Hi new best friend! As a former OTR driver in perspective as worst to best as an otr driver (with exceptions) Good: Alabama: not bad, surprisingly nice (I'm a gay woman) I was treated very well every where I've been. Easy going. Arizona: Hot, but pretty. Phoenix is an ok city. Flagstaff is boring. Sonoma is gorgeous. Colorado: The mountain driving I can pass on but its still beautiful. Saw my first bald eagle there. Delaware: Quick to drive through, small towns, not bad in general for drivers. Quiet enough. Good beaches. Florida: Always a sigh of relief getting a load down there during the winter. Great paying loads. Georgia: one of my adopted homes. Great bbq. ATL is awesome. Savannah is even better. Such a fun town. Louisianna: Amazing food. New Orleans is a great city--tons of culture and great food. That huge lake is like driving over the ocean. Michigan: once you get passed the meth heads knocking on your door for money it's pretty ok. Yeah Detroit sucks but Ann Arbor and Grand Rapids are exceptionally welcoming areas. Mississippi: Actually very pretty along the Pearl. Quiet. low key. Good roads. Maryland: aside from one of my best friends living there its relatively flat and easy to traverse outside of beltway traffic. Baltimore gets a bad rep but is really a neat city. Minnesota: easy going, good loads, Minneapolis is a fun town (or at least it was) Nevada: Super beautiful. Had the pleasure of kicking back in a casino near a truck stop in a beautiful mountain valley one night with some older ladies from the shoshone tribe sipping on local beer and telling war stories. New Hampshire: just good. No bad traffic, low key people, pretty scenery New mexico: great scenery and great food. North Carolina: Beautiful scenery...driving near lake norman at night is really pretty. I like Charlotte and all the other major cities. Easy driving. Oregon: Portland is a trip. Tennessee: super low key. great loads. I love nashville. Texas: Huge but a good drive, great drivers except in houston and austin. Very trucker friendly. All the cities are fun... quirky little stops in the middle of nowhere I've enjoyed. Utah: Breathtaking scenery. Wisconsin: most polite people in the country Washington: not bad. Pretty scenery, Seattle is ok enough. Bad: Arkansas: Hot, bland in most spots, too much up and down in the others...lots of shitty poor towns I need to lock my doors in California: worst D.O.T. awful road conditions, terrible drivers, depressingly dry Connecticut: awful drivers Idaho: shitty Mexican food. Illinois: boring (Chicago is ok) Iowa: outside of iowa 80 truck stop it sucks for truckers. terrible dot Indiana: too much road construction Kansas: boring. takes for every to get through Kentucky: too much up and down driving. Missouri: Misery Massachusetts: by far the worst drivers. Boston does not make up for it. New York: see Massachusetts (and I live here.) New Jersey: see new york Nebraska: no cell service ever Ohio: dull, all the cities are lame. oklahoma: toll roads. Pennsylvania; too much mountain driving and road construction Rhode island: can I even fit my truck in here? Boston traffic. Virginia: get called into every weight station. Angry cops. Hi new best friend!
As a former OTR driver in perspective as worst to best as an otr driver (with exceptions)
Good:
Alabama: not bad, surprisingly nice (I'm a gay woman) I was treated very well every where I've been.
Minnesota: easy going, good loads, Minneapolis is a fun town (or at least it was)
Nevada: Super beautiful. Had the pleasure of kicking back in a casino near a truck stop in a beautiful mountain valley one night with some older ladies from the shoshone tribe sipping on local beer and telling war stories.
New Hampshire: just good. No bad traffic, low key people, pretty scenery
New mexico: great scenery and great food.
North Carolina: Beautiful scenery...driving near lake norman at night is really pretty. I like Charlotte and all the other major cities. Easy driving.
Oregon: Portland is a trip. Mt hood is gorgeous.I love chasing the columbia river. The evergreens up there are impressive.
South Carolina: see North Carolina except hotter. King st. in Charleston is a good time.
Tennessee: super low key. great loads. I love nashville.
Texas: Huge but a good drive, great drivers except in houston and austin. Very trucker friendly. All the cities are fun... quirky little stops in the middle of nowhere I've enjoyed.
Utah: Breathtaking scenery.
Wisconsin: most polite people in the country
Washington: not bad. Pretty scenery, Seattle is ok enough.
Bad:
Arkansas: Hot, bland in most spots, too much up and down in the others...lots of shitty poor towns I need to lock my doors in
California: worst D.O.T. awful road conditions, terrible drivers, depressingly dry
Connecticut: awful drivers
Idaho: shitty Mexican food.
Illinois: boring (Chicago is ok)
Iowa: outside of iowa 80 truck stop it sucks for truckers. terrible dot
Indiana: too much road construction
Kansas: boring. takes for every to get through
Kentucky: too much up and down driving.
Missouri: Misery
Massachusetts: by far the worst drivers. Boston does not make up for it.
New York: see Massachusetts (and I live here.)
New Jersey: see new york
Nebraska: no cell service ever
Ohio: dull, all the cities are lame.
oklahoma: toll roads.
Pennsylvania; too much mountain driving and road construction
Rhode island: can I even fit my truck in here?
Boston traffic.
Virginia: get called into every weight station. Angry cops.
West Virginia: shitty mountain driving, steep inclines, awful loads.
Wyoming: cross winds, headwinds, declines oh my
Washington D.C.: Traffic.
States I haven't been to as a driver:
Alaska
Hawaii
Maine
Montana
North Dakota
South Dakota
vermont
lol also I gave up on trying to list alphabetically early on.

I live in Colorado, and it’s beautiful. But, Wyoming is quite a gem. There’s Grand Teton, Medicine Bow, and Yellowstone. Jackson Hole is awesome. Laramie is a more quaint version of Boulder.
