It honestly doesn’t even make sense mathematically to me at times. The subdivisions and the broader flow seem totally separate, but the sound grooves like butter. Insane.
Jon has this slight delay on the cymbal that just grabs my attention and pulls me into the next beat. So much detail being revealed in each repeated listening.
first came the light, then came the sound, then came the worlds that can never slow down then came the people with problems and hope, that don’t mean a thing if they just knew the scope ✨
You guys gave me a reason to keep going on several times in my life when I was at my lowest. I'm so grateful new music is still being made! I'm sure what Phish has done for me has been done for others in the past, and future!
I paused a moment once in time Before the sun began to shine To weigh the choice I had to make And therein lies my first mistake My second came just after that To keep the solar discus flat And make the planets scurry round The math required was quite profound And now it's mountains, streams, and plains Ten thousand creatures, none the same A million little things to solve Or not I'll let them all evolve First came the light, then came the sound Then came the worlds that can never slow down Then came the people with problems and hope That don't mean a thing, if they just knew the scope
I have been in love with this song since Trey released that cute little video during lockdown. My family knows the words because I sing it so much. I apologize to my neighbors in advance when I finally get my debut. Don Hart’s string arrangement elevates this song to another level. And can we please give it up for Scott Herman, the unsung hero of the songwriting trio.
One of my favorites from Lonely Trip, I always enjoy hearing solo project material get the full band treatment. Can’t wait to hear the rest of the album.
Been a fan since 92' whenever I get down and depressed and my world looks dark I put on some phish and all my worry seems to drift away thank you God for phish
Ya know; once and awhile I throw out the old records, tapes, cds and, playlists because I need to recharge, renew and, live again. I am glad phish has made music throughout this process of tearing down these metaphorical walls. I renew with them as a listener and I pass the time with new sets of golden chestnuts.
This song blew my mind when I heard it for the first time live at Dick’s last summer. The partly cloudy, moonlit sky, the fans, the extended encore….it was just perfect.
They have already played Evolve live, and many new songs like Pillow Jets, Monsters, Oblivion, etc. I’m pretty sure these are the songs for the new album.
Hell YES! 🎉❤🫡 Thank you!! Trey's voice really shines in this song. I've listened to it about 178X on Amazon Music. Thought I'd drop over here to say hi. 👋 See you all this summer. ✌️ Play this at every dam show this summer who cares about repeats!!
Literally in the first second we get that deep resonant tom drum, which doesn't show up again until 3:07, then again in glorious fills with its fellow toms at 3:36 and 3:50. I think that's what sparks my earworm at the start of this song - a hint of those moments you know are just a few minutes away, uncontrollably drawn towards them by the cymbals. Such a good earworm.
Most listened to off lonely trip and the six song encore at dicks this song just reminded us freaks howling under the moon that we all were kids who once loved dinosaurs. Really needed that in that moment so thanks Phish, and I’m way too excited for any announcement so.. here’s to Sphere and this album. Cheers all
Yes. Preach on my brothas. So much love for you and your evolution from nonsense lyrics to super meaningful spiritual messages. 🤟🏼I am with you through it all. To evolve. Glad for this Pham. 💛
This is a great song. I love it. It's basically Water In The Sky though, especially live. I also love Water In The Sky. Like a lot. Loved it circa 97, and especially loved it since that Europe 98 reworking.
Interesting. I've been fascinated with importance of scope to our understanding of the universe for years. What a great perspective Phish put on it. Thanks!
Classic phish but different in a way. Singing voices are appealing, soft and smooth. Bass, piano, drums, violin (I think), perfectly orchestrated for an uplifting feel good vibe. Meaningful lyrics. Well done boys.
This song was first cut on Trey’s solo album Lonely Trip. I prefer that version to this, but love how Phish plays this live. TAB also crushes it. Great song!
God I absolutely love these 4 musicians. Hands down my favorite band in life, hands down. No other bands really come close to how much I've listened to them. Love Pillow Jets and had a mini meltdown when they played it in Dayton last October. That said this ain't it. Kinda derivative, sounds like several other Phish tunes in ways. However beyond excited for the new record and will always be forever grateful for their efforts. I mentioned PJ to show I don't hate all the new music lol. Definitely prefer 1.0 but would never disregard the rest of their careers. Sorry to ramble y'all.😂✌️
I was at the listening booth at the local mall...they were playing a picture of nectar...I said who is this ...they said Phish ...been a fan for over 20 years..
If this was the only Phish song you had ever heard you might not realize how weird their music can be. You also might not realize that this virtuosic jam band is an historically electrifying live act. This song is radio-friendly by Phish standards.
I came here looking for this. I was like, wait that box is moving. No it’s not. The shadow looks longer. Does it?? No. Yes!! Classic phish. Perfectly and subtle trippiness
Definitely possible it could have been done by the same team, hypnosis I believe, but spelled differently. Responsible for countless classic album covers.🤘
Imagine living on earth at the same time as Phish 💚
The beautiful thing is, we don’t have to imagine. We get to live it.
And having tickets to see them!
Imagine living here at their time and not ever knowing of them or seeing them play live... What an awful image!
Lucky we are. I grew up with Phish.
My first show was 12/31/91.
I was 17. It changed me
Yeah the 90's were pretty great
I'm battling cancer, children problems, bills, police and general life. BUT ALL I WANT TO DO IS DANCE! Thank you PHISH.
Hang in there, Tim!
Thank you. I hope I didn't sound like I was complaining. I'm just excited about new the grooves LOL. Thanks again.
F Cancer, you got this Tim! Wishing you positivity and light!
Sending you and your family good vibes❤ Fuck cancer. You got this👊🏼
Praying for you and your family, Tim! Keep Dancing!
Being a drummer, it astounds me how tight his pocket is; and how he always serves the music.
This comment is right inside the pocket.
It honestly doesn’t even make sense mathematically to me at times. The subdivisions and the broader flow seem totally separate, but the sound grooves like butter. Insane.
I’m not a drummer but that snare work is awesome.
He is the best ... all the times I've seen them. I've heard trey mike and page flubb. But never John
@@averyprice9422no such thing as a flubb with Phish, more of a happy little accident 😊
I love how happy Trey’s voice sounds.
Agreed. Happy and smooth
Ditto!
First came the light, then came the sound, then came the Phish that will never slow down❤
Jon has this slight delay on the cymbal that just grabs my attention and pulls me into the next beat. So much detail being revealed in each repeated listening.
There has not been a day without Phish music in my life... For 20 something years going on 30
first came the light, then came the sound,
then came the worlds that can never slow down
then came the people with problems and hope,
that don’t mean a thing if they just knew the scope ✨
I love it too💥💫
Scope. I like Listerine or act
Sigh. Yes. But first came the light!
❤🎶💯
Nothing is as it appears. peace
Broadway Trey sounds great in this! Love the high harmonies
I will always love this song because I will forever associate it with James Casey. 💖
Me too, saw him come out and do this at Radio City…❤
@@johnpenney6682 yup, I was there too; that’s exactly why I wrote this. 😊🙌
I figured that was the case. It was a beautiful moment. ❤
Also was there 10/3/21 in NYC, so great!
You guys gave me a reason to keep going on several times in my life when I was at my lowest. I'm so grateful new music is still being made! I'm sure what Phish has done for me has been done for others in the past, and future!
Your shadow will never catch up with you.
😉
When I was a teenager, I didn't have any friends and had a rough home life, but I had Phish and they helped me to push on through
Same!! ❤
The last few albums have given me a reason to off myself
Powerful!
I paused a moment once in time
Before the sun began to shine
To weigh the choice I had to make
And therein lies my first mistake
My second came just after that
To keep the solar discus flat
And make the planets scurry round
The math required was quite profound
And now it's mountains, streams, and plains
Ten thousand creatures, none the same
A million little things to solve
Or not
I'll let them all evolve
First came the light, then came the sound
Then came the worlds that can never slow down
Then came the people with problems and hope
That don't mean a thing, if they just knew the scope

Love for life is such a precious realization, very healing when one becomes super conscious ❤ one earth 🌎 one love😊
No joke: I was on my Spotify, preparing to pick a song when I song that Phish dropped this banger. I love it.
Sadly, I haven’t heard much by this band over the years (even though I’ve been aware of them) until recently, but man what a treasure this track is!!
The string arrangement is a wonderful addition to this already wonderful song ☺️
One of my favorites from Lonely Trip, I always enjoy hearing solo project material get the full band treatment. Can’t wait to hear the rest of the album.
It’s so great to see them coming out with great music till this day it keeps them going, which keeps us going.
octavio anastasio in full flight! love you phish forever and ever. thank you! the band of my life
I ❤ Phish so much. They are very important to me. Boglin Here
Been a fan since 92' whenever I get down and depressed and my world looks dark I put on some phish and all my worry seems to drift away thank you God for phish
Anyone else think this one has some "Heavy Things" vibes to it? Certainly the tempo is similar. Love it, love the strings in there.
Yup. Just as annoying
Reminds me of the song nothing
Kinda heavy things meets nothing
Square Room would have been a funnier title.
The math required was quite profound.
The line is the one dimensional view of the round room
😂
I love me a good line😊
Profound room
LOVE EVOLVE one of my favorite songs!!!
I'm sure there will be some great jams to this tune in the future but The Radio City version with James Casey will forever be my all time favorite!
I'm always ready for a new Phish album.
!!Bless you guys!! I can’t imagine my world (or A world) without Phish! You keep pulling me through✌🏼
Still pure music. Love you
Thank you all, I needed this today!
This song blew my mind when I heard it for the first time live at Dick’s last summer. The partly cloudy, moonlit sky, the fans, the extended encore….it was just perfect.
Same
Heavy things vibes………Sphere shows next week getting new debuts for sure now.
I’m pretty sure most of the songs on the new album, like this one, have already been played live.
Why would you assume that? @@Munchylego
Yup, very Farmhouse album warmth.
They have already played Evolve live, and many new songs like Pillow Jets, Monsters, Oblivion, etc. I’m pretty sure these are the songs for the new album.
concur...

This makes me so happy. ❤
Can’t wait to see you guys in August!
Monster mile- Martian monster
I was just introduced to Phish by a friend. I have seriously been missing out.
Welcome to the party! Now get out there and see some shows! I would recommend the festival this summer
Good friend!
that is a shame, Phish in the 90s was a magical time.
@@goatweedwillie5349 never been a better time than right now!
Welcome home
Loved this song ever since the first time I heard it live at deer creek in 22. ❤❤ hope it gets played again in 24.

Yeah, I became totally sold on this song during that encore great chill song to vibe to
Beyond love this song, can't wait for a sick jammed out version ❤️🙏💙
They played it a bunch last year
Love it and can't wait to see you all agan!❤

What a nice thing to wake up to! Thanks guys!
creative juggernauts!!!! I love this band
That bassline is something else. Mike getchya shine on!
Indeed. Same boat. Love and light my friend.
Summer is gonna be epic❤❤❤
Always encourgaing when Phish puts out new music.

I like country water in the sky myself

Woot woot! Can't wait to check it out.
If I’m feeling down or if the news is even worse than usual: my Phish playlist goes on!
Love it! Over and over!
Thank you all!!!
Interesting. I've been fascinated with importance of scope to our understanding of the universe for years. What a great perspective Phish put on it. Thanks!
pretty cool visually how the box/square above the people is moving up and down
Beautiful, thank you Phish🐟
I remember this jam opening set 2 night 2 Chase Center.
love this damn song
I cried so much when I first heard this. This is one of those moments in time
Total eclipse of the rhombus
The Path Of Tonality

Thanks for the info, I was wondering about the birth of this song. I’ve been a fan for 24 years but don’t follow them as close as I’d like anymore.
picturing in my head the jams that will swirl throughout this...prepare
Love the visualizer.

I hope there's going to be some weird shit on the album. But I agree radio friendly. Not my first phish song lol
I expect these songs will feature in the Sphere shows.
