@@wonder_keeper Ken, yes that is the size of the 20H that I wondered about. Thank you for all of the additional info! I used to raise angelfish when I lived in Chicago, but now I am out in Utah and the water here is much harder. However, I find that the angels do just great in this water as well!
Hi Kim, most of the time I use 6gal long or less for newly swimmers. It also depends on how large the number of angelfish fries and what type of angelfish fries. Deeper / greater area of a large tank can give newly swimmers hard time to hunt for food. For albino fry , I use 1 gal or less container in a tank and feed them for few days to a week before I let them out to a larger tank. Is it 24.25" x 12.5" x 16.75" (LxWxH) of a 20H for a pair are you asking about or some different dimensions? Great questions. @@kimgilbertsen8216 For temporary breeding tank of a pair angel the length, width x width of 24.25" x 12.5" is somewhat ok, but the height 16.75" may not be ok. It depends on bare bottom tank or not , how low you let top water line drop and what type angelfish fin pair ( stander fins vs veil /super veil ). ....etc Most of my breeding tanks would be 24" height ( I will explant more detail why in video ). My city water somewhat not hard water ,but energy bills are super high. This can also come down to tank size and amount of water change....etc Did you have any problem hatching angelfish egg with hard water? I came across other breeders told everyone that their hard water did no good for hatching angelfish egg.

I picked up a pair of Philippine Blues and they are starting to look for good breeding sites, plus I have a pair of Golds that have spawned twice but they are in a community tank and I need to set up a tank just for them. Plus a newly forming pair of a Pearlscale and a normal standard angel. So all of a sudden I’m faced with needing to set up like 3 or 4 tanks to house just the pairs! This is all in between work and everything else going on in my life!
@@kimgilbertsen8216 Don't let yourself burned out with the hobby. Know what you need to breed not what you want to breed. Need mean you love that variety as well that variety can sell / trade well in the hobby. If you just breed anything and everything, then it may be too much to handle. You may use tank like 40gal or larger for grow out or dividers for keeps pairs.
