I think it's hard to add to the coaster lineup at Magic Mountain without paying top dollar at this point, so given their likely lower budget, I think this is a solid new ride experience and fills the best possible gap given the circumstances. If and when Six Flags is ready to spend more money again, then yes they could definitely add something that fills an actual large gap. Great review!
I agree with you for SFMM it’s definitely hard to get something that adds into the park. I feel like the smaller raptor model, which has more whipyness would have been a better fit. I do get that with capacity that wasn’t an option, I would have considered Vekoma, their small models have the most whippyness elements I’ve ever ridden, but with better capacity. I know SF doesn’t work with Vekoma (yet). They might soon die to their price position in the market
Rode the very last car twice in a row (no exit) today. It was about 80F out. I had no idea what I was in for. That back row is CRAZY. 60%+ of the trains had the back seat empty and maybe 50% back 2 seats empty. Didn’t even notice till the ride ops told Us as we got off, 30min wait on 45 posted time. Ride ops were smashing it. Line moved great. The seating position was quite uncomfortable on my hips. There should be a warning on that back seat😅 I was comparing the intensity of that seat to X2.
The locker system for Wonder Woman also is shared with the queue. Many times you’re fighting people putting things away while you’re trying to grab your things. There are also free lockers to the left.
I love this channel so much! The intro/montage just felt so fresh and full of life. It’s also great to see you include your kids in your love for coasters
I love all the raptors personally, but agree that the smaller ones are superior in just about every way. I rank this 4th in the park, just behind Tatsu. I rank it far above WCR and slightly higher than Apoc. Very fun coaster if you dial your expectations right!
Four trains is definitely needed at GADv on any busy day. The ride may not have the capacity of the B&Ms at the park, but JDC allows the capacity to be consistent since the ride works itself. Having two in the station and two out on the course is a sight to see.
I was there on pass holder preview day and this is the first coaster opening I'd ever been to since becoming a thoosie so it meant a lot to me. All that being said I think the ride is great it's my second in the park with twisted Colossus being first and x2 being third. love the content and quality and I watch all your videos keep up the good work. 👍👊
I rank it number 3. Slightly above Tatsu. I don't think restraints are that bad, especially compared to the original raptors. It was good for the park to get more floater airtime because it was definitely lacking in that department. I do agree with what you said about the DC universe area. It really hurt that they cancelled the restaurant that was supposed to be there. Hopefully they aren't done.
Excited to ride next week. Taking my first ever trip to SFMM and my first ever trip out of state just to ride roller coasters. Have to say this channel has a lot to do with that 😆
I recently rode Jersey Devil back in July, and I wasn’t expecting much due to all of the chatter in the coaster community. I got the back row my first 2 rides and I was I shocked how forceful the first drop was - out of my seat the whole way down paired with that gut wrenching stomach drop sensation. the drop was even crazier and more forceful than on El Toro. I was pleasantly surprised. and while the harnesses do suck compared to a lap bar, it really didn’t bother me too much - and I’m a bigger guy, 6’1” 210lbs. I’m going back to SFMM next month - so if Wonder Woman really is better than Jersey Devil like a lot of people are saying, then I’m expecting a fantastic ride.
For those who are younger and shorter (between 48" - 54") This is a great addition to SFMM. The last day I was there with my daughter, several of the coasters were closed (Superman, Ninja, Apocalypse) and without WW it would have been a disappointing day. I think the #5 -7 ranking is appropriate.
I literally rode this for the first time the day this video was uploaded lol. I got an early morning ride in the front row with a half-full train--it was super underwhelming. A couple pops of floater here and there but overall quite forceless. After that ride, I'd rank it seventh in the park. I rode it again at the end of the day in the back row with a full train--there was airtime galore and lots of whip. It was almost as forceful as the smaller raptors. Now I'd rank it number four in the park, and above the other raptors.
I 100 percent agree with you brother !! This ride is just not special for it’s 20th coaster !! I’m sorry the long drawed out single rails are just not the best! My thighs were killing me after I got off my 1 ride! Just wish magic mountain would have done something amazing for number 20!!
In December, on X2, they were letting people leave all their stuff on the floor just inside the gates, next to the train. In the past, I left my souvenir bottle in the car, because it was dumb to pay for lockers just to have "free" soda. It was nice to be able to bring my bottle into the park again.
I've not yet ridden Wonder Woman Flight of Courage since I only visited SFMM once in late November 2019, but I finally rode my 1st (and so far still my only) RMC Raptor this year during my 1st multi state coaster trip while visiting SFGA N.J. for the 1st time since 1981 and managed to ride it 33 times during the last two days of May and 1st two days of June; 33 times. Usually the ride op was ok with seating preferences, especially if it wasn't crowded, and so I rode in every seat but preferred the back and rode there most of the time. I loved Jersey Devil, but rode it so much that at some point I felt pain from the soft shoulder restraints and noticed I could easily remover them myself. The last day I was there I was riding El Toro with a ride op from J.D. 4 days earlier and confessed to him that I'd removed the shoulder restraints from J.D. and he said "We all do that!" At SFGA I place Jersey Devil below El Toro and Nitro but above Kingda Ka; and at SFMM I'd probably place Wonder Woman Flight of Fear after Twisted Colossus, X2 and Riddler's Revenge, but before Tatsu. I cannot say where WWFOF places in comparison to West Coast Racers since WCR wasn't open yet when I visited SFMM.
I rode Wonder Woman Flight of Courage once on 9/26. It was down for much of the day and I was one of the first on when it opened. By the time I got off of it, the line was incredible, so I didn't repeat. I could barely recall the ride. I didn't know what to expect and this was my first ride on one of the larger single-rail RMCs. I thought it was fun, but not memorable. A couple weeks later on 10/10 I was at Six Flags Great Adventure. I went straight to Jersey Devil as I had booked the trip to ride El Toro before the accident, but the last time I was at SFGAdv, Jersey Devil had been closed. It was walk-on. I went back-to-back about 9-10 times. Walk-on every time! On the last ride I intended to take, it went down and was down for most of the day. In the last hour of the day, it was up again and still walk-on every time. I got front-row, back-row and all in-between. I rode 5 more times back-to-back and I know the layout very well now, and I like it. With this vid, I see what the minor differences are, but they are very similar coasters and a definite recommend. I'm a front-row guy at heart, but you have to ride this back-row. It's a can't miss ride! Enjoy!
I just rode Wonder Woman for the first time this last saturday! I got one ride in the second row at around 3pm and a second ride in the front at 1am. I don't think I noticed that big of a difference between the rows in terms of overall experience, but that drop in the front felt super cool to stare down. I definitely need to get a back row ride at some point because I know that would be absolutely insane. For my first single rail though it was great! Personally I didn't find the shoulder harness' to be that much of a con. I actually felt surprisingly comfortable with them. Probably the only 2 cons I really had was what you mentioned with not being able to choose your seat, and the way the cars are designed. I found the placement for your feet with that hump in the middle super uncomfortable and awkward. It forces you to be put into a weird position that ended up making my hip cramp pretty badly halfway through my second ride. I'm glad my first ride I didn't have that problem so I was still able to fully experience it without issue. Other than those though, I think it's great. Super smooth like you said and a good length. Definitely would try to hop on Wonder Woman every time I visit now.
I rode this ride in the back row the first time I had been on it… and I loved it. My friends said it was boring and I thought that they were crazy for saying that.. until they rode in back too lol
I agree with everything you said. Especially the operations and the restraints. I was really impressed the operations and compared to Railblazer, the should harness was horrible.
I haven’t ridden wonder woman yet, but I will be visiting the park in November. One thing I can say about the larger raptors is that they get better with age. I rode the jersey devil on its first day of operation, during an event only open to passholders, RMC was still on site and I got to ride with a couple of them. I remember not being super impressed because I was expecting just as intense an experience as I had on the prototype raptor down at fiesta Texas. I went back to Six Flags great adventure earlier this year, I and due to them actually running four train operations I got to ride the jersey devil 12 times in total. 10 of those rides were consecutive, so I have been in every seat. I was really really surprised with the level of intensity that jersey devil offered on my most recent visit. I the mid course brake run seemed to be completely pointless. I literally got a core workout riding that roller coaster as much as I did. I rode the coaster 10 times, then I went over to the other side of the park and rode El Toro (my absolute favorite coaster) twice, and rather than continue riding El Toro ( which also had an incredibly short line) I will point out that this visit was just one week prior to the most recent accident on El Toro, and my rides on El Toro were a bit rougher than I remember, so I went back over to Jersey devil for two more rides. I tell you that jersey devil just blazees through its course these days I’m very excited for the wonder woman coaster at Magic Mountain, and I’m excited to see how it ages, hopefully in the same fashion as jersey devil.
This was the first single rail I got to ride, and I was surprised how similar it felt to all the hybrid coasters. I guess RMC has a signature style, though it would be better without the harness
This is exactly how I feel about JDC/WWFOC, I just think Raptors were designed for tight maneuvers and compact layouts, so it just doesn't hit the same on the bigger ones. I'm hoping they start making some new custom layouts for parks that want raptors and don't just keep cloning the originals and this new model, but I guess we'll just have to see what happens.
With so many coasters today having 4-wide seating, the unique experience of riding single file with an unobstructed view off both sides is just fun, even if the intensity isn't as extreme as Steel Vengeance.
I got a ride in 85° in the late afternoon, and every single drop gave me a ton of prolonged ejector. The camelback in particular shot me up and didn't let me down until it hit the bottom of the valley
Just rode it last Friday, haven’t ridden one of the smaller layout raptors yet, so my experience of the inversions and airtime were both good. Didn’t feel like the mid course brake run engaged at all on my one ride in the 7th row, so maybe that’s a factor too. I’d rank this over west coast racers though. I prefer the suspense of the lift hill and height of the 1st drop of WW over the somewhat underwhelming launches of west coast racers. I agree with one of your cons, those straps made it uncomfortable. But the biggest con for me was the seat, and having to straddle the hump was awkward on my pelvis, knees, and ankles. Best analogy I could give is I felt like I had to hold a yoga pose for the entire ride. Super distracting from the ride experience for me. Then my wife, who was riding in the seat in front of me, bruised and scratched herself on on her back pretty good from hitting the corner of the harness as she stood up to get off, she’s fine, but that also became another con 😅
I had a similar experience my first day with this ride. A middle row, a front row and back. (It was just dumb luck, but I was happy.) Having never ridden a single-rail, the front ride stood out a lot because it was new enough that there were still bits of black rubber tire on the track, and I wasn't 'reading' the bright yellow thing in front of me well enough to know what it was gonna do next so each element was a surprise. For me, Full Throttle just barely edges this out for it's restraints and backwards launch even though this feels more complete.
I wonder if it has happened since WW opened in July. At least none of the coasters are SBNO for an indefinite time. When I was there in Oct Riddler and Scream were closed for the day.
My little background… I’ve been on all the Raptors in the country. My first was Wonder Woman at Fiesta Texas. I was blown away by the intensity of just how small of an area that raptor uses as opposed to Jersey Devil and Wonder Woman at Magic Mountain. I remember watching the videos for Jersey Devil and thinking that the ride seemed very different than its sisters at Fiesta and Great America. The longer and taller raptors are way less intense and in a way are more elegant than their smaller sisters. I agree that the later drops aren’t that forceful and don’t have a lot of bite. The smaller Raptors have such bite on their second drops, and it’s unfortunate we don’t get those amazing ejectors on the bigger Raptors. Oh well they’re still a lot of fun. I was just marathoning Jersey Devil at SFGA two weekends ago and the setting next to the huge forest at night was absolutely unreal! These raptors are fun. When can we see the 500 ft. one?? 😂
Having ridden WW about 10-15 times couldn’t agree more about the row you are in. First two times I was in the front seat and felt like you were I wouldn’t have even put WW in my MM top 10. Third riding was in back row and there WW is easily in my top 5 at MM. Now I go for row 10 or back each time if I can.
I actually had some sustainable air time near the middle of the train when I rode it back in August. I actually had a better ride on Wonder Woman than I had on Westcoast Racers (the comfort collars were unbearable that day).
I've yet to ride an RMC Raptor, but I have a California trip planned for the Spring for Super Nintendo World's opening, and if all goes well, this will be my first single rail coaster. I'm looking forward to it!
Enjoyed this! Look forward to trying this out next week. I’ll be visiting MM for the first time next week and have very limited time (I’ll have all Friday (18th) and Saturday until about 3pm before I need to leave to catch my flight back to the UK. Do you have any tips for the first time visitor to MM? - would you recommend flashy pass? What’s the best order to do the coasters in? Any help much appreciated. This was a spur of the moment decision to visit LA on the back of attending a conference in Phoenix, AZ.
Fun ride! The layout really does feel like a lasso being tossed around Wonder if the shoulder straps differ from the single-seater in San Antonio. I don't recall those being annoying or tight.
I recently rode this one. I did my first ride in row 1 and my last in row 12. Very different ride experiences. Front row overall was better but damn that ejector air on the first drop in the back to me was almost as awesome as the first drop on X2. Overall I think I like this better than west coast racers (would have to ride them on the same day to be sure though) but not as much as full throttle which is my number 4. So I think a tentative #5 in the park for me. I don’t love the fact that it’s so 2 dimensional. I would love a helix or even a banked turn that’s more than just a 180 degree turn around lol. I will do more testing this winter during the holiday lights and see if it grows on me at all.✌️😎
My understanding with WWGL being shaky was due to the trains. We went last weekend and they were only running 1 train and had a sign out front of the ride saying the other two were being refurbished by RMC. Hopefully that fixes the rattle, the 1 train ops was awful that day lol.
It’s interesting that you had that experience on X2. I’ve always been able to put stuff on the side but when I went this summer they made us use a locker. No idea what’s actually going on there.
Thank you! I didn't feel any airtime either and that was kind of a letdown. It's nice to see someone agree with the no airtime on many hills I was like "Whaaat? This floater hill has no floater?"
I agree that there shouldn't be so much drama to get the row we want. Not just for this ride, but for so many others across so many parks. Six Flags parks don't usually have too much of that drama, except for the raptors & Full Throttle. But there's so much of that drama at Cedar Fair parks, and even some at Dollywood & Silver Dollar City.
Honestly the only problem I had with jersey devil was the leg gap, that's it, it was an awesome ride, took leave from the navy and went home for Christmas and rode it with my dad, we had fun
You definitely need to reride Jersey Devil. I had some amazing night rides over the summer in the back row to the point it was hauling into the brake run.
I went on it a few weeks ago when I was visiting my family in So Cal. My sister and I were both a bit unimpressed with it. I think it's because there's so many great coasters at Magic Mountain this one just kinda pales in comparison. It's not a bad ride at all. Compared to my ride on a standard sized raptor (Stunt Pilot at Silverwood) I have to say the standard size is more intense and more fun.
I messaged you on Instagram about this but I’ll leave an updated thing here: things I agree on, yea. The shoulder harnesses are kinda ridiculous. I would like to see them not use those anymore. The originals left my shoulder bone feeling achy and the new ones just feel… useless… the other thing I agree on is the longer drawn out single rails have kind of a design problem that contradicts their original idea (although the park still saves money… so at least that’s still a thing…) but the original idea for the single rail was to have a tighter footprint and a more intense ride. With a longer train, the added length does 3 bad things. 1, it makes it to where EVERYTHING has to be elongated. So it’s no longer tight. 2, the weight, air resistance and the reduced steepness contribute to a lesser performance. Stunt pilot accommodated the 2 extra cars very well by making parts that could handle being steeper, steeper and adding little flavors to make up for the slightly elongated elements. But honestly? Stunt pilot in my opinion is just as intense if not better than the prototypes but not quite in the same ways either. For instance, the airtime hill on stunt pilot is banked more, so it’s a different feeling altogether. The drop off after the helix and left turn on stunt pilot is steeper than on the prototypes so you get absolutely LAUNCHED there. However, what I will say is despite the hills not being AS intense, I did find my back rows on FOC pretty gnarly. The camelback did have some pretty sustained airtime for me and so did the hills at the end. Now, I agree it’s not as intense of airtime as stunt pilots after helix drop or the prototypes airtime Hill, but I personally wouldn’t go as far as to say they don’t have any punch. They certainly seem to have a bit. As good as twisted colossus? No. But some. I rode JDC on a rainy morning and that same night after it warmed up. In the morning, it was lame. At night, it was actually decent. But it wasn’t single rail intense or even hybrid intense really. Speak of, where would I place it? Well… I would actually put it IN FRONT of WCR. All WCR did was make me really dizzy and kinda not good feeling… and I really didn’t notice much airtime on it at all. (Not any better than twisted or FOC for that matter.) so… idk. But in the future, it’s my personal opinion that RMC should definitely stick with 10 or less for their single rails. If capacity is a problem, make a Trex!
What do you think your opinion be of JD and/or WW had you not ridden the prototypes first? Also, I got room on my shoulder harness when I rode JD last week and it was a riot
I rode Jersey Devil and legs and arms up, you don't care about the shoulder restreints, it's just pure fun. Bottom tierd for RMC but so much better than many things
With all the bad reviews of Jersey Devil I didn't expect to like it, but I ended up loving it. Enthusiasts need to stop making assumptions before riding things. Its one of my favorites and the capacity was phenomenal, the only other ride in the park on its level is El Toro in my opinion. I've ridden the majority of RMCS in the country and I prefer JD to many of them. I think expectations of it being amazing or not good can really sway someone's opinion and after traveling the country and world riding coasters I try to go into all rides with no expectations based on others opinions. Makes it so much more enjoyable and leaves the element of surprise.
for me, i thought the airtime in the very back row was pretty great at night. on top of the drop the first camelback and the two drops after the turn around and mid course gave great floater and ejector
So I've had the chance to ride JDC after the park has closed and after a good day of running. The back row was insane. Every element hit hard. First camelback gave fantastic ejector and I was whipped in and out of every element. I have also test ridden this ride right when it opened in 2021 and before a normal park day in 2022. These rides are very tame and show that JDC needs time to warm up but they changed a whole bunch of stuff since 2021 and the ride is much better in general.
I think these single rails excel in small footprints, where they can really flex on those tight turns etc. I still havent ridden this, granted, but I've been on RailBlazer a bunch, and I still hold hope for seeing a TRex at some point.
Have you rode Camden parks 100 year old wooden roller coaster? It’s in Wav. It’s wild bc you think it’s going to fall apart while you’re on it. Legit tape on the posts holding it up.
I agree with most of the things you mentioned. I have it at my #6 in the park with Full Throttle ahead of it because of the lap bar only on Full Throttle. I agree with the air time hill and off axis hills not doing much for me. Definitely agree with the back seat having the best drop. If this only had lap bars I would probably put it top 4 in the park.
As with RailBlazers over the shoulder straps, these dont bother me either. Sure it would be nice if they weren’t there, but I felt the airtime was strong enough and the straps flex as well to allow for room to float or eject. Thought it was great overall!
Not related but I just wanted to let you know that Renegade at Valleyfair has received retracking at the bottom of the first drop and I believe it is getting a little more retracking every week. Small sections.
I’ve only ridden Jersey Devil, and it felt like a complete package. Nothing negative to report at all. I’ve come to learn I enjoy milder thrill coasters over the really intense ones, so this one tops my list.
I rode Jersey Devil for the first time this year with low expectations and it blew me away. It was almost as intense as the only other raptor i've done (WW at Fiesta). I'm wondering if these rides just have a slow first year.
I've only gotten one ride so far, but I honestly rank this as my number 2 at the park. Most people might not like this, but I rank it above Twisted Colossus. To me, the collars don't take away from the experience, and I just think it's all around more pleasant. I'm not a fan of intense airtime. I'm definitely more of a hangtime person. I usually ride Twisted just for that incredible stall on the green side, but now I can get it on Wonder Woman and enjoy myself more. It's not to say that I think Twisted is bad, but it's just not my taste. Of course, Wonder Woman doesn't have the hangtime bliss of my number 1, Full Throttle, but I honestly will probably ride WW more because I like the more graceful ride that it offers. Gosh, you know, I just realized that Magic Mountain is chock full of awesome inversions: from Viper's slow batwing, to X2's crazy flips, to Tatsu's chest crushing pretzel loop, to Throttle's hangtime heaven. I think we should see a ranking video for them.
The coaster just opened. Give a little time to season up. Same with JDC. At first it was meh, but now I really like it a lot. See my video about JDC. Same too. Try it again some months later. Especially in the summer.
You have some valid points as the straps did come down while riding it, but I think the air-time is better than you are giving it credit for. I do thing you need to be in the back 2-3 rows otherwise the ride experience changes drastically. When it is running at its peak and I'm in the back row, it is #36/439 credits for me. I have it third in the park behind X2 & Twisted Colossus. IF I get a seat in the first 8-9 rows, I place it fourth in the park behind Tatsu and it would be in my low 50s overall. I do think they need 3 trains when the park is busier as with 2 the operations pauses at points.
Hey buddy, I feel sorry about your rides on that. I rode jersey devil a few weeks ago in various seats and I felt airtime like 10 times and back row wild rip your shirt off. I don't raise my hands and I hold the straps away from my neck as I learned to do with comfort collars too. Great video tho!
This ride looks to fix everything with Jersey Devil- not that there’s any problems with the ride! I agree, Jersey Devil has an insane drop and Wonder Woman looks to run even faster and this is its first years (also the shoulder strap always fell off when I was on the giant camelback)
I have only ever rode Jersey Devil, and I only got a single ride due to it going down later in the day when I was there. I found the restraints to be excruciatingly painful, like my legs were being sawed off. I just couldn't enjoy any of the good elements that it had. The coaster ranks in my lower third but I really want a 2nd ride to see if the back row was just a bad idea or not.
i agree with what u said but for me its my #1 at the park. its the perfect mix of intensity and airtime for me. when i rode jersey devil i was very disappointed since it was nowhere near as good as ww for me and its actually about 5 places lower than ww in my rankings
I haven't been to a park out of Texas in years, but I think I'd prefer WW GLC's layout over this. Although, the smaller capacity and short runtime hurt it. I've been to SFFT 3 times this year, and I didn't ride it the last time because the line was way too long. Even the Flash Pass queue I waited in was long. Two of the 8 seats were out of order, and I think they were only running one train. I never noticed the roughness either time, but my friend had back pain after riding it once. Be prepared to wait on busy days.
I thought this ride was fantastic. I was able to steal a ride without waiting my first day of my trip lol that building was musty. I have this 4th behind Tatsu, TC and X2 I think it’s a fantastic addition to the park.
Haven't been on this but Jersey Devil is at my home park and I feel pretty much exactly the same as you do with Wonder Woman after many rides. Great first drop. Restraints suck (not just the harnesses but I hate how the lap bar splays your legs). You'd expect the airtime to be stronger. A bit pointless at a park with world class ejector (Toro), a floater machine (Nitro), and so many damn loopers.
Did you have some footage of when you were at Magic Mountain the day of the power outage? Maybe that would be a good video because California has had blackouts. Also, since Canobie Coaster greyed out on Jersey Devil Coaster's 1st drop and I blacked out on Wonder Woman: Flight of Courage's 1st drop, high turn, and final valley, did you greyout on Wonder Woman: Flight of Courage?
Wonder Woman at night and in the front row, I see what you are saying I think just make as much room as possible the most full train possible idk it’s a top 2 for me
We just rode this last weekend for the first time twice and I was disappointed that the ride is not smooth. The ride is fun, but that and the cage restraints are really uncomfortable. I didn't see this as very re-ridable personally. my personal faves are Twisted Colossus, Full Throttle, Tatsu and West Coast Racers...
I don’t know if anyone else felt this, but on the ride I felt that the restraint was a couple inches too far from my thigh and hip so any time there was and ejector moment or the first drop I would get pushed in to the restraints and at a chill moment I would fly right back. overall I felt that the restraint was quite painful but this was my first RMC so I didn’t know what to expect
And the moving station is awesome. It reminds me of the moving station on Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey (if you’ve rode it, you’d know what I’m talking about)
It’s kind of weird, I got the same experience on the same day. Three rides; front, middle, back. But I enjoyed the airtime. The biggest surprise was the lateral pop I got in the front popping into the carousel turnaround. I loved the airtime moments in the first half, but the second half could have been much stronger. Also, when I rode railblazer & GLC in 2019 I remember them being butter smooth, so I was very surprised to find slight jitters and bumps on this coaster. Overall, because I think Magic Mountain needed another airtime focused coaster, I really liked flight of courage. I need to reride Tatsu & Full Throttle before I am confident with my ranking, but right now I put it 3rd in the park.
In my experience I didn’t really need to time which row we got, I just asked if I could have the back and I got it. I think the ride is really good but not amazing, it’s a good 20th addition.
It exceeded my expectations, but the "it doesnt add much to the park" aspect is huge and spot on- for this reason i dont believe it ranks higher than full throttle. We're all blessed this replaced g***n l****n...I hope they fill in DC/Undeground areas
It's a fun ride but its not enticing enough for me to return to the park just to ride it again. I think you're absolutely correct about WW not adding anything to the park besides being the first single rail coaster there. I feel like Magic Mountain is kind of at that point where it has so many coasters that in the future, adding an ever so slightly larger or faster copy of an existing model is just going to fall flat with a lot of people. From a coaster diversity standpoint, its probably time for Six Flags to invest in something groundbreakingly original for their flagship park instead of chasing random, super specific records that people stop caring about within a month of hearing about them. I rank it 5th or 6th in the park depending on how well Apocalypse is running any given day.
I think they need a maure spinner that inverts it wouldn’t be very expensive
I agree with you for SFMM it’s definitely hard to get something that adds into the park. I feel like the smaller raptor model, which has more whipyness would have been a better fit. I do get that with capacity that wasn’t an option, I would have considered Vekoma, their small models have the most whippyness elements I’ve ever ridden, but with better capacity. I know SF doesn’t work with Vekoma (yet). They might soon die to their price position in the market
Great points, would love to see a spinner or Vekoma show up at MM!
Y is Six Flags broke, bro?
I don't know why it took me so long to realize Magic Mountain is the second park with two RMC's
@Tusky1234 Games Supporting 🇺🇦 Fiesta Texas
Walibi Holland wil probably be the 3rd park with 2 RMC's, when it gets the 2024 Raptor.
Or SDC with the Fire in the Hole overhaul
U mean ttd?
@Tusky1234 Games Supporting 🇺🇦 why would they get rid of corkscrew it’s an iconic ride
Rode the very last car twice in a row (no exit) today. It was about 80F out. I had no idea what I was in for. That back row is CRAZY. 60%+ of the trains had the back seat empty and maybe 50% back 2 seats empty. Didn’t even notice till the ride ops told
Us as we got off, 30min wait on 45 posted time. Ride ops were smashing it. Line moved great. The seating position was quite uncomfortable on my hips.
There should be a warning on that back seat😅 I was comparing the intensity of that seat to X2.
2:14, RIP to the guys hat. 😂😂
This has crazy whip and great ejecter
@@Starlit43 I do love the whip with this ride, especially towards the front.
The drop on FOC kicked my ass too, so they shouldn't be too different
4 days earlier and confessed to him that I'd removed the shoulder restraints from J.D. and he said "We all do that!"
At SFGA I place Jersey Devil below El Toro and Nitro but above Kingda Ka; and at SFMM I'd probably place Wonder Woman Flight of Fear after Twisted Colossus, X2 and Riddler's Revenge, but before Tatsu. I cannot say where WWFOF places in comparison to West Coast Racers since WCR wasn't open yet when I visited SFMM.
I love the new intro, still miss the old one😢but the new one is still great😊
I rode Wonder Woman Flight of Courage once on 9/26.
Wonder Woman looks awesome! I’m hoping to make it out to SFMM soon and ride this single rail coaster
New intro is awesome!
I love the new opening video✌️❤️
I'm heading out in two weeks for my first time ever. I love jersey devil, it deff had to grow on me, I'm super excited to see how I like Wonder woman
I like the fact the drop is right after the chain life and there's no turn but that's just for looks
"The first park to operate 20 coasters at once"
Knowing this park, I doubt that ever happens.
I wonder if it has happened since WW opened in July. At least none of the coasters are SBNO for an indefinite time. When I was there in Oct Riddler and Scream were closed for the day.
@@AirtimeThrills Lol it happened yesterday when I went. Lucky me!
When can we see the 500 ft. one?? 😂
Whenever Cedar Point opens their wallet thats when
Having ridden WW about 10-15 times couldn’t agree more about the row you are in.
No wayyyy, this ride opened on my birthday!
Fun ride! The layout really does feel like a lasso being tossed around
Wonder if the shoulder straps differ from the single-seater in San Antonio.
I will do more testing this winter during the holiday lights and see if it grows on me at all.✌️😎
Love ur new intro!
Looks really cool and fun. If only we could have one of these rides at Canada's Wonderland.
My understanding with WWGL being shaky was due to the trains. We went last weekend and they were only running 1 train and had a sign out front of the ride saying the other two were being refurbished by RMC. Hopefully that fixes the rattle, the 1 train ops was awful that day lol.
Yeah i was there with 1 train at SFFT also..no fun
Yeah, at least on these i can understand it but itd be nice to just have gates like railblazer. I still dont get why FT HAS to assign rows either
Is that a new official channel intro? 😮
It is
@@AirtimeThrills That’s neat!
I rode Jersey Devil and legs and arms up, you don't care about the shoulder restreints, it's just pure fun. Bottom tierd for RMC but so much better than many things
Man...I got a back row night ride and I did get a crazy rip your face off experience. It was insane
Jersey Devil is surprisingly rough, but the airtime is great
Not related but I just wanted to let you know that Renegade at Valleyfair has received retracking at the bottom of the first drop and I believe it is getting a little more retracking every week.
I love your videos man
I've only gotten one ride so far, but I honestly rank this as my number 2 at the park.
That moment you realize your in the new intro walking next to Viper.
1 train on the 8 seaters is pretty much a no go...just forget it
Heck yeah. New video and I am 500th like.
Where can I read your roller coaster rankings?
Why didn’t you post a playoff predictions video on HRP
Can you do a pros and cons for dr Diabolical’s cliffhanger or a full review
Did you have some footage of when you were at Magic Mountain the day of the power outage? Maybe that would be a good video because California has had blackouts. Also, since Canobie Coaster greyed out on Jersey Devil Coaster's 1st drop and I blacked out on Wonder Woman: Flight of Courage's 1st drop, high turn, and final valley, did you greyout on Wonder Woman: Flight of Courage?
Wonder Woman at night and in the front row, I see what you are saying I think just make as much room as possible the most full train possible idk it’s a top 2 for me
Airtime thrills what do you think the most likely replacement for TTD is?
Can you make a video comparing this ride with Jersey Devil coaster
We just rode this last weekend for the first time twice and I was disappointed that the ride is not smooth. The ride is fun, but that and the cage restraints are really uncomfortable. I didn't see this as very re-ridable personally. my personal faves are Twisted Colossus, Full Throttle, Tatsu and West Coast Racers...
I don’t know if anyone else felt this, but on the ride I felt that the restraint was a couple inches too far from my thigh and hip so any time there was and ejector moment or the first drop I would get pushed in to the restraints and at a chill moment I would fly right back. overall I felt that the restraint was quite painful but this was my first RMC so I didn’t know what to expect
new intro!
Awesome vid prediction 4 btw
Close
And the moving station is awesome. It reminds me of the moving station on Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey (if you’ve rode it, you’d know what I’m talking about)
One thing SFMM could really improve on is the landscaping on their rides, at least the station is covered and the track painted lol
They should really use this track to remodel old steel coasters. Think of what they could do with a ride like big apple coaster.
I rank it 5th or 6th in the park depending on how well Apocalypse is running any given day.
dang it would suck if energylandia suddenly had more coasters than magic mountain 👀
More crappy coasters than SFMM. Most of those coasters are cheap generic crap funded by EU money
@@AdamSmith-gs2dv yeah aside from like 5 or 6, the rest are family rides
@@AdamSmith-gs2dv But that top 2 is pretty nasty it’s a stronger possibility that both Zadra and Hyperion are better than anything Magic Mountain has.
