    This is really helpful thanks. I've been using this primer for a couple of years now and I was aware of the problems, but that work around at the end with future is great, I had no idea about that 👍

    Very informative video, thanks. I ordered some of this primer yesterday and thought I'd check out any problems before I use it. I have some Vallejo Polyurethane Satin varnish that I thinned that with a bit of distilled water as I didn't have any thinners and it sprayed really nice. There is some kind of flow enhancer in their varnish that breaks down water tension so I'm assuming that will be the case with their primer, I guess I'll find out next week when I give it a shot at some old bit of plastic.

    so helpful. I just bought the vallejo primer to try it out and i tried to sand it too soon and got that peeling layer effect. I usually use citadel primer spray cans so i was used to how that dried.

    I have recently retired and returned to modelling. The ‘future’ multi purpose floor wax looks brilliant. BUT I cannot find it anywhere for less than £30 online. What is a suitable product I can use as an alternative that is available now. Fantastic channel. I thought I’d be happy hand painting but airbrush does seem to be the way to go.

      Any of the gloss varnish here in my store would be good but ak gauzy is a good one too www.genessis-models.co.uk/product-category/paints/?wpf_filter_product-type=varnish

    Argh, just tried to sand a model primed 10-11hrs ago and primer did peel away making “steps”! I wish I watched this video yesterday as I was going to!

    Hi Bobby. Just started modelling and wondered whether this primer thins ok with your recipe for home brew thinners?

      @genessismodels  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Home brew does work well with lots of paints out there but always best to test first

    What color primer do you recommend for a Gloss Black Main color for an A.C. ? Note I'm building a T-38C Talon. And I plan on painting it in the gloss black colors.

    Really cool video, thank you!
    I have a question: Is Pledge (Pronto in my country) Multi Surface Cleaner still working as a curing layer on Vallejo Primer? It's been 7 yrs since this video of yours, and because of lockdown in my country I cannot buy it during a weekend, so I wanted to ask before I actually test it myself on Monday. ;)

    • @genessismodels

      Yes it will mate

      @@genessismodels My man, it works perfectly, really thank you very much for this little trick. It's still not ideal but now I can finally stop using that smelly Mr Surfacer and my family is grateful - to you too of course. 😉

      Hey..
      Where I live neither the Pronto or Pledge is to find, so, is it any multi surface cleaner ?..
      Can guess i should keep my hands off glass cleaners. Some of then can be used to strip paints 😉

    • @Agent_Clark

      It doesn't but it delays the drying so you can spray a bit longer I found.

      Can I spray this with a .35 needle at 20 psi?

  • @kacpersobczynski7643
    @kacpersobczynski7643 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hi, great video but I'd like to ask what diameter needle do you use? I use 0.2 needle at 20-25 PSI and this primer clogs my nozzle completely after just a few seconds or doesn't flow at all. When I thin it with Vallejo airbrush thinner this primer behaves unpredictably but mostly flows and gathers in recesses or at the bottom of the primed part.
    Could you advise me if I'm doing something wrong or perhaps my needle is too thin? Thanks.

      Firstly, get a .3mm needle or higher. Secondly lower your pressure to about 15 psi. Finally, add some retarder, it stops the paint from drying before it leaves the brush

    the primer is not good at all, i had to remove it off of my fa 18 the stuff rubs off so easy and even if you wait for 48 hours later, it still comes off easy plus who wants to wait for 48 hours for a primer to dry

    I ordered this "grey" shit on amazon. Instantly clogged my brush. Its light af garbage. Had to order vallejo panzer grey. All white primer sucks.

      yes i agree have left my air brush in air brush cleaner for 48 hrs and it is still not clean, keep having a go at cleaning it but the airstream is slightly diverted so far i cleaned it about 4 times and is still clogged slightly.
      would appreciate any advice on how to clean.
