    I can't begin to thank you enough for your label making tutorial. I have been involved with this hobby for about 3 years now and I have been doing this the long and hard way. You have made my life just a little bit easier and for that sir I thank you. Keep doing what you do and I look forward to more of your videos.

      @DIYFermentation It was the best. If you haven't tried it, the RevolutionDCM mod is a game changer. Makes it by far the most entertaining civ game.

    Great info!
    Due to my job, I’ve been led to investigate all the weird and wonderful (and not-so-wonderful!) features of Microsoft Word, including the making of templates for various formats of paper with my employer’s business logo, printing labels with or without logo/illustrations/addresses, creating labels for envelopes using addresses from an Excel file etc etc etc.
    This has been useful for the creation of templates for wine bottles as well. If you buy sheets of blank adhesive labels in a size you like for your bottles, chances are the form at is known to Microsoft Word. You can use this to create your template and insert any border, text boxes, illustrations etc within the borders of your labels. The box/packet of labels usually includes a paper page with the label’s borders printed on it. Print. Full page of designed labels on regular paper. Place it over the blank with lines provided in the packet and hold both (superimposed) against the light. See of everything is to your liking. If so, print your labels.
    Given my preference for easy removal I don’t use sticky labels, but prefer to use regular paper and water-based glue. I keep re-using the template I made, saving it each time I make changes using the ‘save as’ feature with a new file name. Works for me…
    On the separation of labels from their backing paper: use a pin. It easily slides between the backing paper and the label itself, allowing you to separate a corner. From there you can easily peel off the entire thing.

      The first minute was only just to be a dry run. I just got lazy and did not record a cleaned up version.

    Older version of Microsoft Word "for the simple reason that (a) it's paid for ..."
    I think that is more than sufficient justification for using an older version. Especially if the older version does what you need the software to do, why waste time and money on an upgrade? After all, if you wasted money on an upgrade or a subscription, it would no longer be "on a shoestring budget".
    Thank you for another useful video.

      My main backup softwate just removed half of the features that used to be free and made them subsciption only. I had to download a previous version to re-enable. The previous version worked well enough, so no need to update to the lastest and greatest and less fulfilling.

      @@DIYFermentation I hate when they do that. Years ago, when I was more into managing the computers for the family, I would always re-install the operating system when I got a new computer. I wanted to make sure I had all of the software on a CD or DVD just in case the hard drive crashed. I didn't want to suddenly be faced with "well, for a mere $14.95 a month you can get ..."

    See, you are using the method to adjust your print settings that I am used to. Go in, adjust the details, etc. Or enter a code so your printer can identify the sheet layout. However, I do not have Word on this computer. So I can't figure out where to make the adjustments to the print settings that I need. Regardless, thank you for taking the time to make the video. I am going to go beat my head against the wall and try to solve this from another angle.

    Great info. This beats my "sharpie marker on masking tape" labels by a long shot. Maybe improving my label game will help convince my friends and family that my home brews are actually safe and delicious, haha.

    Just wanted to know how those labels hold up washing and sanitizing? Do you have to make new ones each time?

    • @DIYFermentation
      @DIYFermentation  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I use a laser printer, so the labels don't wash out. But, they are removed prior to washing and sanitizing. It's a bit of a pain, but the results are generally worth it. Removing Wine Labels: th-cam.com/video/CHHYUXdYCfA/w-d-xo.html
