A great history lesson Jon! I love hitting my classic Ping eye 2 black dot wedge.
Also, a front runner in custom fitting.
Yes! That has become the normal offering from all the pro line companies - good point!
In my opinion you are correct, but every company has been influential to the golf industry, Taylormade with the Pittsburgh persimmon and the first hollow body foam filled irons, Spaulding with the first hybrid irons, Wood Bros. with the first oversized persimmon drivers(The Texan), Wilson, and McGregor with blade irons and Ram with the Zebra putters, Yonex with the first carbon drivers. We will all very on opinion, but golf wouldn’t be what is today without the history of development from each company. Ping definitely gets a nod of some of the major styles and developments.
Gene Sarazen invented a sand wedge. Nuf said.
Agreed. Many copycats over the years but nothing feels like a Ping eye 2🤘Still in my bag❤️Great video
Still the best!
Tisi Tec drivers were great in the early 2000s… the i3 woods had the same shape but weren’t nearly as good
Mr. Vintage- When you showed the Ping Eye iron I noticed that this also influenced epic moving pictures, as clearly the Eye of Sauron from Lord of the Rings was copied from this Ping iron.
Lol, kittens also stole it! Cuddly Kittens
John Letters Golden Goose pre dates the Reuters Bullseye by a year - 1946 compared to 1947
I totally agree. I will always totally agree with you.
Without a doubt Ping started it all, development of the last 50 plus years.
Ping is ahead of the other big brands
To me personally it's ping or nothing i wish ping still made golf balls though 😂
As far as the modern day bag of clubs go, from recreational player clear up to PGA major tour winner, yeah I'd say Ping had the most influence. Had.
I don't believe one company outshines another or dominates the market on new ideas anymore. They are all that good! Very stiff competition for big bucks too.
I guess I could include Callaway for the modern day large drivers, wedges are Still influenced by Wilson, for decades now.
Wilson Wedges always worked for me!
