    Oh....and if you're only doing 3 or 4 yrs and ETS out for the college money, make sure you deploy at least while youre....so you get to get that experience going downrange/ sandbox. Its a whooole different ballgame/ Separate bag than just being stateside in CONUS/ not even going overseas during your short time in enlistment. If you do 4 yrs and don't deploy, you might be missing out on all the fun/ skipping the best part. Years later you might regret it afterwards by NOT going when you get the chance.

    God loves you so much that He sent His Holy Son Jesus from heaven to earth, to be born of a virgin, to grow up and die on a cross for our sins, and to be put into a tomb 3 days and rise from the dead the third day, and He (Jesus) went back up to heaven. We must receive Sinless Jesus sincerely to be God's child(John 1:12).After we get saved by grace through faith in Christ, if we truly love the Lord Jesus Christ, then we will obey Jesus(John 14:15). Mark 1:15 "And saying, the time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: Repent ye, & believe the gospel." Jesus said in John 14:15 "If you love Me, keep My commandments. "There's a real hell. It says in Revelation 21:8 "But for the cowardly, and unbelieving, and abominable, and murderers, and immoral persons and sorcerers and idolaters and all liars, their part will be in the lake that burns with fire and brimstone..." Please sincerely receive Holy Jesus and put your true faith and trust in Him today & repent!

    Great video, I retired from the AF after 23 years. The military is great for young people to bid some time until they figure out what they want to do. Like he said you get paid training and experience while you're deciding what to do. Remember this, someone will always tell you what to do and when to do it. Even if you start your own business your customers will tell you what to do and when to do it. The military like all large operation has many rules and regulations that seem dumb, don't let that bother you stay focused on YOUR future.

    If you want to join as an officer after college, many of the things he talked about still apply, but at the end of the day joining as an officer is a totally different ball game than enlisting. Use the military to help you pay for college and then enjoy your time as an officer.

    • @golfery5119
      @golfery5119 3 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      @@tonyclayton585 you should probably finish out your college because if you join the military, especially on active duty, you would have less time to do so.
      I would imagine that unless you get a good job at a good unit, you would have even less time for yourself to even do online courses in the army especially because you would be going to the field for weeks at a time and even doing things like long formations and PT (not to mention long ruck marches) and time in the motorpool would make your days longer.
      Unless you are much older, I would say wait it out till you are done with your college work, especially if you aren't even in your mid twenties yet.

    Was 18, parents split up, had a crappy seasonal minimum wage job that was coming to an end, was almost homeless, wanted to go to college but was broke.
    Joined the army and got an intelligence MOS. Best thing that happened. Opened a lot of doors after I got out and gave me college money. Looked great on my resume. I really loved my job. Got to travel and live in some great and not so great places. Lots of camaraderie and friendships and experiences. Everything paid for. Job security.

Hard work builds character, discipline, and while the skill of one job may not carry to another, trying your hardest to be the best you can be at whatever you do can be turned into a habit that will help you anywhere. So, assuming you’re in a career you enjoy, the hard work that goes into becoming skilled in your field is a benefit.

You don’t have to serve for your whole life serve one enlistment which is about 4 years if you like it stay if not leave. Why did you make Iraq, Afghanistan and Kuwait seem like a travel leisure destinations lol. I’ve been to Iraq “07 for deployment and never got to go again. But I was stationed in Germany for three years, after that stationed in Hawaii for four years which I got to choose both. I’ve been to over 23 different countries around the world and about 32 different. My friends stayed home and try to save up to go on vacation for one week while lived there for years paid. Was the Army every day sunshine and cupcakes absolutely not, but the days of really getting to enjoy life outweighed the hard ones substantially.

      I thought it was funny to make destinations already painted as war torn as vacation spots

    I'm thinking about joining but the recruiter I have been talking to said I will need to have tattoo removal and have my ears closed before they take consideration letting me in. This has been a hard decision for me because I feel like traveling and doing service for the country would be a new experience, and benefit my future since I'm single and I am having a hard time keeping a roof over my head or even getting a job, so I feel like it may be a good option for me I just have to clean up my appearance for it, the schooling and benefits sound amazing and could really get my life on track. It's a big decision to make, there's no slacking in the Army or Military lol It would also teach me major independence and responsibilities which would be good also

    I can go along with everything you said except having Limited Freedom. Where in your contract does it say you cannot have an opinion? I understand obeying superior officers even with stupid orders, but the freedom of speech applies to soldiers too.

    I hate how in the us military you are literally protecting the country and the freedoms it has, yet they take away tons of freedoms you had before, it’s like a punishment for serving for the country. Yes there are benefits but that’s probably the only thing keeping me from being in the military

      This guy isn't telling everything and so does the others. They say what they are taught to say. If their sergeant or higher up find them being too honest, they will suffer the consequences. I don't trust these people, none of them. They are undeniably here to recruit whether they know it or not. For that, I am not joining the military.

    Am I the only one that sees the reality here? If your mos is 11b your options are what exactly when you are discharged? What about 13b great my options are 5 civilian positions available for throwing shells down range at the rocky mountains for avalanche control. My experience as a soldier is the government could care less if you are there. You literally signed your life away when you sign that contract. They don't care about you and never will. Ask yourself this before joining. What is the only job in the U.S. that promises everything and guarantees nothing? Is your life worth the opinions of the people that will never see combat and will readily send you in there place?
