Regarding dining out: I’m not sure if there are any mods to fix this, but when ordering from the dining out menu, if you choose a drink first, then the main course, and finally dessert for a sim, it only serves the drink and dessert. This happens because the system only registers one drink and one food item per request, per sim, so dessert replaces the main course in the order. If you want both a main course and dessert, you’ll need to order a second time after finishing the first servings. Realistic, perhaps, but it doesn’t help with the unplayable situation. xD Also, don’t quote me on this, but I think that if you manage the restaurant first and assign enough employees with adequate skills, they actually perform better when you visit the restaurant later with other sims. It’s a bit tedious to manage the place, enter as another sim to purchase and train the staff, but if it makes things more playable, it might be worth it. Have you tried resetting other sims to ensure you get your table first? I’ve found that helpful before. Oh, and another tip I’ve come across, though I’m not 100% sure because I don’t play with occults enough: vampire waiters! They move really fast and tend to tables quickly. It might be a coincidence, but in every situation where a vampire was the waiter, food arrived on time! Regarding the Grim Reaper: yeah, non-sacrificial ways to talk to Grim are kinda tricky. xD Malcolm had it coming, I suppose, 😅 Great chapter!! 😊
There is actually a mod!! It’s from CarlSims and has been around for quite some time. I don’t know why I never downloaded it to be honest 😅 I definitely need to look into it soon because all the other fixes sound nice but not like something I have time for for the few times I go to restaurants haha. Thank you for sharing the tips though!!
I also had this problem with the grilled cheese aspiration. I used MCCC to keep an eye on how many days left my sims dad had left to live then when just a day left I planned a stay over, so he was actually staying with me when he died!
Omgg Yesss a worthy sacrifice, also yaaay another videooo🎉🎉🎉🎉 ps. for the crystals you could do jewelry or just cut some gems, but yes jet is rare and for the easiest way to get it is through the magnificent crystal tree but that does take a whileee
I think you didn't get food because there was no room for plates at the table. A lot of restaurants on the gallery are not functional. Honestly the original Maxis ones work best or very simple ones. Dine Out works great for me if I'm careful about the build I use.
probably in the minority but i think it might be nice for yule to have a shaky resolution with malcolm when he reaches the adulthood stage (if malcolm makes it that long, lol) and quits to pursue his dreams. it might be kind of nice to see a story of two people who are irreparably opposed but still have a sort of affection for each other. dawn has gotten a bit of post-drama redemption purely by virtue of malcolm being worse and him taking the blame for her behavior, but dawn was a cheater and a homewrecker before things were ever even serious with malcolm. it's just who she is, and it would be interesting for yule to accept that his parents are deeply flawed people with poor morals but also still his parents. she was also with malcolm for a very long time and i feel like i remember mentions of her being aware he wasn't exactly on the straight and narrow (and allusions that neither is she in her career) so her being retroactively so disapproving of him being a hacker as if she had no remote idea feels like something she would tell her son to make him less angry at her by association. i feel like i remember malcolm being the one who did the majority of the actual child care and bonding with yule growing up, not dawn, so her being given a lot of leeway because malcolm "drove" her to do things she's been doing her entire dating-aged life anyway and because she's such a good mother (not that she's a poor one either!) while malcolm is cut off forever for... hacking from large corporations and being neglectful to a marriage his wife didn't put much effort into maintaining either feels a bit unearned? which could be an interesting story telling angle too, but i was just thinking that maybe as yule matures and grows into himself his views of things might become more well rounded (stealing so much money from your family is a crime too, yule, haha, and maybe he could understand the more banal evils in life like corporate greed so it's a bad guy vs bad guy scenario) and he could be caught in the middle of his parents maintaining strenuous relationships with both of them. it's pretty common to have to accept that your parents are humans who might tremendously disappoint you and let you down, and yet still struggle to let go of all of the happy times and love you have for them, coming to terms with both the good memories and bad ones all being the same person who is an individual with their own choices and mistakes instead of the parent-pedestal kids naturally put parents on. it might be nice for him to just have to accept that the both of them are not really the greatest people and he wants to be better and happier than both of them, but that they're his parents and he loves them despite their mistakes and many flaws, and make peace with that. i love the series so far though! the story telling is so fun and inspired me to actually try playing through a legacy challenge myself. i just got to the third generation myself, trying to get through the teen years so we can start up the career. balancing school plus an extra curricular plus a job is really tough! 😂 regardless of where the story goes i'm excited to see this series continue and what happens next!
grilled cheese > father
Grilled cheese is definitely worth sacrificing our father! 😈
