Hi Laura, I take a makeup sponge, spray it with a little setting spray, quickly pick up just a bit of loose powder and press that into my larger pores. Works wonderfully, very refined looking and stays like that for hours. My favorite setting powder is NYX mineral loose powder the slightly flesh colored one. They do have a white transparent one and that’s very good but the mineral one is even finer.
I don’t like to apply foundation with sponge . I think we waste a lot of product. I use brush , sometimes my hands depending of the foundation , and I finish it up with the sponge .
You have such a beautiful soul I really enjoyed this video. I am 62 and will be 63 in May so I'm always looking for tips for more mature women and I got a few from you today and I thank you so very much for that and thank you for all the wonderful videos that you share. God bless you and your family
What a beautiful polished look you ended up with. At 68 I dont expect perfect skin, but artfully applied products just transform us at this age. Thanks for stepping us through your reasoning as you got ready. I'd love to see another one, using different products. Thank you!
Beautiful. I love this look and want to copy every bit of it. And I love your tutorials on application. I really struggle with that. Thank you so much for being you. ❤
I have always had dry skin. Serum foundations, BB creams and CC creams are my best friend. I love cream products, but don't like a tacky finish on my face and either use a very fine powder like Hourglass or a very finely milled powder blush & bronzer on top of my cream product using a very light hand. Laura Geller has cream products & recently had a sale so I have ordered some to try. I will give an update when they arrive.
The Winky Lux concealer is so underrated! It has really full coverage, it's super hydrating and easy to work with. It almost has a BB cream feel to it. I'm definitely going to check out the lip conditioner and Pat McGrath powder. Thanks for the demonstration and recommendations!
I use mineral makeup since my skin is sensitive. My makeup brushes are from Ecotools, I love the bamboo handles and the brushes are very gentle on sensitive skin 😊 Thanks Laura for sharing your tips. Have a nice day everyone 🏵🌹
Well Laura you "sold" me onto a few of the products used: Joah Perfect Complexion BB Cream and Physicians Formula Butter Tinted Lip Conditioner!!! Can't wait to try these products, and I am so pleased they are affordable products too! Blessings!
Your eyes remind me so much of Julia Roberts. Very pretty. I'm 50 and any powdered makeup is not my friend. Sad because I used to love using Bare Minerals powder. Now I use a damp beauty blender with a medium coverage foundation, cream blush and Mally's shadow sticks.
Great recommendations-looking forward to trying the Physicians Formula! After 30 years of raising my eyebrows at my students, it had not occurred to me that was the source of my forehead wrinkles. Thank you for the useful tips. I watch you as I am getting ready for school.
Thanks so much for watching while you are getting ready for school! I hope that you have had a great school year. Yes, I definitely know where those lines came from! xoxo
I love this look and how you applied your shadow because it has shimmer and shine but it's done well and looks so good! I always like mat shadow but you did the shine right.
Make up you use looks beautiful. I too use a damp sponge and put it under eyes too. Gives good coverage . I’d say my struggle is eyeshadow not staying on . Even with eye primer.
The Joah looks really high end coverage, its very beautiful. Really looks good on you. I like to dot my foundation on and smooth with my fingers then go in with a clean damp blender sponge. I use the sponge for cream blushers too. I love the more natural look a damp sponge gives a make up look.
Hi Laura, you look fabulous and I love that lipstick on you . Now I have been looking for a Dewey B& B foundation, or a light foundation which will leave my skin dewey looking. Any recommendations? And would you recommend RMS living luminizer for a bit of shine? Thx. Btway I’m 74 .
Wow..your overall makeup looks wonderful. Your skin looks flawless. I recently tried the IT CC matte foundation….not a good thing!! It is so drying thick and seems to bring out my pores even when using a primer. Let me know what you think if you try it. Thanks for your videos ❤
Hi Laura, I will use sponge/brush depending on what foundation I'm using. I have very dry skin so I make sure to use serum and moisturizing cream daily.
My face has pockmarks from severe acne as a teen, and now I have unsightly moles and age spots. Yet when I do occasionally wear makeup that lightens the flaws a little, I often hear “ you look so pretty when you wear makeup!” “you should wear makeup more often” or some comment like that. Kind of offensive but I try not to take it to heart. I’m too fatigued from health issues to wear makeup regularly so it’s only an occasional indulgence. For me a sponge is a must for foundation! 🙂
I am so sorry that people say things like that! I have had people say all kinds of things about my acne, especially when I was a teenager. I know how hurtful those comments can be! Sponges do such an amazing job blending makeup! xoxo
Hey Laura Rae! I love your tips about covering and brightening different spots on the face! You look fabulous, closer to 45 than to 60. But I wonder: How long does the beautiful finish on your nose last? I'm really having problems with the pores and redness coming through after only a couple of hours. I've tried several combinations and types of primer, foundation, concealers and cover creams, powders, tinted sunscreens, etc. and not having any luck. I mean, the season for Rudolph is a few months behind us now, and I'm tired of leading the way with this beacon! Can you help?
I understand what you are going through because I have allergies and at times my nose gets red too! I would say a two or three step process would help. Have you tried applying setting spray before you put on foundation and concealer and then apply setting spray on top? I have found that setting spray works better than primers. There are several affordable setting sprays that I like and that way everything stays thin on the skin and doesn't look cakey. You could also mix setting spray with your foundation or concealer. Powder on my nose also helps. xoxo
My skincare struggle is wrinkles under my eyes. Nothing seems to help them. Thought about Vaseline to see if that would help. Been using Vanicream under my eyes.
Vanicream was just not hydrating enough for me. The Kiehls eye cream I have talked about has been the most hydrating I have ever used. It costs more, but for me, it has been worth every penny! xoxo
@@LauraRaeBeauty I got the idea to use Vani cream from EmilyNoel on TH-cam. She is about thirteen years younger than me. She was using it under her eyes.
I have sun damage I try to cover. Im uding a good retinal and vitamin C now, plus sunscreen, but need a good medium to full coverage foundation for my dry 60 year old skin, living in Phoenix 🌵
Hi Laura. Always love your videos! Your skin looks satiny! Do you think the Joah BB Cream will work for combo/oily skin? I'm always on the lookout for something lightweight with medium coverage that doesn’t contribute to my tendency to get oily/shiny....maybe I'm asking for too much!!! Have a great weekend 😍
I think it would work. It would be worth a try. Another one I am loving is the It Matte CC Cream. It is so light weight and offers beautiful coverage. xoxo
I had thousands of tiny shards of glass stuck in my face from the fatal car accident I had to deal with. I remember my eyes were swollen shut, but I could feel the nurses tweezing out pieces and applying ointment while I lay in a hospital bed. It helped obviously, but there is no chance my skin will ever be or look flawless so I tend to take those claims with a salt shaker!! 😂
I have to switch up how I apply all the time, sometimes it looks good with fingers sometimes a brush sometimes a sponge. I have no rhyme or reason. Sometimes I have to use all three.
I have found that depending on the texture of the product and the ingredients changing the tool you apply with can really make a difference in the final look.❤️
That's really rude and not fair to her. Thumbs downing a video hurts the creator, not Target. She's demonstrating products (most of which are available at other retailers). She's not promoting Target. If you have an issue with Target, fine, but that's not what the video is about. Creators put in a lot of work to provide you with free content. If it's that big of a deal to you, have the courtesy to just leave and watch something else without actively punishing the creator's efforts to help others.
What are some of your makeup favorites that improve the look of your skin? Let’s chat in the comments.

Thank you for a great tutorial! At 78, I need all the help I can get! Good ideas! I’m still learning at my age. ❤️
I don’t like to apply foundation with sponge . I think we waste a lot of product. I use brush , sometimes my hands depending of the foundation , and I finish it up with the sponge .
I love using the sponge because it gives me a flawless finish
❤❤❤ Dito…..❤❤❤
Fingers here
Me too!
I do use the sponge to pat my face with it to blend after I use my fingers to apply it.

You're not looking even 50 without makeup and with makeup less than 50. You're incredible and mesmerizing beauty 💕

I appreciate you! Thank you for your suggestion!❤️❤️
Can you do a video of some options for both high end and drugstore options of powders for mature dry skin please!!!!
Laura, the make up looks beautiful. You look really soft and refreshed and your skin looks really good. Thank you for sharing.❤
I’m almost 60 too, and I haven’t used concealer under my eyes for a long time. I just used my foundation and sometimes a little colour corrector.
Your look is beautiful!! You are a talented makeup artist.
I’m loving them earrings ❤

Great video!!! Thank you! I recently just retired from teaching with 35 years in grade 1!
Congratulations on your retirement! That’s so exciting!❤️❤️

Hi Laura! Do you know of a dupe or good alternative that is less costly than the Pat McGrath yellow powder? Thanks!
I am working on that! Hopefully, I will have something to share soon.❤️
I love your eyeshadow!

I am highly considering that brush. Do you honestly feel it is worth all the hype? If it is i will purchase it.
I used several brushes in the video. Which one are you referring to? Thanks so much! xoxo
You look so beautiful!!❤🌺🦒
You are so kind! xoxo
Wow, you look gorgeous
I appreciate your kind comment! Happy Friday!❤️❤️
In Spain we can’t get Joah Bb cream, another recommendation for 60 years old girl?
Nice, a step up from my cherry Chapstick, lol.
😂
What’s the difference in cc foundation, or ABB foundation, or any other kind of foundation
Your skin is beautiful.
I appreciate your kindness!❤️❤️
Quick question.... do you dampen your sponge or use it dry with your foundation? Thank you! 🫶
I use it damp.❤️❤️
@@LauraRaeBeauty Thank you so kindly 🙏🪷🫶🫂
I like the lip brush but didn't see it listed.
I use a makeup brush to apply skin tint.
Does it have skincare or spf in it?
I had thousands of tiny shards of glass stuck in my face from the fatal car accident I had to deal with. I recently as that the Joah brand is sold at CVS
You say you miss dairy. Try Raw milk. I have trouble with store bought milk. But not with raw milk.
What do you use for spf
I love the Alana Mitchell tinted sunscreen.❤️
I like very must,the skins was natural.kiss
Fingers are the best for applying foundation sponges brushes etc harbour germs
Cream blushes just never last on me I am always wanting them to work
I’m 45 and have under eye bags
Did u ever get surgery???
I still at 60 like to apply foundation with a brush
At this point and time is dry skin and a very noticeable sun spot
What grade do you teach? I am a substitute paraprofessional
Currently, I teach third grade. I have taught other grade levels in the past. xoxo
i can never get full coverage with that beauty blender. 🙄
If you want fuller coverage I definitely recommend using a brush.❤️❤️
So where, exactly, are your wrinkles?
I have pot-marks from acne. Now that I’m in my 70’s they look very obvious.
You look 39!
I appreciate your encouragement and kindness!❤️❤️
sorry but thumbs down for using anything from Target!
