      @Dexirt ..no they didn't have a warrant or a court order for the "safe"..only for the home at the time when they contacted Liberty asking for the code. According to a report last week from the New York Times, Liberty Safe acknowledged that it voluntarily gave the FBI an access code to a safe “in response to a search warrant for a property.”Sep 12, 2023 the FBI "did not have a court order ordering Liberty Safe to provide the safe's combination."

    I started with a decent small safe in 2004 but after my collection grew, I did a lot of research on multiple brands of gun safes and finally settled on an American Security BF 6636 due in fact to the thick half inch plate steel door and dual steel walls on the body and lastly the superior poured fire cladding instead of sheetrock.
    My criteria were for burglary protection first and foremost.
    One thing that I caught on to early in the search was the fact that most gun safes that used composite doors would never really let you know just how much steel was in the door.
    That's a nonstarter Browning and Liberty.

    Now if I’m raided by the Feds for having the wrong political beliefs, will you be giving them a back door combination to access my safe?

    • @parkerssafes
      @parkerssafes  ปีที่แล้ว +113

      No sir. Not me. What Liberty did with the FBI was WRONG. Other companies would most probably deny and sue as it violates 4th amendment rights. We, Parker's Safes and Vaults, don't keep a database of combos and codes and even if we did, "they" wouldn't get them without a bitter fight.
      In my opinion, this will all work out in our favor and these other safe companies will learn a valuable lesson about how to handle a request to violate a customers' right to be secure in their persons, papers, houses and effects as outlined in the 4th Amendment.
      I'll be posting a video soon to show some ways to counter this type of assault on our 4th Amendment Rights.

      Look they would have opened it one way or another..any decent Locksmith can open these types of safe's quite easily with time. And even an idiot Government agent with a cutting wheel can through these thin gauge bodies nowadays. But what Liberty did without even asking for a warrant first before giving up the master code was absolutely ridiculous and shameful on them.

    • @parkerssafes
      @parkerssafes  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +9

      That' may be true but it's not the point. The point is that Liberty voluntarily gave out the customer's combo. One could easily argue that the customer had a reasonable expectation of privacy and security when purchasing something like a safe. The fact that they'd gain access one way or another is irrelevant. I get the idea behind your comment, and I appreciate it, but behavior like this is exactly why we have the 4th amendment. If there was no warrant, there was no reason to submit to their request.@@aldo-228

    Thank you for the awesome video... I hear alot about the safe door, but alot of safes are attacked from the side with a circle grinder. Is there any home gun safe that is relatively impervious to a circle grinder attack? I'm seeing these things cutting through .25" steel with relative ease.

    • @parkerssafes
      @parkerssafes  25 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @@ValkerieSilk thank you. It’s pretty hard to stop a right angle grinder with a cut off wheel. Cutting through steel are
      what those things are made for.
      I think American Security does a better job than most companies given that they have two layers of steel with their concrete/plaster type material in between. It would certainly be harder to grind through those than it is to grind through the standard sidewall of our more common brands. The Amsec BFII has an even thicker inner plate so once you’re through all the fire cladding and the first layer of steel, you still have 5/16” to deal with. All we can really do is slow the bad guys down. Now, if your budget is not a concern, then we can look at other safe brands like ISM.

      Graffunder and all of the U.S. built American Security gun safes do. There are other manufacturers that have models with plate steel doors, but you have to do your homework to make sure you’re getting one. Most safes nowadays have what we call a composite door which is made to look thick, but there’s really not much steel in it at all. • @parkerssafes
      @parkerssafes  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You can get rid of the factory user code, which is generally 123456 and put in your own but most locks feature a code that’s called a manager reset code and is extremely helpful when there’s a death in the family or something like that. Generally, there’s a serial number on the lock itself and with the proper paperwork and proof of ownership, the company will release that manager reset code. There’s a lot of controversy out there right now around that because Liberty safe voluntarily gave that manager reset code to the FBI during a raid. That was a huge mistake for them which most manufactures would not have made and certainly wouldn’t now!
