    Love your content Kev - is this catchcan/aos needed for even the most 'gentle' of WRX drivers? I don't race, don't track, just a daily driver grabbing groceries etc. 😅

      Yes, I would recommend it for a stock car that's not driven hard. To be honest, I have not even driven my car hard and it only has less than 3000 miles on it and it still had oil residue in there.

    Great info thanks so much with this info on a great catch can kit. Now I can get the right one installed before I even hit 100 miles even on the clock, just like I always did with my Honda's. I just bought my first WRX a 2023 limited with many xtras for 4k under MSRP after 20+ years as Honda fan boy. After buying the 2023 Integra 6 speed last year I found the quality absolutely terrible so I decided to move to a true made in Japan car since Type R is so overpriced and sold my Integra. The new WRX is amazing only thing I wish my manual WRX had was Eye Sight Driver assist. I loved my adaptive cruise...😂

    Hey Kevin - wondering if you could update with your experience on emptying these? I went to empty mine after 3000 miles and later after 5000 miles and absolutely nothing came out... wondering if your experience was similar. I ended up just getting a small Dixie cup to put underneath the valve then unscrewing.

    • @RobHTech
      @RobHTech 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@waybach I mean that the engine is not burning oil or otherwise burning it off anywhere because I've done monitoring of the oil level for months on-end and the oil level never changes, even at 5,000 mile interval. Now, I do change my oil every 3k. The 5k was only for testing. Therefore, since the oil level doesn't change, then the PCV system, etc. isn't sending oil into combustion. The old engines def. had oil burning problems.

    How does these impact your warranty?

    • @KevinVo
      @KevinVo  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Dealers could give you a hard time about it, but at the end of the day a properly installed catch can system should have no ill effect on the performance of your car.

    • @waybach
      @waybach 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Essentially he’s stating yes it’ll void your warranty however the product is very reliable so the product won’t damage your car. Ultimately, Yes & no. Perfect example, by virtue of federal law (Magnuson Moss Act) "an automobile manufacturer cannot void your vehicle warranty due to the installation of aftermarket parts. Unless the aftermarket part that caused the vehicle failure or contributed to it (15 U.S.C. 2302 (C))." This is how/why things like aftermarket exhaust wont "void your warranty."
      The problem is the barrier for the warranter isn't that hard to climb, it's not hard to point the finger at something as intrusive as a AOS. Key words in the law above being "contributed to". far from automatic void, but tread carefully.
      Very similar to let’s say installing a CAI.

  • @stevekish4622
    @stevekish4622 ปีที่แล้ว

    It looks like this wouldn't be compatible with thicker TMICs? That PCV valve is just barely underneath the stock TMIC making me think this wouldn't fit with my ETS TMIC.

    • @KevinVo

      does anyone know why they move the pcv im still trying to wrap my head around it.. in theory the pcv could be inline anywhere in the system..only thing i can think of is there trying to put the pcv as far back in the process has possible to catch as much oil vapor has possible before the pcv...but in reality its going to be the same if they leave it on the block...

    How the hell are you supposed to easily empty the CCV can?! By removing the entire assembly each time?
    Oh, lol, and the the PCV one. You have to remove the intercooler each time to empty that one?
    Excellent install video though dude. :)

    • @KevinVo
      @KevinVo  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There is room to empty both cans without the removal of anything. The PCV can sits very far from the intercooler. It was only removed for installation of the lines. The CCV can is in an open space in front of the intake manifold where there is an opening.

    • @KevinVo

      I bought the Radium kit last fall and I does not fit on the second gens. Subaru rerouted the AC lines from first to second gen, and now they interfere with the AOS. I informed radium of the issue and returned my kit but haven't heard anything since. Seems like it just needs a updated bracket.
