I had a Backbone for a couple of days but sent it back for a couple of reasons - 1: The software did not allow you to add your own games. 2: I wanted it as a dedicated system using an extra android phone, but leaving the phone connected drained the battery overnight when not being used. I wonder if case 2 applies to the Gamesir ?
This is better than x3, the cooler on x3 are almost useless, it doesn't had extra button, the L2/R2 is act as clicky not accelerate, also the x3, doesn't had black colours, and the x2 pro button feels better
I play codm using this gamepad using mapping its kinda cheat lol, iam on legendary ranks, playing deathmatch its very fun 😂😂😂 my phone xperia 5 mark ii, fyi i had flydigi wee 2t iam actually surprise how good this gamepad compared to flydigi wee 2t.
Need update about the software update.Have you ever experience any issue about some buttons,joystick or triggers not working when updating the software?
I shaved that rubber or grip or whatever you want to call it that the phone bottoms out on when you plug it into the phone down a little bit so I can keep my case on my phone It works perfect lol
@@hartomethod yes it is, I enjoy playing my Xbox game pass while at work the only bad thing is that it's difficult disconnecting my phone I'm always afraid I'm about to break the USB not my phone.

I don't have an XBox anymore but would you recommend this over the Playstation Backbone? Honestly I just wanna use it to play Honkai Star Rail, COD Mobile & Wuthering Waves..I don't want to get the G8 model tho
thanks for the review! i got the x2 pro ... but had to send it back, even when the hardware quality feels really premium and the extra accesories are very nice, i didn't feel ok giving all those permissions to the gamesir app just to remap when other apps do the same without that hassle and the huge turndow was the passtrough charge didn't work fully for my phone, it gave charge, but the controller became unusable, also another problem whas when i tried to calibrate the device as the instructions says, i lost the use of the left trigger, and had to look on internet how to enable it again, and seems thats a common problem with this device, i really wanted to like it but, again, even when the hardware is great, it feel bad having all these problems since day 1, probably will get a razer kishi v2 instead
I understand and agree. I really don’t like the permission side and I also almost bought the kishi as well. I held on to the gamesir because I mostly play emulators or gamepass streaming and it works via no app for those. If you do get the kishi let me know how you like it compared to the gamesir!
Is gamesir x2 pro is compatible with yuzu emulator now ?? Because I have seen a old video where it shows it was not compatible. If not then is there a work around of it ?.
Thanks for the response Can you please check it once. The reason for not supporting is because x2 pro for yuzu was it is Xbox licence so yuzu is not detecting the controller. Please if possible can you try to check it once ?
@@hartomethod i was able to secure one with a friend that travelled to the US and brought it to me, ordered from Amazon. I had the regular X2 before (not the pro), great controller as well but having to remove the case was a little annoying because it would mess with my screen protector when i had to put the case back
I got mine today. I hate the short tiny grips. Also I wish the right analog stick was swapped in place of the 4 buttons. I find it hard to reindex after button presses.
basic question. I have s24 ultra. I never played a game on phone or tv etc. Can this device is useful if I download a free game from android playstore and use this device to play?
They made THE perfect phone controller and still launched a new one with changes that NOBODY asked for and for some reason didn't make the X2 Pro compatible with USB C type iPhones.
I got mine a couple of months ago. I'm really enjoying it, but with my phone (Vivo y55 4G) it takes a long time to connect, sometimes taking like 10 minutes before the connection through usb-c is stable. Once connected, its won't disconnect again. Really strange and I haven't found any comments anywhere from someone else with the same issue
You need either WiFi or 5G connection and you can. Play games from console and play store that are controller friendly can't get button mapping yet tho I've played madden from console if you have disc that disc has to be in the Xbox itself and have your Xbox or PlayStation in sleep mode and set up for console set to game on phones the app itself has games on it that are plug and play it has pass through charging works but isn't fast charging I'm using note 20 ultra 5G
Shame about not fitting a phone with a case though. Id hate to remove/put back if i do use it...are there any other controllers that are ok with a case?
Yeah I find it kind of annoying to remove. There isn’t a controller that I know of where you can use while having a case on. One work around could be having a Usbc extender
@@hartomethod i was reading that some people "shave down" the area where the USC plug in is, so a phone case could fit. I dont own one but Im assuming theres like a rubber piece to protect the phone, but since if you can make the case fit, it shouldnt matter.

It works fairly well with codm. I Bluetooth controller will work and feel better. This controller maps to the touchscreen controls so it’s not as fluid as a Bluetooth controller (which does not mimic touch screen). I haven’t tried aim assist on Bluetooth but I’d guess it’s similar
so I keep getting an error saying something went wrong everytime I try to download the app, this is scanning to code, also if I just search on google play I cant find the app, any idea whats the problem ?

I’d recommend the x2 pro. As far as its software goes… I’ve seen people use it and I’ve seen people try to avoid it. If you plan on using button mapping, I’d use another controller brand like razer or backbone
I have one and it has done nothing but make me mad. When playing call of duty mobile the sensitivity is super high. I dropped it down to 8 in the app and it is still uncontrollable.
Have you adjusted it in both the gamesir app and on call of duty? The analog stick for this is more mimicking and finger drag rather than an actual analog stick

Download the dolphin emulator from their website. You can also get Aethersx2 from the google play store. There are a good amount of tutorials that can help walk you through the process if you get lost during it. I also have a video coming out very soon about emulation performance on the pixel 6 so you can also watch that for some help!

I'm considering buying this one since I have been willing a lot to play my Xbox Game Pass App I got in my Samsung S9. But I'm very scared of buying it and not work at the app. So I do have to a some question: Do I need to do any kind of process to properly set the controller to play Game Pass games or I just plug the phone in the controller and start playing? I heard from somebody that I might need to do some process of activating remote play on my console and in the app to do it, so I'm extremely confused. I'll be very much appreciatted if you can answer :]
This is straight plug and play. No app needed. Also I don’t recall having to set up remote play on anything but again, I game-streamed from the x cloud servers. If you want to stream from your own console there may be a setting to enable but it shouldn’t be complicated at all. I’d highly recommend this controller!
I can't use my gamepad for the games that dont have controller support even i have successfully mapped the buttons.. I already enabled Usb debugging and wireless debug to activate to V-touch mode.. it seemed that the issue is with the V touch mode.. I hope you can help me. Thanks!

I got it all setup but for some reason the bindings don't work on codm. Set my buttons , joysticks, and everything, but no response

That’s a great price range for something great. What size laptop are you looking for? There are a few options I can recommend for 14inch but also some that are slightly bigger.
I’d take a look at the ASUS ROG strip scar. It’s more focused on gaming but it will handle school work no problem. The only issue you’re going to run into with “most” of these gaming laptops is that they don’t have the best battery life. If you’re gonna be doing school remotely and moving a lot, you’ll need to most likely plug into an outlet (just something to consider). You can also go a little cheaper and check out the ASUS tuff brand laptops. These have some good specs on them depending on what you want. If you want something small the ASUS ROG Zephyrus line. They have a 14 and 15 inch version.
I don’t. In the gamesir menu button there’s a key mapper they automatically assigns your screen based on the game you’re playing. But like I mentioned I uninstalled the app because I wasn’t a fan
I've done a lot to this. Trying to get it to connect to my Android. It doesn't work. Keypad says it's working I've gone from both choices Xbox and the other. I've had this for several years now it's never worked
Be careful with your phone's depth. My phone is 9.7mm deep and it doesn't fit the controller, even thouhgh the website says devices with a depth up to 12mm will fit.
Hey this is a great review, Im thinking of picking this up to game on my phone but thing is that my phone is a 21:9 phone so its tall but not very wide so not a big viewing experience lol
I’m not entirely sure. The website does have a list of supported devices but from I’ve seen, “most” Usbc phones are supported as long as it fits in the controller.

I have one, useless piece of plastic. It's compatible with my Honor 10, but if the battery is above 20% my phone does not recognize the device as a controller. I tried everything, debug permissions, etc...and I'm not the only one having this issue. Steer clear fellas...
Native apps with controller support should work out of the box. If the games only have on screen controls then you’ll have to use the application to map them

You can actually swap the physical buttons to match the buttons on the app you're running as they are held in by magnets.

If you use the gamesir software, it will work with any game. If you don’t use the software, some android games will still work.
Just ordered mine in white myself. Brilliant product and much better than my original X2.

Are you emulating these games? If they’re mobile games and support controller then this should work. Emulators also work

Yeah it will depend on the case you have. I personally rather just take it out of the case than alter the controller itself but that’s up to the user!

How do you get V touch mode enabled, mine just says key mapping not supported yet. Its all updated and i have no instructions on how to enable v touch
Did you use the gamesir app? There are some direction included with the controller that walk you through it. You have to enable it in the settings.

There should be a community made binding option for codm that you can set in the settings

If you’re gonna be doing school remotely and moving a lot, you’ll need to most likely plug into an outlet (just something to consider).
You can also go a little cheaper and check out the ASUS tuff brand laptops. These have some good specs on them depending on what you want.
If you want something small the ASUS ROG Zephyrus line. They have a 14 and 15 inch version.
Is any switch emulator working with this controller? I just bought one and I hope that I don't have to return it
From my experience all emulators pick up the controllers input. I haven’t tried switch but I don’t see why it wouldn’t work

I don’t. In the gamesir menu button there’s a key mapper they automatically assigns your screen based on the game you’re playing. But like I mentioned I uninstalled the app because I wasn’t a fan

Yeah! You might need to use the gamesir app to map the on screen controls but it’s definitely possible
I've done a lot to this. Trying to get it to connect to my Android. It doesn't work. Keypad says it's working I've gone from both choices Xbox and the other. I've had this for several years now it's never worked
Did you check the website for compatibility to your android phone? It should be plug and play so I can’t think of any other reason it wouldn’t work

Be careful with your phone's depth. My phone is 9.7mm deep and it doesn't fit the controller, even thouhgh the website says devices with a depth up to 12mm will fit.

Hey this is a great review, Im thinking of picking this up to game on my phone but thing is that my phone is a 21:9 phone so its tall but not very wide so not a big viewing experience lol

I’m not entirely sure. The website does have a list of supported devices but from I’ve seen, “most” Usbc phones are supported as long as it fits in the controller.
@@hartomethod yeah I know. I already tried the razer kishi and this didn't work, that's why I am concerned. The controller worked fine but the passthrought charging didn't.
If it’s the pass through charging you want then this might not work either. You can charge it but you can’t use it while charging it.

I have one, useless piece of plastic. It's compatible with my Honor 10, but if the battery is above 20% my phone does not recognize the device as a controller. I tried everything, debug permissions, etc...and I'm not the only one having this issue. Steer clear fellas...

Native apps with controller support should work out of the box. If the games only have on screen controls then you’ll have to use the application to map them

Yeah the headphone jack portion is unfortunate. I did use Bluetooth headphones tho and they sounded good!
I think that's the main downside to this device. Not sure if there's a way to avoid removing the case which also sucks.
