- Continuing our first-time reaction to Led Zeppelin at Knebworth (August 4, 1979). It's this couple's first time hearing these performances of Over the Hills and Far Away, Misty Mountain Hop, Since I've Been Loving You
Neither of us have seen or heard these performances before. We are re-experiencing classic rock music, an album at a time, with fresh perspectives and active ears, so that Dev can learn and appreciate this music more, and so that Mike can relive his childhood.

My God...i couldn't love thrm more!❤
Excellent shirt Mike!
Thanks, it's making quite an impression. 🤓 And it's black/negative on the back.
Best version I've seen of "Since I've Been Loving You" was on the "No Quarter - Jimmy Page and Robert Plant Unledded" DVD. Every song in that show is equal to or superior to the originals.
We have been listening to them on our Patreon. They are great!
John Fucking Bonham!
🤘😎🤙
Jimmy is so much more relaxed during the improvised solo on OTHAFA, than on SIBLY, maybe due to the weight of expectations from an audience who have heard him killing that solo since 1970. Dev is right ( of course ) in that, even with some flaws and fumbles, Zep are / were better than anyone else at that time. Or since . Thanks to both of you for taking the time and trouble to take us through the entire concert. Best wishes from England 🏴.
I think Bonham was singing Misty Mountain Hop with Robert!
There! Haven't heard this since Aug 4th 1979 as they were left of Zep's 'DVD' dvd. There were a few peope tere actually. 340, 000 they reckoned...
Wow!!!
Zep have the magic for sure. The boys always bring it!!

Very Well! Chemistry
FYI Jimmy page father flew in with Jimmy soo watch him play he sat on the side of the stage watching him play they both arrived in a helicopter
I think there is video of this Knebworth show with much better audio.
Not one of LZ best moments .
Nervous as hell ..all of them.
They did a warmup show prior to this in Copenhagen and it was as good as anything they have ever done.
Yes about the audio, not sure if it’s theirs, or from the show. I’ve seen other videos from the show, & it sounded better.
Personally like SIBLY from the 11th
Not the best audio (there's better video w/audio of Knebworth out there), but still love me some Zep. Thanks.
9:30 - 9:50
Page was either the most brave guitarist of all time or he simply DGAF... but he almost never played a solo (live) the exact same way twice. Unfortunately there’s a fair amount of footage where his endless need to improv didn’t pan out so well. There’s no REWIND or DELETE buttons when playing in front of 200,000 people.
But on this night, on this solo
9:30 - 9:50 Jimmy nailed it + a successfull improv bit near the end.
I prefer Jimmys style as opposed to the guitarists that get onstage and play everything identical to the studio version night after night, year after year. Jimmy always wanted to show the fans a new and different twist to things. He paid for it with the occasional cringey, awkward moment, but hey.... seeing a guitar Gods human side once in a while makes the great moments even greater. Otherwise they end up taking on the stage presence of a machine. Too much of that and it’s 💤 😴 💤 Jimmy is/was like the Denny Dent of live guitar. Imagine how sloppy Dents art appears if you’re 6 inches from the wall and zero’d in on one little part. Those people need to back way off and look again from a different perspective.
I agree. The improvisation was the best part, even if it didn't always work.
They are not as tight, especially Page, Bonham and JPJ are rock solid. Jimmy battling alcoholism and a dope addiction.
Jimmy looked liked he sweated a few pints during this show.
I urge you to check out the performance from Madison Square Garden . Better than this performance.
We already have. It's on our channel.
@@MusicforBusyPeople Cool ! Hey which performance do you think is better ?
Definitely MSG. We also listened to Earl's Court 1975 and liked that one as well, although Robert was struggling at times, as he was still finding his post-surgery voice.
@@MusicforBusyPeople I saw them in 77. To be honest Robert was talking his way through Since I've Been Loving You. And TSRTS came out the year before so that's what I was expecting.I saw what turned out to be Zeppelin's 2nd to last North American performance. Yes that surgery effected his voice. He sounded much better for that O2 arena reunion tour than he did in 77.
Why does she always look disgusted? If she doesn’t like Led Zeppelin, maybe she shouldn’t be reacting on here.
Don't be a Richard, brah 🤙
