY store packed in between sheets of timber just like this! 🙂
Thank you for sharing the complete process of building an A-frame cabin. Sincerely
Thank you for watching! It was a fun project
Hello, I watched the video. You created a very beautiful house and I must say it's great
Thank you so much! 😊
smart with the buckets
We work with what we’ve got. No fancy equipment here. Basically buckets and a lawn mower with a dump cart. 😂
Love it great job
Thank you! 😊
ขอบคุณสำหรับความรู้จาก Thailand ครับ❤
It's awesome..
I love it...
Thanks you! 😊
Great and wonderful work is a cute cage.
Thank you! 😊
Great job, well done guys. If you do another one, use wooden pins or nails, not screws for the framing, outside the stresses and strains from the elements will require the frame to be a little flexible. Screws are great where there is no movement and will snap when put under tension, where as a pin or nail will bend, which also helps stop the timber from splitting. 8~)
I’ve never even heard of wooden pins but it makes a whole lot of sense. Thanks for the tip!
Bad advice. Nails actually back out and get loose over time due to expansion/contraction due to temp/moisture changes. Modern structural screws are designed to compensate for this. It's not like the old days where the screw heads would just pop off if the wood expanded. You guys absolutely made the correct choice.
@@TheDoerDuo Hi can you please tell where the location and how much total to build a such tiny house including land or instruction it? I can help you with something else such as I learned 《feng shui》many problem I saw in American house inside......and I can help to adjust that I can bring many people for purchasing such house but please reply with details!
Super , me encantó!!!
Thank you!! 😊
Well done my friend❤.
Thank you! 😊
I love your work on this "A"-frame. I will use the technique along with two small wooden yurts on the ends. Do you have the plans for this beautiful structure for a fee?
Thank you so much and that sounds like a great idea! We bought plans on Etsy from elevated spaces but added dormers of our own which we learned from various TH-cam videos. Good luck on your build!
Love it. Do u have a list of materials /quantity and the dimensions of cabin?
I don’t have a list but we based the build largely off of the plan by elevated spaces on Etsy. The size is 10x12 ft.
素敵です!
Thank you! 😊
nice bro good job work
Thank you!
❤❤ wow amazing
Thank you! 😊
How cool would it be to connect 4 sections like this into a cross shape? 2 of the "arms" could be large bedrooms.
That would be cool!
Beautiful!!
Thank you! 😊
Awesome, congrats
Thanks so much! 😊
Amen. Amen. I love you. Ha lle lu ya. Shalom. Shalom.
Thank you!☺️
nice cabin
Thanks so much!
Looks nice!
Maybe make it another 15 feet longer and add a few items.
But a quality job nonetheless.
Thank you! We keep our cabins small on purpose. We specialize in creating tiny cozy glamping experiences for a max of two people per stay.
Hola me encanto quedo hermosa cual es el alto que queda la construcción y felicitaciones ..gracias 🇨🇱
Thanks for watching! The A-Frame is about 12ft in height.
Amazing!
Thank you!! 😊
I’m glad you got rid of the plastic.
Same!
Great accomplishment & wish you well with th AirBnB.. Just curious why you didnt insulate the floor.... Wasnt shown in the video did you use calking around the windows? & I guess more to come means a heat source???? Lots of fun watching your family working on a great project.....
Yeah, we decided to make it a seasonal rental so we didn’t add insulation to the floors but added insulation to the walls for noise cancelling as the a-frame is a few hundred feet off of a road. We’re kicking ourselves now because we’d like to add a direct vent propane heater to extend the season. We’re on the fence. Thanks for watching! 😊
@@TheDoerDuo your build really resonated with me I thought about this after - mostly how it would stand the test of time... Wondered also about critters getting under neath & nesting.. You got this.. keep up the great work.... Look forward to the next build or build out !!!
@@speliotis thank you for following along. We’ve got our eye on the next project. Our last cabin has been up for almost two years with high traffic and she’s standing strong so hopefully this one will do the same 🤞

So nice i loved❤❤❤❤❤❤

Invest in a impact driver and torx screws, its a life changing discovery lol.
We’re definitely going to invest in those for our next build.
I was going to suggest the same thing. Dewalt makes a bunch of cordless tools (circular saw, sawzall, 1/4" impact driver). The Impact would cut you screwing time in probably a 1/4. Invest in the bigger batteries though, bc those tools use lots of power. Also as a contractor, I only use T25 screws, they seen to slip WAY less.
Thanks for the tips! We’re learning as we go and constructive info like this really helps us out. 😊
Very pretty
Thank you! 😊

May I know the size of your A frame. Looks stunning. I feel inspired
Thank you! We’re glad you like it. It’s a 10x12ft A-frame with a roof height of 11ft
Hey guys, how did you come up with the design plans for the cabin? Also, any books or videos you recommend as a guide to do what you did? Great video btw!
Thank you! We followed the majority of the build with plans bought on Etsy (Elevated Spaces Shop) by @jeffwaldman. We added the dormers ourselves and a metal roof instead of the plastic roof for more stability.
@@TheDoerDuoawesome, ty for the advice
This is like a queen size OYO bedroom where couple go for a quicky and then get out ..
The people who rent it may use it as they please as long as they take care of it
Cute A frame. Was there any sort of vapor barrier installed for the floor?
Thank you! No, it’s elevated but we didn’t insulate the floor. It’s a seasonal rental.
God bless you🙏🙂❤️
It’s so gorgeous!! 🥰😍 Just curious to learn. What was being painted on the inside of the walls before insulation was installed ? It was the color white. Thanks!
Thank you!! We initially weren’t going to add insulation so we started painting the walls white.

Cảm ơn các bạn đã chia sẻ trông nó thật tuyệt vời ❤❤❤

If you build another one take my professional advice as a licensed home inspector. Put roof felt on the inside walls first, then put Styrofoam panels, then R13 sheets, then cover all with plastic drop cloth stapled. Then put your wallcoverings, e.g., wood panels etc. Your heating bill if you use little pot belly type electric heaters from Lowe's etc , will run about $65.00 only a month. The same billing for summer using 5,000 btu wall A/C's.
That’s great advice thanks! We appreciate it ☺️
the window bump outs OMG
Hello! Nice job! Can i ask yoy wich store you fiind this 4 ciment Block for corners to put de wood frame? How they named?
Thank you!
They are called deck blocks and are sold at any big box building store like Home Depot or Lowe’s
