Sorry bud but you picked very poorly for this comparison, check out Walking Dead Saints and Sinners on Q2 vs Q3. Or try using Quest game optimizer to actually use the extra headroom. You basically picked 2 games where the devs didn't bother optimizing for Q3 and came up with a flawed conclusion.
Only partially true. Contractors hasn't got a dedicated upgrade, but the graphics engine in Quest 3 should improve things (gunfire detail, lighting etc). BUT you are correct, it hasn't had a dedicated uplift. For VR tennis, it did have a Quest3 upgrade with Mixed Reality. @@ratemygadgets Very fair if you add Walking Dead, Q1 was 0.5TFLOPS, Q2 1.3TFLOPS, Q3 is capable of 2.4. It does have a lot more horsepower than the previous headsets but developers don't want to cut Q2 users out. Once we get experiences designed from the ground up for Q3 you will see more of a difference, can I also suggest Red Matter 2, the first standalone game that made me go WOW on Q3 for its visual fidelity.

Yes better, but £300 better? If you were comparing equally priced machines, then yes, BUT Quest 3 is over double the price of Quest 2. Double! Is it (do you believe) double the machine- If yes, then okay. For me, not yet. Why? The games can play on both. The graphics, although better, are comparable on most games. The functionality is equal. They multiplayer is interchangeable, so you can play across games with Quest2 and Quest3. I agree that the mixed reality is a step change, but it feels gimmicky rather than the next critical move that games developers will utilise. It may prove Quest3 is left behind eventually with AAA titles, but for now I'd hold until prices come down for Quest3 or becomes apparent that the Quest 2 no longer functions with key games.
@@ratemygadgets 200* Unless they lowered the price of Q2 However I’ve been using Q2 since it dropped and I upgraded to Q3 day 1 And I think it’s price is fair It’s OVER 2x the processing and graphics power OVER 2x better comfort and weight distribution WAY better lenses MORE THAN 5x the MR functionalities It’s just BETTER by a LONG shot So yes… $500 Isn’t the end of the world and it’s a fair price To the people that buy a Q2 I get it times are rough But if you want the best of the best save that money until you can get a Q3 it’s worth it

@@ratemygadgets it's worth every penny in my opinion. Better snappier graphics due to faster CPU and the pancake lenses alone make it worth it. Wider sweetspot, and the added mixed reality is icing on the cake. You sir are still very much so bonkers

I just bought a Quest 1 for 50 dollars ... or so I thought. Turned out to be a Quest 2, I was not mad.
