There is a sorrow that comes with old age.. you realize that you are watching the sands run down. All is ending, all the beauty you knew is now fading and there is no returning it. Your beloved has died and gone before you. You grieve for what has been lost and you remember that every generation is exactly as you are, now. We are born, we live for time and think we are immortal... but, then, those are around you grow old and you are too, grow old and the end is coming. For the first time in my life, I feel old. Very old. Time is the great master of everyone and everything, at least, here, on earth. I felt that poignant sorrow as you sung Arwen's part. So much has faded and failed.

My favorite thing about the instrumental is the transition to the ending at 5:10; after Aragorn sang his oath, the scene directly after in the film, he tells the hobbits "My friends, you bow to no one," and that's when this part of the song plays.

I’ve fallen in love with Tolkien’s works in recent years. Every time I hear this song I can’t hold in my emotions. Especially with my religious background, that first part of the song reminds me of Christ coming from the sea asking Peter to have faith and to come to him in the storm.

Out of all the lotr songs and themes. Elendils oath was something I always loved the most and you guys were able to make it even better! I'm playing at my wedding!!!
And just a month ago, at sunrise of May day, Aragorn entered the city and received the crown from Faramir, Frodo, then Gandalf. Beautiful.
Yeah they missed the opportunity to do it on 5/1/19 which is the date Aragorn was crowned but can’t get em all!
This may be your best piece yet. At the part of Aragorn's ancestors, I felt like I was standing at the gates of heaven.
Awesome quality as always. Clamavi de Profundis never ceases to amaze me
This song is so beautiful
Tolkien was and will always be, unmatched in philology and prose, a true master who's works were all a Magnum Opus. My great gratitude to those who composed the music to the great works.
Dear Santa,
I know it's a bit early to message you, but this Christmas, I would be overjoyed if I could receive a "making-of" video of Clamavi De Profundis. I want to see how they create their magical music, and it would be like a treasure that fills my heart with joy and inspiration.
Jokes aside, the sight of a fresh upload from you folks never fails to brighten my day, especially when it's a song from Middle-earth. Your ability to infuse it with enchantment never ceases to amaze me. You have truly mastered the art of capturing the magic of Tolkien's world. Once again, a tear escaped my eye. Your work holds a special place in my heart, and I sincerely hope you continue creating indefinitely.❤
Another incredible song, with some theme from the films, thank you all ❤
Approved by the man himself!
_In sorrow we must go, but not in despair. Behold! we are not bound for ever to the circles of the world, and beyond them is more than memory_
Last words of Aragorn were hopefull: in Valinor, the life of love He lived with Arwen would have been only a memory. But Her choice was the Gift of Men, so She would live again by His side, the side of the Man She, Elven Maiden, loved above all.
That's why Death is a Gift and not a Doom, nor a Bane. Because it will still be Life, and not just Memory
love the artwork too the charcoal and pencil work is fabulous
There is no one better than Clamavi De Profundis who brings Tolkien's work to life through music
I didn't know Keanu Reeves was an ancestor of Aragorn
How did you not know
Apparently Christina Bale is also one of his ancestors, the one on the far right at the end of the video looks exactly like Mr. Bale 😂
And hugo weaving it looks like too although hes Lord Elrond already😭@@vladyakubets
And the one to the right looks like Hugh jackman
:DDD perfect comment
This song is one of my favourites! So glad you decided to cover it 😊😊 at this point my music consumption is 75% Clamavi de Profundis lol
The Dunedains. A superior and yet noble race of men. Even the elves were amazed at the feats they managed to accomplish.
Ah, J.R.R. Tolkien, the sublime Catholic genius… SIGH… 😌
And you good, musically talented folk, that do Tolkien’s vision justice… SIGH… 😌
What does being catholic change anything to Tolkien's genius?
@@BabyDox I think you misunderstand me: being profoundly and traditionally Catholic is an integral part of Tolkien’s literary genius! 🙂
@@josemiguelmarquescampo4902 because it's just all fantasy?
@@BabyDox , ah… but “fantasy” in Tolkien the Catholic, you see, is REAL. 😌
To me, 'The Lord of the Rings' marks the high water mark of Western culture - a culmination of all the remarkable artistic and creative energy of European civilization, the last great flash of beauty before the fall.
Sounds kinda fashy, pal
@@SentimentalFellaVA it's fascist to appreciate European culture?
Never apologize for your heritage
@@glenntungay5140 Fetishism of “Western culture” has always been associated with xenophobia, racism, or fascism. There is no such thing as “Western civilization.” It is used as a catch all term for “everything in history that I think is based and also cool.” It is a dog whistle for “Man, we white people made all the coolest stuff, had all the smartest thoughts, and wrote all the epicest books!” You demean yourself.
@@brucecrosby1981 Art from Europe can be awesome. I adore thé cathedrals. But see my previous comment. The man’s dog whistling fascism. And I think that’s the last thing Tolkien would have wanted his songs or writing to be associated with.
I've had this on repeat since it dropped an hour ago, can't get enough of it
Eru Iluvatar is crying so hard as to create another sea, right now. Just, stunning work.
My eyes get watery when i remind my self of this scene in the movie and to think all of it was made coz Tolkien wanted to make a language
This very beautiful, divine even cried here dude, you guys are too much
Beautiful! I'm so glad that there are still so many people that respect Tolkien like this!
"Out of the Great Sea to Middle-earth I am come. In this place will I abide, and my heirs, unto the ending of the world"
-Elendil the Tall
I can't help but be in awe of this universe, wish this was real
I knew Aragorn was a necromancer, he can not only summon the army of the dead to fight for him, but also his ancestors to sing along with him,
What a magical coincidence. I was listening to this just a week ago. Truly, the king has returned.
Great idea to include the other poem and translate it into Quenya, too. That's such a grand gesture for Aragorn's coronation!
"Out of the Great Sea I am Come, in this place I shall abide and my heirs unto the ending of the world."
I feel like I'm disrespecting by using this to fall asleep. It's just so serene, my mind gradually calms down when listening to this.
1:42 Really like this part
Does it have a name or its part of the oath?
@@nikolaleontijevic9536Its "Not everything is gold that does glitter"
Beautiful as always. Your music lights the world!
i’ve been waiting for this for forever 🙌🏼
I can't remember when was the last time I got this level shivers :D
Such a great song.
The more i hear elvish, the more i believe if angels existed, this would be their language.
I have cried every time I have listened to this, thank you for creating such a moving piece and weaving all these stories and memories together through the power of music. If ever I could imagine Ainulindalë ( the music of the Ainur), it would be like this
God the nostalgia. Thank you.
This is what every Tolkien and Peter Jackson fan expects from any Lord of the rings themed medium: Being true to Tolkien's work, referencing PJ's movies and still creating something new.
Good job!
I love how in the artwork of his ancestors two of them look like Christian Bale and Keanu Reeves lmao. Great composition and singing. Top-notch.
A perfect design for the song. I imagine this as a lost footage of the third film; Aragorn and Arwen's union and wedding in Minas Tirith.
Why are you guys not all over ABC Classic radio? The rest of the world is missing out on your fantastic music.
Recently the JWST rediscovered the farthest star ever, that's fittingly been named Eärendil from Tokien's work. I remembered this song when I heard about it, and found your guys' cover. Thank you.
Ofc Keanu Reeves is a part of the royal bloodline of Númenor
My favorite thing about the instrumental is the transition to the ending at 5:10; after Aragorn sang his oath, the scene directly after in the film, he tells the hobbits "My friends, you bow to no one," and that's when this part of the song plays.
Its always a treat to listen to these productions in languages created by Tolkien, they're extremely relaxing to listen to and make me feel an odd sense of nostalgia.
One of the all time greatest fictional monarchs, the benchmark against which others are to be judged. Thank you for this gift.
I listen to this song and I think " there is still hope for men".
I’ve fallen in love with Tolkien’s works in recent years. Every time I hear this song I can’t hold in my emotions. Especially with my religious background, that first part of the song reminds me of Christ coming from the sea asking Peter to have faith and to come to him in the storm.
I love how Howard Shore's timeless themes are woven into this composition!
Keanu Reeeves being an ancestor to Aragorn explains some things.
Such a gorgeous arrangement and performance! And oh the goosebumps at the harmony at 2:45--and then the bass hits at 2:52--exquisite!
This song gives me gosebumps with how solemn and beautiful it is. This is a wonderful adaptation of the Professor's songs, as always with your works!
Absolutely amazing as always! "Now come the days of the king!" (Quite literally for those of us in the UK.)
Shame King Charles III didn't have to fight Sauron to ascend to the throne
What a beautiful wotld tolkien created , he took inspiration from the great war to end all wars. I have now got to watch this world all over again. Whats better is , i get to introduce my daughter to this world.
Gorgeous vocals, this is why I've been subbed to you guys for so long, your songs have rarely disappointed and this is another in my long list of songs to play throughout the days!
Tall ships and tall kings
Three times three,
What brought they from the foundered land
Over the flowing sea?
Seven stars and seven stones
And one white tree.
It was not only a film. It was a miracle.
That was beautiful. Including the Riddle of Strider was a nice touch and having it sung by Arwen really elevated the song to make it about more than just Aragorn (which is kinda the point of his coronation).
My beloved one passed away. I'll sing this song for her... until we meet again in the Halls of Mandos.
Praised be Eru-Ilúvatar for our doom is known to him only.
Who are you guys????? this is so beautiful!!! not only the whole composition seems to come straight from the heart of Middle Earth, but the way you have interwoven Howard Shore's themes into it is amazing!!!! Made me cry.
