Good job. I have personally made hundreds of miles of roads. Many accross side slopes. IMHO , the best dozer for the job is the D6 LGP. with the 6 way blade. Extremely stable, and the dirt control can't be beat. Once you get used to a 6 way blade. You will never go back. (on a small dozer)
You dont pull dozer up to the edge you let your next push finish the dirt over and your machine stays away from the edg on virgin soil. Worked many times stripping quarry overburden with 200 ft drops to a pit. Wait until it rains and takes that whole hillside
Your right first big rain and its gonna be a MTN of mud sliding down problem is they no nothing about cutting the fill in just let it fall off and fix it after it blows out
The fill may do, but the bench into original ground to support the fill from widening the above road should be good. The outside of the original road that gave way would of been fill and maybe not benched?

Dangerous? How exactly is what he did here in any way shape or form dangerous? Might appear that way to someone that has no clue about operating a dozer but there was absolutely ZERO danger here AT ALL!
I can only assume they are making a road . It looks to me like they should have taken a lot more off the top first then came down in wider steps. All I see happening there is a straight cliff above the road with a lot of erosion and mud slides in that soft dirt they are going to have above the road !!
SE Asia where road building is by the seat of the pants. Taking bets now on how many monsoon seasons before that loose fill slides to the bottom of the valley.
very very wrong operation . Operator must work on the top forest side not the cliff side . Forets up side requires much less earth removal . Pitty . So much money gone .
Under the circumstances you have zero validity in your assertion. He is apparently establishing his base first. I would be to given the slope he is building on. Of course I was speaking as a Superintendent Of Surface operations of a coal mine
No, he's doing the proper steps his road will last longer, and the work is actually easier doing it this way. I'm no TH-cam dozer hand I been on these cats a long time
@@markbaker3172until the first hard rain and it all slides down the face of the structural hill side. I definitely would be rolling everything with a sheep’s foot roller. * 7-20-2023
1st rain all that material he is pushing over the edge will all wash down that steep face @macclark4112 Mr Superpretendo 😂 this is a civil project not a mining totally different you must work for a cowboy outfit like BHP😂

Nice video. It looks like a future landslide when that loose fill gets saturated it will be too heavy and slide down the slope.
Great point!
🤣🤣 Beat me to it. Thx.
If it doesn't wash away within 48 hours, it'll never wash away. The kudzu roots will hold it all in place!😂
Looks like fertile soil, if they can plant vegetation and trees on the slope, hopefully prevent a slope failure during rain events.

Around here in Kentucky, you can’t go very far without hitting big rock. Amazing to me to see so much clean soil.
We grow rock where I live.

Great video,I would not want to get any closer to the edge than what he is.kudos 👍👍👍😎😎😎
First class cat skinner. Spent years doing this in the Yukon with a D8K. Furtunate to not have to rip.
D8K consume alot of diesel righ?
Nice and soft. Wonder what’s wrong with the old road ? The new road is more likely to subside.
old road to small, we need to expand it
Legend has it that little machine is still there cutting that road.
yeah
Good video of the road guys
Gostei. Belo trabalho. Parabéns ao operador.👏👏👏
I wish this video was longer he's got some good material to be working with and that is one deep valley I would love to see it when he gets done
I will upload next part today, actually we can only work about 2-3 hours a day to avoid the rain.
Material muito bom, umidade excelente! Brasil.
I can't say I have ever seen that type of roll cage mounted in front of the cab of a D6.
Bellissimo video complimenti👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

This is rely dangerous job. Kinda scary. And the operator is brave.
wonderful video
Many thanks
New Zealand. Is the dozer operator still alive? Is there are part two where finishes the road or falls off the cliff?
Wow 😮 Its Look So Danger up there
yeah, what if the dozer slide down the hill
Looks like a fun cut but you must start higher, key in the new road otherwise it will slip
Operador excelente.
Awesome coverage. .. Enjoying here
Thanks a ton

for this type of soil, the more it rains, the denser it will be, sir. here we work during the rainy season
looks like a good hard rain & the whole damn hillside will be in the valley.
Side cutting dirt not rock he's happy....good work

Why are we doing it this way versus cutting old road down lower?
Dont know sir
Non mi pare un gran bel lavoro....
ONE DAY, this man won't be lucky. Just a matter of time now. Pride can be very very dangerous, even deadly.
Looks like he’s got a full time job there because that road regularly collapses.
