Get a new HPFP if you rebuild the head. That probably contributing to your fuel rail code. These cars are also prone to having leaking injectors as well. I also recommend replacing the VVT valve in the front of the intake cam as well. not an expensive part.
I would consider doing a Berryman's B12 piston soak first. There are several youtube videos about it (Eurotrash Motorsports is the one most people watched). If the car didn't get regular oil changes with good oil, there's a possibility that the rings and drain holes in the piston is coked up. These later B8.5 EA888's are pretty solid motors.
Lol, typical "parroted" comment. Repairing any crash damaged/poorly maintained/etc. car is expensive. Bodywork on a sh*tbox Honda costs the same as a German car. The timing kit he got is a $77 timing kit., etc., etc. Only people who don't do research end up paying a lot.
Check exhaust valves as well

Check for carbon build up on the intake valves. That can cause low compression also.
bore scope cam in sparkplug holes. if walls scratched.. find engine vs rebuild ?
Should’ve done a compression test to start off with…
do piston soak.

I’ll give that a shot. Thanks!
scope the cylinders
Burnt valves or piston rings
Good video 👍
There's nothing more expensive than a cheap German car.
