I don't know why, I played this game at least 5 times and the shockwave chapter still gives me chills and amazing satisfaction. The soundtrack is just too good. Kudos to the Playdead team, looking forward for their next game.
Inside is one of those games that is just so good and especially for a game from 2016. Piecing together what's going on only through puzzles was smart and executed very well

Man, I remember waaaaay back with samurai and you and sutii and zet and etc. and everyone else back in 2016, record sitting around 1:12-1:13 and we were *joking* about sub hour. Heck, we were joking about the big door skip. Safe death warp was a meme strat. I literally can't believe the game has been pushed so far. It felt forever, at the time, that the game itself would never release. I gotta hand it to you, Par. Congrats not only on pulling off the sub hour, but for being here and pushing for every single step of the way. This game would be absolutely nowhere near the state it's in if it wasn't for you. Even those 6 records you waited through to post this run for, the resets in between, and every finished run in the past. Every minute spend theorycrafting new discoveries. You're incredible, dude. Well done.

This must be so funny in universe, imagine a random team of truckers hears a stick break in the woods and next thing you know the company's entire security team is searching for this small red shirted frolicking boy that is bypassing all of their security and speeding through the entire facility at top speed
It's wild that someone could find the type of anomaly seen at 13:00, which in some cases must have taken you hours to find the most optimal way possible. I don't know if the repeated jumping against the wall is a way of counting time or if that needs to be done just to get it to work, but the amount of effort and perseverance it must have taken you to achieve this record breaking goal is very impressive.
Wow what an incredible run... I was sure you'd make it one day :) I started speedrunning Inside two years ago but I am so far from you... I really want to thank you for all what you've learnt to me even though you're not conscious of it. Thanks and keep playing that wonderful game that is Inside!
My sister is playing this right now and seeing the time difference from the world record and a person that just started playing is so cool and exciting! You are amazing at this game and I love the walk through
you're in luck, because this is one of those games \o/ just in case you're unaware, the jumping pattern in this game is the opposite of "spamming" ... we actually have to time each individual jump, by pressing it a few frames after landing - so we need to wait for the character to get full speed, before we jump - this happens pretty quick after landing, but not instantly, so it's okay if you haven't noticed, but yeah - we don't spam also, I have to point out that there are a lot of sections were we let the boy run instead of jumping, because when there's a chase going on, the boy has increased speed, and jumping would be detrimental - so this is another reason we are in luck xD this is one of those game where running is faster than jumping \o/
@@parhelion3927 I understand now and will correct the attached message, though is interesting how common it is in game design to make horizontal jump speed greater than walk speed, through impulse or air strafe. It appears to originate from a trade between motion accuracy, code complexity, artstyle, and player convenience, where for a while I've been trying to find a solution that does not compromise one.

yes, but you're not able to survive that fall (through casual gameplay) ... it's only doable with specific tech + positioning + timing (aka: Scaffold skip)

this is "Mine Door Skip" ... it's an out-of-bounds skip and allows the possibility to pass by the big door much earlier than intended ... it saves several minutes compared to normal gameplay (solving the mine without skips)
this is "Lineup skip" ... it's an out-of-bounds skip and it allows the possibility to avoid the trigger on the top floor ... saves over 1 minute compared to normal gameplay (no skip)
Yo does anyone have any tips? I’m gonna try to run this game on my Xbox and I don’t have much experience with speedrunning. I’ve only done a couple hitman missions in like 3 minutes and this little game called Pikuniku in about an hour, please help? Also great run ❤

I'd say: go for more casual runs at first, try to beat the game without dying (too much) and get a feel of the movement ... on SpeedRun(dot)com we have a category called "No Major Skips" that's aimed for new/casual runners - I'd suggest going for that at first, if you decide to stick with INSIDE for longer
great speedrun!! i wanna start speedrunning this game too, although probably not competitively yet since i'm not great lol, and i was wondering if the glitch at 9:44 has been patched? i can still phase through but when i drop down i immediately die. is there a trick to it or is it not possible anymore?
by avoiding the trigger on the floor :) ... the developers did not account for the possibility that the player can move Out of Bounds (pushback exploit) - which is why the trigger for breaking the floor is kinda narrow, if you consider the 3rd dimension
When you're doing the pushback thing at 13:00, how long do you have to do it for cause I tried this on PS4 for about 30 seconds and the kid didn't move into the foreground.
Okay I must admit you got some crazy glitches but just out of curiosity in the place where you're supposed to drop the safe through the floor you just went up to scaffolding and moved kinda funny and climbed down it and fell without dying? I can't figure that one out for the life of me.

@@parhelion3927 Again sorry to bother you but I was wondering how many fps you get during the game? For some reason I only max out at 40 fps and the only time I get 60 is during the kinda cut scenes. Especially when I'm falling in the elevatorafter the sonic boom stage. Other than that 40 fps is the norm on my pc and what's really weird is I can play Escape from Tarkov with no V synch and average 90 fps and my game play is like butter on bread. I was just curious if it's because of my shitty frames that I can't get the glitch to work? I know to speedrun it's all about the frames and for some reason no matter many times I try to get your glitch to work my dude just stands there looking at the sky like I'm supposed to be pushing that beam over there by the safe. BTW I am playing on old school laptop with 1060 Nvidia and 16gbs of ram. I still don't get it
@@RhinoXeroz fps should have NO impact on this type of glitches (inputs related) so everything should work the same way .... try to follow the guide (video posted above) as literally as you can, also watch the inputs here in this run (bottom right of the screen) ... if you don't get what you see me do = you didn't do the inputs correctly (it's as simple as that, most of the time)

I'm trying to do it with a logitech controller and I just can't get it to work for some reason. I was even thinking about just recording the inputs onto my controller as a macro so I can bypass the scaffold thing and it still doesn't work. I guess you got a gift or something.
And the one cycle dog trick with the boards! there's no way your you're just mashing left and right with the cntrl button that fast. I can get like maybe 2 and a half boards off before I get mauled. That's gotta be a macro and if not yougot crazy skills my dude

at the end, after so many years of grinding and improving our understanding of how and what to do, when the huddle breaks the wooden wall, I stop the timer and ... it finally shows that the game can be beaten in under 1 hour \o/ ... so ... that's what the ending of this run means xDDD sorry, couldn't resist decontextualizing your question ...
Saw a comment once that said that Inside could be interpreted as a metaphor of breaking society out of the government's control, thus granting them free will. The same goes with the alternate ending; the game resets and it is the boy who is given free will and breaks out of *your* control.
The jump animation is one of my favorite parts, it’s very artistic and fluid and looks like a real person jumping. Inside wasn’t really intended to be a speed running game, it’s intended to be a cinematic experience. I think if they made the jump more boring it would’ve killed some of the drama of the big jumps you make in this game to escape certain death lol
And the detail is that you can get through this part even faster than that, removing the three boards before the dogs catch you, but it's very difficult.

yup , the pushback glitch at Mine Door Skip puts the kid very far into the foreground , that's why @32:35 I completely avoid the helmet-trigger ...
