Man, aerial cleave is such a cool move that I didn't know I needed in Yamato's movelist.
At first I discarded it as just another helm breaker, but the sound design and the feeling of impact it has is just cathartic.

That's a parry. You know that thing where you shoot him as Dante and he just knocks the bullets away with the scabbard? You can do that Royal Guard style
@@Goldendriger For Vergil to Block, he'd have to be holding down R1 and not doing anything. Here, he was in the middle of an attack, so no blocking.
It also wasn't a parry, because Cavaliere Angelo would've been interrupted from the clash (like it does in 2:53)
And finally, blood came outta Vergil and he screamed, but there was no damage.
2 months late but it looks like he dodged the hit with Yamato Combo C where his finishing slash half kneels him, making his hit box smaller?

i guess this video exists just because beowulf is a go to for boss killing with its stuipid boss locking combo. yt is full of vids featuring freeze boss -> charge upswing -> get dt back and deal damage -> repeat
if anything mirage blade, beowulf nah
