  • Have you seen all the hype, the social media posts and the videos, but struggled to catch fish on paddletail swimbaits yourself? That used to be me. But now, after years of using these baits for just about every species of freshwater fish you can imagine, I am confident there are a select few retrieves that actually catch fish of all species in almost any conditions. In this video, I'll show you the ones that work for me and exactly how to replicate them!

Spent grand total of 6-8 hrs on other videos of that topic and didn’t learn nearly as much as I did from your video in 6 minutes. Thanks!

Hammered walleyes last week on the Northlands Eye Candy paddle tail. Great tips and ideas for ways to retrieve. Keep up the good work.

Thanks for getting to the point, im 18 and fished a little when i was a child but just recently found my passion for it, sometimes i find myself wondering if im retrieving to slow too fast or incorrectly and im very thankful to have the recourses like this.

Great vid. I Iike the way you explain. Im hoping to target crappies for first time this summer/fall. Any tips? Depths, etc.

I should make a video on late summer/early fall crappies! Basically you are looking for any kind of cover in the deepest water available. Sometimes it’s a deep weed bed or weed line, sometimes it’s a man-made fish crib, sometimes a deep sunken tree. Sometimes all it takes is a little log sticking up from bottom. In most lakes I would target depths between 12 and 25 feet. Vertical jigging is my go-to for crappies this time of year and yes, a little swimbait works great for this.

I've had food luck using small ball head jig with tube baits for crappie. Cast and slow retrieve with small pulls while reeling.

neat vid, this retrieves also work on salt/brackish water for speckled trout and several kinds of snook, confirmed by me and my dad.

Yes they do! I can confirm also. Big redfish and baby tarpon love ‘em too.
