HEY GUYS! if pete's one is from the first batch [ which i think it is ] it is a GERMANIUM one lee's one being a new one is a SILICON [ all the new ones are silicon if you want a germanium one you will have to buy one from the first batch second hand ].
Pete's one is one of the very first Silicon Veterans, Its the same spec as the Captains Veteran, Just has different knobs.

Hard as Nails pedals...I'm pretty sure I read about this pedal guy in Guitarist magazine. ...he had something to do with the armed forces....I might be wrong but pretty sure the pedals are made using using material that the forces use in there equipment. ..so yeah as hard as nails pedals

Silicone just doesnt heat up as badly as geranium...an easily attainable an is comparable if they are analog pedals an not digital...an those shoes pete awesome for dark lit gigs you can see your pedal board ,... Flashlight soles....lol...you still rock pete good guitar player an entertaining personality...an a few laughs too....captain your playing is swaying here an there The Chappers shredd sounds are rubbing off ...the nuances that are yours with a pinch of chapper...helps you shine nice chop session guys ..the pedals well they do what there supposed to do i guess...the fuzz is to garbled at points..even smoothed out the boost is nice though.....keepem coming. 👍

They sound great but nearly $400 for PCB based dirt pedals? I dunno...kinda losing me on this one.
Where did you get $400 from?? I get more like $250 US... (don't forget to take the UK sales tax off before you do the conversion)

I agree the cheapest one from Andertons is closer to $250 US. I should clarify that my original comment pertained to the Veteran. From Andertons to my door is a over $350.
What's wrong with PCB based pedals? There's no benefit from point to point wiring (something you do not get usually) or the more common turret style wiring (that is being sold as point to point). It's actually even worse: it's a lot harder to design a proper ptp layout avoiding all the pitfalls without giving you anything. It's a bloody myth that pcb sounds bad. If it does sound bad it was poorly designed or assembled - or they just went for subpar components.
That's all it is … a myth.
Just like the stupid myth with the sound of exotic capacitors. In 9 out of 10 cases it's absolutely irrelevant. Those myths are just being spread by people without any knowledge of electronics.
Ad $250-300 for small batch hand assembled pedals is actually reasonable. Seriously. Properly selected components for a Ge or Si Big Muff will set you back about $60 - without PCB or any labour let alone profit.
Never said anything was wrong with them or that they sounded bad. I actually said the pedals sounded great. I've always viewed PCB being used to reduce cost and to easily mass produce. So for myself paying over $300 for a fuzz/od/dist pedal, I expect a little more even if it considered BS by some. As a person who dabbles in repairs, saying there is NO benefit to PTP/turret board wiring is a bit ludicrous. Didn't know they where handmade/assembled in the UK, for me that will definitely add value.

I'm a cheap MFer and usually never buy any of my gear new. So everything generally seems overpriced to me. I will probably own a Thorpy of some sort one day I just don't have the need right now especially at that price.

I know that Lee's not competent with this stuff, but Pete, ffs, why won't you play IN TUNE with chords? Your "outside" playing is killing me!!
Don't watch if it is killing you, we can't have that..:-) But we think you should film a video where you do the loop and play over it and explains what you are doing. Please post the link her and on out Facebook page and we will pass it on. We are sure Lee and Pete would appreciate that as they haven't got time to read all the comments. Thank you.

Because playing the exact scale to the exact mode is boring? Modes and scales aren't exact rules, people mix them all the time. That's what music is about
