My truck heats up at idle like over, almost to red, I just replaced the thermostat and filled it and bled the system but still over heating
Amazing bike
👍👍👍
X18?
Heck, show us your pool stuff too. I'd be hella down to watch that.
keep grinding, you have a good youtube voice
Good Trade mate! The Dude must Really wanted the YZ400
U selling it by any chance?
i just bought 2005 roadstar 1700. same thing I hated the handlebars. Any recommendations? @erik larson
Let's go Brandon shirt in 2024? Magats really don't know how to let shit go huh
The weight 4:31 is actually closer to 800 lb
@@WilliamNicholson-vt9yy the dry weight?
Hi, I have Jeep WJ 4.7 today I tried to remove all the air bubbles, it took me 2 hours and I couldn't remove all the bubbles, I had to leave. Do I have to repeat this later? Is this sure to help remove all the air bubbles? But maybe i have head gasket leak? :((
okay so idk if you can help much with this but i bought my bike off of a friend BRAND NEW and a relative rode it, fell & broke the brake handle 😭 how can i fix that??
Not really a way to fix that short of getting a new brake handle but you know that little pedal on the right side of the peg is the rear brakes right
I drove one like that and to turn it you really have to push those handle bar and if you throw some meat on the fuel tank you can make some bbq
Yep haha I ended up adjusting my bars so they don’t hit the tank anymore. Made it a little easier to turn also. Once you get used to the weight and balance of this bike it’s surprisingly easy to control and maneuver.
I have had my 2005 Midnight Silverado for 10 years now. It has 46k miles and still has plenty of get up and go. I did have to have the transmission rebuild at 32k miles @ $1k so not terribly expensive. The saddle bags have much more room than the Harleys I rode. I just love the way the bike looks and I get A LOT of compliments on it. Although it has a bit more leg room than the Harleys that I used to ride, it's not as comfortable as my old Ultra Classic was on long distance. The Harleys also have a much smoother ride motor wise imo. The road star has very good handling but when the front tire gets a little warn, due to the rake, it is sensitive to ware.
Agree my Harley is definitely more comfy for long trips. Especially with all the fairings and windscreen. Wouldn’t have expected the trans to go at 32! That’s uncommon for these tanks from what I’ve read but I suppose anything can happen haha. I got a ton of compliments on my Roadstar too everyone said nice Harley! Then I had to break it to them it’s a Yamaha 😂.
What happened with the transmission? I heard they had some recalls. Love mine too.
@@frankcastle1183they had transmission problems up until 2003. SUPPOSEDLY they fixed it in the newer models from 2004 on up. The problem was with the gears in the transmission not being machined correctly so they didn't lie up correctly and could have cadostrofic failures. And yes they were recalled. I know a lot of people say that these things are super reliable but I've had my share or problems with mine and then some and now it's down again. I have also read a lot online with others that seem to have a lot of problems as well but then I don't think amy bike is immune. I did ride Harleys back in the earlier 2000s and never have any problems. My Road Star is a 2005 and now I'm told by the Yamaha dealer that they won't work on one that old.
Sweet bike
Like the bike used to have one. Just a bit of a pig weight wise.
How many miles?
22mm NIBBI!
Man I like that sound. I like that it has twin carbs, too.
You are dam right the Japanese can really make good stuff even there cars are bullet proof
Thanks
Nice. Mine is the Yamaha Raider 1900.
That raider sounds like a sweet bike! If I get one soon I’ll definitely be doing a video on it.
Great looking sport/Cruiser bikes. Love the Dual exhaust
Bought a 99 Silverado 1600 with just under 35k about a month ago and it is clean and mean. 3rd owner with the owner's manual.
That’s awesome! 35k ain’t bad at all if you keep up with maintenance she will last you many many years
BELIEVE ME SO PEOPLE ! Many times it's not as easy as it sounds or as it looks . Bleeding job might not always be the problem for overheating vehicle's and many time's the Bleeding plug screw can be old stripped or junk very tight and a pain too unscrew
Very good bike😅
Got one a month ago for €550, only had 9 hours on it. Got a mikuni carb and she rips, model is 2023
Heck, yeah good find!
@@MotorheadLars it surely is, I live in europe and they are here €1650 new. Its illegal to ride these things here even in the grass or open fields so already had a police chase and its amazing
@@Borrelsnapje123 that’s wild they should ban them in that case!
Was this the big wheel???
I’m not sure what the big wheel is…. But this one was significantly larger than any of my other Pit bikes!
How did you buy it with a title
I lucked out and bought it from the original owner who still had the certificate of origin, which is essentially the same as a title it’s just issued by the manufacturer when you buy it brand new.
Of course, if for some odd reason, you needed a title for tags or whatever on public land, you can always get a bonded title. It costs about 100 bucks. Here in AZ, I’ve never been stopped or checked for tags. Especially on a little pit bike. Even if I’m riding around town it’s not a huge deal. So far.
Mine keeps bubbling even after 20 minutes.
thx
i have a love hate relationship with my roadstar but ill never let it go also sometimes a good knock kicks the gas gauge it kicks on its a normal thing
I think it's best bike ever made..
Thanks! It’s definitely a legend of its time!!!
Speed wobble. Loose steering components
Think so? I didn’t notice any speed wobble while riding and steering is as tight as a drum but I’ll double check it to be sure!
i might buy one used for like 500 what should i look out for when buying it?
That’s a good deal if it’s in good shape still look for cracks in plastic, fork seals leaking/bent forks, etc. good compression in motor if it doesn’t run as long as it has good compression you can get a carb for like $20
5k rpm is max for these bikes. Over that and you'll blow it unless it's built to handle it
Also, 1700cc converts to roughly 103ci and yamaha is known for having more power than listed .
I believe it! Bike has such good torque there’s no need for the high rpm’s. It’s probably why the redline is 4750. Also pretty sure there’s a built in rev limiter to prevent any damage. It’s a tank.
@@jonallen7191 These are 1670 = 101.9 cu. in. Yamaha themselves called them 102 cubic inch bikes. The 1600 ('99-'03) is/was a 98 cu. in. bike which is 1602cc.
Check the piston for contact, if its a non clearance motor a timing chain skip might make pistons and valves kiss Look for uneven gouges in the valve releifs. And/or when you get it back together with new valves intentionally time it 90-180° out either way and *very* gently turn it over with a socket and a ratchet, if it stops the tensioner or lack of one is likely what killed it If it turns over freely it wasnt timing related Either way you have to time it twice so the question is how bad do you want to know
Fortunately, the piston looked fine no contact And I’ve went ahead and gotten new valves and seals etc. and had to replace one of the valve guides too since it snapped off. I may try that out of curiosity to see what it was but chances are I’ll probably just be eager to get it running as usual haha. Either way I will post some updates. But thank you all of that is super good info man. I can tell that you’ve done this more than a few times yourself! Always amazes me the wealth of knowledge you guys have.
I’m 5,10 200+lbs would this be a good starter bike for me?
Sure! I’m 6’ tall and 215 and it was just fine. Obviously you’ll want to upgrade once you’re a bit more experienced.
I bought a X-PRO 150 Dlx as my beginner bike (Im 5’8 200+ lbs) my feet is flat on the ground with the seat height being at 35 inches and the bike comes with everything u need to make it street legal, I bought it off of Amazon for about 1500 after everything
Dang man that sucks
Yea it was a pleasant surprise to say the least lol
What is that from?
Yamaha yfz450
Seen a few on south mountain ⛰️
This will be the fourth or fifth one I’ve seen already in or around my area. But luckily no issues so far! They are pretty docile.
Any footage on this process?
I do have some other videos on this bike, but I also have a more detailed one on a similar ssr70 bike that I flipped on my channel. Lmk if you have any questions. Always happy to explain or make more vids!
A rubber wheel followed up with some goo gone works great to remove the residue.
Agreed. I think I was a little concerned about what would be underneath the residue as there were minor signs of bubbling and corrosion so I decided to just cover it back up haha.
A heat gun and friction will get, "All that junk"... #OFF. Additionally lighter fluid, could help any tougher spots.
Believe it or not I tried that! Maybe I didn’t try hard enough but I think it was better to keep the original emblem anyway so win win 😄
Thats a great idea but you need to clear coat it to keep the low quality aluminum that gm used on out badges from corroding.
Ahh good call thanks!
tap the gauge real hard. fixed my gas and speedo today. it comes and goes after killing it so it could just be a loose ground in my case idk.
Good call!! Probably why mine fixed itself the more I rode the bike haha
Beautiful bike. I would love to own one
They can usually be had for pretty cheap! A lot cheaper than a Harley at least haha
Around 4-5k one can be acquired
@@truefirebbq9444 yep! Even less sometimes depending on the area! Got mine for a steal
If you don’t mind me asking, how tall are you? Just for an idea of the size of the bike
I’m about 6’ tall
I’m gonna look at one for sale in two days. Any tips on not getting scammed?
