I actually met John McCain. He was standing behind me in the DC Airport. He was heading back to Arizona to go to one of his daughter's weddings. I just said "Hi," and he said, "Nice to see you," which is a very safe thing well-known people say to anyone they don't remember actually meeting. My only observation was that he looked like a real-life Hans Moleman. He was very little. He had big black, sad eyes, like a disappointed toy dog. And he looked like he had a dusting of salt all over him. A film of salt, if you will. I wanted to lick his head like a salty peanut.
“NEW RULE. If you’re going to dig a grave for John McCain, you have to use Meghan’s shovel face. Oh COME ON loosen up people okaaaayyyy”. The crowd bursts into a 5 minute standing ovation, cut to Neil DeGrasse Tyson shaking his head laughing, Michael Rappaport can be heard in the background screaming “Yo he violated worse than Shaq did Chris Dudley at the Garden B!”
McCain had a very long history with Navajos and it was for the most part awful. First he was a lacky for Goldwater and then he later had a role in big coal on the reservation. Before he died he was trying to get the tribe to sell it's water rights for cheap. These were so controversial because he was attempting to get the tribe to agree to a water bill that virtually no one in our tribal government saw nor were they allowed to partake in negotiations. It was so bad that Navajos who are generally apolitical met McCain in Window Rock and chased him away. Still though he liked to claim he was a good friend to the American Indian, a Great White Father type figure.
My Uncle graduated a couple classes before McCain. He said McCain bragged about his generational military service. McCain was 4th from the bottom of his class. And, yeah, McCain was a lousy pilot.
I realized where I'd heard Felix's voice before. Jon Bois' "Fighting in the Age of Lonliness" on SB Nation. Felix has a peculiar hatred of McCain over the MMA thing, but I totally get it
nice , thanks for the heads up. yea I hear this clip and I’m like who are these guys their so funny! the one guy I think they said his name is matt, but I think he was on a couple episodes of cushvlog , I think I hear him on their before sometimes
Whew! After listening to this. Kudos to Chapo;s Trap House. I guess, when Dick Cheney passes away. Amber must be a guest. The coverage will have a parade type atmosphere feel.
I appreciate Chapo's point of view here. The context of McCain's POW experience is something that doesn't really get brought up at all. It's true, it's not like the North Vietnamese had absolutely no reason to capture him and everything. I appreciate the honesty from Chapo here.
Been a while since I read it (Or frankly of DFW's work) but doesn't Foster-Wallace's "Rise Simba" serve as essentially a sloppy top giving, car-waxing of McCain as one of Politics sole straight shooters? Like its coated in enough academia to make it seem cynically removed, but otherwise praises him to the Heavens

Although I don’t think Trump is any worse policy-wise than Bush, and Trump was maybe worse at advancing the background conservative agenda, I’m not sure I want to deal with Trump fans again. I don’t want them getting even more radicalized for another 4 years.
100% agree. At least Trump-largely through incompetence-often exposed the twisted machinery of American politics lying beneath the veneer of decency and precious ‘norms.’ If a Bush like figure was elected today, they’d have a comprehensive mandate to burn the world as long as a return to normalcy proceeds unimpeded.
0:29 Will said John Mclane. Don't you bring my man Bruce Willis into your nonsense. We're all here to celebrate the new gender nonconforming bathroom that is the grave of senator John MCCAIN.
Actually….Chelsea Clinton is not stupid, she’s highly educated. 1. Bachelors of history from Stanford, graduating with “highest honors” 2. Masters of Philosophy, international studies- Oxford University 3. PhD- Oxford *I am not a Clintonite!!*
I was looking forward to an honest, critical look at his political life as a representative and senator, but the "unarmed robbery" bit pissing all over his enduring torture at the hands of north vietnam was pretty cringe.

Your words paint a beautiful picture
Interesting.
Stop licking John McCain's body. Do you want Havana Syndrome?! That's how you get Havana Syndrome!
Makes sense really. Kissing Hans Moleman is like kissing a peanut according to Homer.

Don't take the gifts.
Where do navajos live right now? And where did they live originally???
"You will never grovel your way into respect." Fucking truth.
I really enjoyed this show. It's hard to find the brutal honesty about this man who dropped bombs on peasants.
Amber's "Trump is reality TV, McCain is prestige TV" deserved more chuckles, even though McCain is actually the CW channel's attempt at Prestige TV.
Amber, come back.
It's true! Trump WAS reality TV, and John McCain was doing cameos like with Parks and Rec.
My Uncle graduated a couple classes before McCain.
He said McCain bragged about his generational military service.
McCain was 4th from the bottom of his class.
And, yeah, McCain was a lousy pilot.
“He camped the plane respawn” lmao
Holy fuck.
this channel is great. thanks for uploading all of these

Ben Garrison’s best work for sure
I dunno, him portraying Trump as Quixote because he doesn't understand that 'tilting at windmills' is stupid was pretty spectacular
I agree, although his old one about cops getting undeserved respect was good too
RIP Virgil Texas, died in a fire aboard the USS Forrestal
Actually he died in a beer fire on the USS Liberty
Imagine if anyone asked
No one can prove it was his plane or the one next to his, lay off.

Getting a little tired of the anti-Scotch-Irish bigotry on this otherwise fine radio program.

"I *need* you to help me ruin this man's legacy!" C'mon, leave Chris Benoit alone.
Can't believe Meghan McCain won't acknowledge her actual father, Chris Benoit.

She can't have a PhD from Oxford because the degree awarded by Oxford is called a D.Phil.

Meming much?
For the rich, Oxford is rich kid babysitting camp
Credentials do not equal education.

The most memorable thing about John McCain was his episode of SNL. Genuinely hilarious
