I was gifted a 2006 roadstar. I was able to adjust the angle of the handle bars and it was so much more comfortable. This is my first bike, so I am considering buying another smaller bike, but man this bike is a tank.
Awesome bike, I just bought a 2013 and I am loving it, after having 5 Harleys, I think, this is the way to go for the goodies and price. Thanks for the video.
I bought my 04 in 05 as a leftover, It has served me well. I did need to replace the stator, fuel gage sending unit and the sub frame under the rear fender and had to rebuild the clutch.

That’s a slick looking bike. I actually just learned about the striker recently. Didn’t even know it existed! Looks almost similar in design to the road star warrior. It looks a lot lighter than this one too and I’ll bet power is pretty close too. I think the Stryker has upgraded cylinder heads.
@@Aaaaa69999 sure but you’re comparing apples to oranges. This bike is a cruiser it’s not made to be a hot rod. The hot rod version of this bike would be the warrior which is just as fast if not faster than the raider.
I have had my 2005 Midnight Silverado for 10 years now. It has 46k miles and still has plenty of get up and go. I did have to have the transmission rebuild at 32k miles @ $1k so not terribly expensive. The saddle bags have much more room than the Harleys I rode. I just love the way the bike looks and I get A LOT of compliments on it. Although it has a bit more leg room than the Harleys that I used to ride, it's not as comfortable as my old Ultra Classic was on long distance. The Harleys also have a much smoother ride motor wise imo. The road star has very good handling but when the front tire gets a little warn, due to the rake, it is sensitive to ware
Agree my Harley is definitely more comfy for long trips. Especially with all the fairings and windscreen. Wouldn’t have expected the trans to go at 32! That’s uncommon for these tanks from what I’ve read but I suppose anything can happen haha. I got a ton of compliments on my Roadstar too everyone said nice Harley! Then I had to break it to them it’s a Yamaha 😂.
@@frankcastle1183they had transmission problems up until 2003. SUPPOSEDLY they fixed it in the newer models from 2004 on up. The problem was with the gears in the transmission not being machined correctly so they didn't lie up correctly and could have cadostrofic failures. And yes they were recalled. I know a lot of people say that these things are super reliable but I've had my share or problems with mine and then some and now it's down again. I have also read a lot online with others that seem to have a lot of problems as well but then I don't think amy bike is immune. @@mrfelix2510 That Road Stars have or had a lot of problems is absolutely absurd. The stock bars on my 06 are like something you'd find on a snow blower or garden tiller LOL just pure crap for riding, now I have drag bars and risers like a proper bike, were those corked or uncorked Cobra's?
Yep haha I ended up adjusting my bars so they don’t hit the tank anymore. Made it a little easier to turn also. Once you get used to the weight and balance of this bike it’s surprisingly easy to control and maneuver.
I also have a 2004 Silverado and I believe it is 63 horsepower and 99 pound feet of torque for the carburetored bikes and 100.5 pound feet of torque on the fuel injected bikes . These are ROAD STAR. I believe it! Bike has such good torque there’s no need for the high rpm’s. It’s probably why the redline is 4750. Also pretty sure there’s a built in rev limiter to prevent any damage. It’s a tank.

That’s awesome! 35k ain’t bad at all if you keep up with maintenance she will last you many many years
Nice bike , btw a jet kit would do wonders for warm up and even more power it’s very noticeable!
Good call!
Just bought an 04 road star bagger. Idk if ill keep it a bagger but for now i like it.
tap the gauge real hard. fixed my gas and speedo today. it comes and goes after killing it so it could just be a loose ground in my case idk.

Around 4-5k one can be acquired
