9:20 as a fellow former apprentice, I also remember the radio being one of my most exciting tool purchases.

Thanks for the review! One thing that could have been mentioned but admittedly isn't part of the combo kit is that all their 36v tools can be run off mains power using their adapter.

Got this kit when they had a redemption offer which gave me 3 extra batteries. Unbeatable value.

2:26 The reason it's done that way is to prevent accidental direction switch. Now it's more purposeful. Now, you may not encounter that issue, but a person with larger hands might, so it's actually a good thing they've done it this way.

4:19 that is NOT cheap plastic nor does it feel like it. Cheap plastic feels thin and the shape can be changed with pressure. Try that on that saw. That is high grade, impact resistant plastic that all main brand tool manufacturers use for their tool shells with varying compositions for different final properties. This is why when you drop something that IS made from cheap plastic, at the same weight, the shell will shatter. I've dropped powertools from different brands from a 2-3 stories high and they all survived the fall. That handle is also not small and is the largest of all handles on any circular saw in it's class.

8:38 That's not an issue for that tool as they've taken into consideration the "step down" part of a multi tool blade. Had you had a blade installed you would have been able to visually see that the blade is lower than the lowest point of the tools shell, meaning you can get flat to under cut door jambs. This is not the case for some other brand multi tools like Dewalt's which you may be getting confused with. Not orienting the battery on the angle shortens it's overall length and allows you to get into tighter spaces, say between floor joists or stud walls easier. This design is superior as it achieves both a flush cut AND keeps it shorter.

6:50 The reason that lip is there is to prevent the batteries from being smashed off, in say, a large fall. That's a GOOD thing as the tabs can snap and the battery rendered useless even if the cells are okay. Hikoki should be commended for this as it looks out for the consumer, even if the consumer himself isn't aware of it.

3:58 It's important to remember that just because something is higher voltage does not mean it has more power. I see this misconception a lot and people sort of "expect" tools to be more powerful just because it is higher voltage. Plenty of 18v tools have more power than 36, 54v tools. You CAN get more power out of a higher voltage but it's up to the manufacturer if they want to. Milwaukee actually did quite a good write up years ago justifying their choice (which they have since walked back on) to remain at 18v, around the time DeWalt released it's 54v line.

7:24 that grinder has some of the highest torque numbers of any on the market but if you aren't doing the kind of work that stresses the motor in that way, you won't feel much of a difference. But you can test it yourself, lean into any 18v grinder until it stalls, then compare that to how much you need to lean into that one. At the end of the day though, torque isn't everything and depends a lot on the task you're doing.

7:36 Completely agree with the locking mechanism. Their last gen model was awful too.
