The CFPB is following the letter of the law. The agency was created by Congress 10 years ago, and the radical right wing Supreme Court even affirmed this. Perhaps the Senate should read the Supreme Court ruling. Kennedy is trying to fool his constituency with picking and choosing individual words from a much larger piece of Congressional legislation. Kennedy neglected to admit there are spending limits as set by the law for the CFPB. It's not the blank check as he is portraying here.

When the guest talks, why am I reminded of the old adage that "figures can't lie, but liars can figure.' The Senator's point is fairly simple. Some knowledge of the law may be required to understand the dispute, but the point was that CFPB receives its money from Fed Reserve "earnings," but it has none. Obviously, the Feds have money and the question must really be, "Who is funding you, and from what pot?"
CFPB funding mechanism was engineered to prevent political meddling. That is what conservatives hate about it.
But at the end of the day CFPB is a sham! Set up to stop the steal but that is not what they do! 😢
