I really must try RBR. I’ve been aware of it for a long time, just never got round to installing it. Isn’t it amazing what the community do to keep old sims like this, GPL, AC etc going.
Completely falling in love with RBR. Thank you for sharing your favorite stages. For now this is how I approach stages in RBR. Find lists like this and go through them. Not disappointed yet!
I really love your enthusiasm 😃. Thank you for being so inspiring. One of the fundamental lessons I've learned about RBR: Shiny graphics is by far not the most important thing about a game. The dynamics which lead to true immersion and a modding community with heard and soul behind a game is much, much more important !!!!
To anyone reading this. Default cameras suck. To fix them, download pacenote plugin, put it in the Plugins folder, and in the game, double click right mouse button to start adjusting the camera for each separate car. It will be saved so you won't have to do it next time you start the game.
I started playing RBR last October and I am so glad I did. It is amazing fun and immersive. When you are playing, the graphics are a non-issue. One of my favorite stages is Chirdonhead II.... Which is based on the older graphics.... It is such a blast to drive. Give RBR a try if you haven't yet.

As time go by, I believe even more that RBR and GTR2 are the apex of sim racing. This game in it's "ultimate" modded version is perfect Takes me only 0:00.037 to forget that I'm looking to almost 20yo graphics
Hello Mike. I recommend installing a co pilot that has the correct rally calls. I find easier with the numbers instead of this medium fast ones. There's even one from dirt rally 1 and 2. Thanks and great video. Ps: Waiting for the next interview.
The system that’s in the game by default is close to what Burns and Reid used in real life. While McRae and Grist used a number system. It’s weird. There’s no standardised system for pace notes.
@@leandrosouza9875 even with numbers there’s variants. McRae and Ringer/Grist used the number for the gear it was to be taken in, while others like Phil Mills used the number for the difficulty. In Britain its usually 6 for fastest 1 for tightest while in New Zealand it’s the opposite and can go up to 7 or even 9
Gotta buy some cheap pedals for this... I only use Clubsport Elites but one of the reasons I tend to stick to iRacing is because a week of RBR is like putting 3 months of wear on a set of pedals .... I tried switching my brake to the clutch to save my load cell and that just ended up braking the clutch .. ugh
I love RBR but it still has the major problem of the feeling of the tires sliding over the top of the road and not gripping the road properly. As someone who has been rallying in real life for the last 20+ years it just doesn't feel right mainly the braking real life you have more bite than what you have in game. Other than that I have to agree RBR is still king when it comes to rallying sims

It took me a while to understand it. There are TH-cam videos on the subject and I'm not sure if Jake from GPLaps did a video on it. I downloaded from the RallySimFans website as you can get all the patches there to make it run on newer computers👍.

Road design in Africa? 😂 We don't design roads here, we drive around things that would require some effort to move and a road materialises. We sometimes even put tar on these roads just to provide more clearly defined potholes.
@@SimRacing604 South Africa. It's pretty normal this end of the continent, but as you head north, the roads become quite organic. Makes for some very unique rally stages. I actually just got RBR installed and working today and I've only had a few hours to play around with it, but the stages you suggested are pretty cool. Thanks for the recommendations.
Nowhere. It's abandonware and nobody sells it. You just download it for free. There's the rallysimfans distribution, look up for it. Download and run their installer, pick the "Minimal installation" option, and let it finish. This installs only the essentials, should be a 4 GB download. Note that cars are downloaded from within the game. Just pick the car you want, and if it's not yet installed, the game will download it. It might freeze during this download period, it's normal. If then you want to install more custom maps, you can run the installer again and pick the "Custom installation" option, and then just tick the specific maps or addons you want to install.
You should join us for Rally Sim fans for the next round next month. Myself, GPLaps, Oscar Hardwick, Janne Laahanen… it’ll be me mental. 🤣

For eye-candy I recommend the reshade preset RBR Retrolux.
It can be found in Race department.

I just downloaded it, so worth it I'm new to rally games and I'm having just as much fun as Dirt 2.0

You mean gravel? I agree with you but ngp7 has improved things and gravel physics are slowly getting in the right direction imo
