Loved ur video man. Awesome job. I've watched a million videos on van campers or bus conversions and u are the first one that mention storage for ur gun case. Awesome. I'd build a hidden compartment for a pistol or shotgun. Gotta have protection. Great vid
I have watched at least 30 camper conversion set ups in various vans with solar charging the batteries, and you are the only person I have seen who uses the alternator to charge batteries while night driving. Faith in DIY restored, well done, sir.
this is the best conversion ive seen. The dark wood is superb and I think its great your grandparents were down with what you have acheived.well done mate
Slowly doing my research on putting together a van myself and this was really helpful both in terms of layout, ideas and making it feel like it was something I actually can do. Hope you and your badass dog enjoy the road for a long time to come mate :) Thanks!
Awesome man, glad I could help. Shoot me an email at constructiononthemove@gmail.com if you have any questions during your build, I'd be more than happy to answer them.
appmonk here...Ive been living in my van for 6 months. I started watching you a few weeks ago. Thanks for the inspiration. I hope all is well in your travels.
L👀king good!! love the colors.. very earthy and natural..much like yourself. we all have our own style so I like that you told us all up front that you don't want to hear about what you done or didn't do.
great build, I watch a lot of these van builds I think everyone puts their own unique features that fit their needs. the woodwork is beautiful. this is the first video of yours I've seen hope I can see others of how you built it from scratch! #skills
Wow thanks for all the love lately, definitely didn't think this many people would watch my extremely long and boring video. I'm going to jump on the opportunity here and shamelessly plug my writing and travel medias. I have a travel blog that I write random things for at www.myeverymanstory.com and my Instagram account for travel is @reedrombo most importantly, after building out this van I realized that I wanted to help other travelers attain their more affordable goals at converting vans/buses/box trucks etc. I've since started a company called Nomad Construction LLC (also has an Instagram at @nomadconstruction) please show me some love there. I'm just a traveler trying to make it all work!
it's always nice hearing people making the switch to vanlife, Sad the government has all these laws. They should have a vanlife Town, that would be so cool
You did a great job both on the van and the video ( making videos isn't always easy we are our own worst critics!) I like the wood work and great job being self reliant!
Thanks yeah I felt super awkward doing it haha. And kind of new I was inviting the worst of the Internet to share their two cents. Thanks for watching :-) check out my Instagram @reedrombo or my construction page @nomadconstruction
I agree, the laundry hamper is a nice touch. I definitely have to reign in the clothes and shoes to make this work, can't let the laundry get out of control...
Really nice interior you've done there! I was considering a darker wood than you usually see for my own build, so it's nice to see that it isn't too dark.
I really like your set up, especially the door and closet. I would've loved to see how you put it together, especially the wiring so it could be emulated but dope set up!
great build man - I am currently looking for an affordable sprinter right now....I want the high top and a diesel motor....more expensive than i thought but they are the perfect vehicle to retrofit....love the dark stain..... gives it a warm vibe....cheers man!
Thanks! Everyone is being so nice to me on the internet so far haha, did not expect that. I'm pretty disconnected from this world. But I'm trying to get better, check out my Instagram accounts @reedrombo and @nomadconstruction if you wanna follow the van now!
removable jugs vs hose connections means less holes you have to cut in the wall of your van, too. Rethinking my build now. I like it. The dark color suits you.
Great name ...Reed .. where are you now ? Happy Thanksgiving . Nice build , wonderful story of your Grandparents .. that will be with you for life , I know they are very Proud of you .
about the only complaint i would have about your video or should i say you is ..... Stop worrying about what other people may think about your set up. Even telling people it is how you want it is still wasting your time. There is ugly people out there. What you have done to your van is amazing, you are living your dream. and even the richest billionaire has nowhere near the wealth you have. You have what most people dream of "Freedom" you are not tethered to anything except a cell phone. I don't know you from Adam but what I do know is you seem to be a pretty awesome dude. Please keep up your videos and to hell with what others say..... Read the good, Delete the bad ....... Thanks for the video........... now if i could just get my wife to try this lifestyle #marriagegoals
Beautiful and cozy. Thank you for including the section on actually living in your van. One question, since you are using propane for heat and cooking, do you have a problem with humidity? I'm planning a build and am trying to decide which way to go, more expensive electrical systems (solar & batteries) or easy propane.
Liked and Subscribed! Great job on your Sprinter Van build! : ) I been wanting to get a Sprinter for a few years now. I have 3 questions for you. 1) How long you had the Sprinter and have you had any mechanical issues with the engine or transmission cause I heard it's expensive to fix ? 2) How much did the Sprinter cost you when you first bought it ? 3) How much did it cost you for the build, material and equipment ? Just a rough idea will do. So I can save up for it and prepare. Thanks : )
Most important question is what kind of hat is that? If it holds its shape i need one in my life. My last one got rained on and basically melted. Great van, btw. I have a lil NV200 I converted but I want to go bigger!
Yes, you did think of everything, by including a loaded segment . Thank you. I wrote first comment when you got to the crash pad/ future skis compartment.
can you do a video of the sliding door that separate the front of the cab. my husband wanted to see what the latch looks like and what the railes looks like that the door rolls on. thank you.
wrong! you shoulda put "a bunch of shit" on the top instead of the bottom. just kidding. i liked the wood. very pretty. your handiness is admirable. thanks for sharing!
Thanks for getting back to me! I'm debating between the two. I would love the bigger one for the extra space but I'm a bit worried it's too big to navigate as a daily driver and find parking spaces. Have you found it difficult to find parking spots at times?
Haha, the diesel actually allows for me to get 24mpg and tow this much weight behind, so it's the opposite of expensive! And yeah there are no windows, never were, I'm just really good with my side mirrors haha.
Loved ur video man. Awesome job. I've watched a million videos on van campers or bus conversions and u are the first one that mention storage for ur gun case. Awesome. I'd build a hidden compartment for a pistol or shotgun. Gotta have protection. Great vid
Was out walking for pheasants this weekend! It's definitely a priority

Really good job on your van. Nice work!
Very cool you thanked the people that helped you along the way. Many people forget that. Very few of us are an "island". We all need one another.
Beautiful. You did a great job and I love the stain. My dream is to one day live like that. All the best.
Well thought out, and one of the nicest configurations I've seen. Thanks for making a great video.
Great ideas! Really enjoyed watching!
L👀king good!!

Beautiful...the van and the owner! ;-) Great setup in the van and I really like the espresso colored wood. Very cosy!
love your table and bookcase
yeah, the bookcase was choice! i've gone digital, but bookcases still make me happy.

Reed Rombough Nice build. I'm in the early planning stages of a van conversation...so thanks for the tips & ideas! Happy travels! 😀

the hamper was cool. i haven't really seen any in my research and it's something i'm totally planning to squeeze in if possible.
I agree, the laundry hamper is a nice touch. I definitely have to reign in the clothes and shoes to make this work, can't let the laundry get out of control...
Absolutely loved this dude. Thanks for sharing! Best of luck with all your travels and adventures. Keep living the way that's best for you!
Really nice interior you've done there! I was considering a darker wood than you usually see for my own build, so it's nice to see that it isn't too dark.
I really didn't think it was going to be as dark as it is, I think having some contrast would be nice but I'm not dissatisfied with it.
Good job man. From Enterprise as well. Enjoy the van
I really like your set up, especially the door and closet. I would've loved to see how you put it together, especially the wiring so it could be emulated but dope set up!
perfect set up love the wood finish. good traveling

Well thought out and aesthetically pleasing build. Would you consider doing another tour with it fully loaded? Tiki🚎💨💨💨
I'll get to work on it!
Nice Job!

Is there a back up camera on the van?. I am doing some shopping for vans..thanks for the in fo
Yes, you did think of everything, by including a loaded segment . Thank you. I wrote first comment when you got to the crash pad/ future skis compartment.
Haha, great! Yeah it's not home unless you load it down. You can follow along with the van now @reedrombo and @nomadconstruction
When will you update? ☺
Is that flexible light battery operated or plugged into 12v or something? Where did you get it? I love it!
sick build
This van got an appealing darkness👌 any update? Thanks
Top five things you need most?
can you do a video of the sliding door that separate the front of the cab. my husband wanted to see what the latch looks like and what the railes looks like that the door rolls on. thank you.
Hey! Thanks for watching. Yeah I will get one up here as soon as I can!
Great Van RV Save Travels
wrong! you shoulda put "a bunch of shit" on the top instead of the bottom.
just kidding. i liked the wood. very pretty. your handiness is admirable. thanks for sharing!
can we get an updated video?!
I'll get to work on it!
what is the inside height of a sprinter van?
at 13:14 when you're showing the table... what if you had a small seat pull out from under the bed opposite of you?
Thank you.
nice job
Great design, very well thought out! Is this a 144wb or 170wv Sprinter?
Hey Mark! Thanks for watching! This is the 170, the big boy!
Thanks for getting back to me! I'm debating between the two. I would love the bigger one for the extra space but I'm a bit worried it's too big to navigate as a daily driver and find parking spaces. Have you found it difficult to find parking spots at times?
+Mark Jensen It can be difficult sometimes yeah, but it's a pretty mild inconvenience really, if you need the extra space I'd say go for it.
How tall are you? curious of the comfort level in there.
Haha should of waited one more min. 6' gotchya. great build
i wasnt expecting jesus inside
Nice, I like
nice!
love it
manly
about toilet and shower?
Carlos Leon In the bush!
Alabama the best place on earth... go to Dothan Ala!! great living space...
the duuuuudeeee! hahahahaha!
looks nice but in my opinion inside is too dark :)
Nice but the intro is very concerning could really think you should cut that bit out.
and your dirty cloths hamper. grandparents are great.
You are soclever
Diesel? Oh my, I love diesel but that's expensive... Nice layout in van though..... But your rear windows are blocked out. How do you reverse?
Haha, the diesel actually allows for me to get 24mpg and tow this much weight behind, so it's the opposite of expensive! And yeah there are no windows, never were, I'm just really good with my side mirrors haha.
+Reed Rombough Aaah Lol 😊
Some Sprinters has the backup camera as an option and you can get a aftermarket backup camera for your Sprinter if you wanted one.
