They had to ride horses that had lousy acceleration and pooped all over the place. In particular, if all this poverty-gives-you-emerods stuff is true, scholastic achievement should have collapsed in the Great Depression - and with the miracle of epigenetics, most of us should still be suffering those bad effects. But somehow none of this seems to have gone through the formality of actually happening.
It was mostly middle-class and upper-class Americans entering higher education before the depression. And since it was the working class that got hit the hardest (as usual), the depression didn't cause as much disruption in that area of society as it did in others. But hey, nice try at legitimizing eugenics and psuedo-scientific racism. Maybe one day, you'll be able to look at a black person without getting triggered and coming here to write your own even more boring version of The Bell Curve.
