Interested to see how the shower and compost toilet mod works out. I will say I had to deal with a composting toilet at my last job and I always thought them to be kind of gross, but that's all you can really put in the van.
Carbon monoxide settles bellow most other gas so you will want to move that sensor, at the moment its useless, otherwise looks like a pretty decent set up you have there.

When I lived in Breck I remember it getting super cold for extended periods of time (-85F with wind chill on peak 10) :) How is Michael dealing with heat and the need to dry his ski gear out every night? Looking forward to some Summit County turns this winter!
I have a heater setup and if its too bad I stay with my family or friends in town. As far as the gear is concerned I keep it at the store or in a locker on the mountain. Perks of knowing people haha.

I'd like to know how much a van with this set up would cost?
I also live in Colorado and winter is very cold here. I pay around $15K/year for rent and around $6k/year with living expenses. I'm seriously considering this idea of a stealth van living.
How much you spend each month to keep your van working (gas, repair,insurance...etc) ?
Awesome van man! Quick Q for ya: How much does it cost you to live in your van monthly/annually? Just kinda curious how much money your spending on gas, food, maintenance, etc.
Gas - 100
Food - about 200
Phone - 100 (This is unlimited data so i use it for wifi also)
Insurance - 70
so usually about 600 a month roughly
Carbon Monoxide is heavier than oxygen, it will settle low. I would advise putting the detector close to the floor, especially in your home. It's an odorless gas. Stay safe, later

I think the carbon monoxide alarm needs to be installed down low... I think the gas is heavier than air... Hope this helps...
+find us in the sun they are basically the same density. It's propane that is denser and needs to be mounted low :)
I know that in homes, they are supposed to be installed low to the ground... I installed mine down low... safe than sorry...
@@mikeandsheilabueche1433 propane leak detector is what needs to be low as propane is heavier than air, that's why you need a drop out vent. Carbon monoxide detector manufacturers and fire department both recommend to put a carbon monoxide detector at the same height as where you sleep. Carbon monoxide is not heavier than air, that's a common misconception, in fact air is actually slightly denser than carbon monoxide (but barely, it's basically almost neutral). You might want to reconsider where you've mounted yours but that's your choice. Feel free to contact your local fire department to ask about this if you don't want to take my word for it, I understand it's hard to believe a stranger on the internet. Don't worry about it though this is like the #1 most posted incorrect advice given to van lifers, it's a super common mistake. Cheers and be safe! :)

They're the same van, made by Daimler sold as Mercedes, Dodge, Freightliner maybe more.

If I may make a suggestion, you've been stripping too much out of your videos recently. Too little lull, no suspense, no pacing, no personal interaction, no human element. And those godawful spliced-together sentences. Just no flow.
The earlier, more natural videos were much better.

Hope that's not CTE maybe he's high, skiing and photography as a job? Skiing is expensive, he called it a Dodge Sprinter yet it has A Mercedes-Benz symbol in grill? Is it the Mercedes-Benz Deisel engine, would explain buying the older preemption dirty runners. Don't most commercial vehicles run high miles, it's all highway cargo, and little to break, built for weight. Some sprinters are quite costly to repair, can't just drive a commercial vehicle into auto repair, it's small but still a truck, perhaps the domestic motor powered can be serviced easily. Essentially a van, but truck ownership isn't the same. Camera looked taped on! 😆 Hope don't freeze in there, seriously it gets really cold in northern mountains. Folks fall asleep temp drops, and that's it. No more waking up! Be safe!
